Story
Peanut was a rescue from Texas at four months old he will be 2 in March 2025. Peanut is pad trained so he will go to the pad if he cannot go for a walk or if there is no backyard for him to go. Peanut sleeps in a kennel which is great because he is a very fast runner and when you try to catch him he thinks its a game. Peanut goes to daycamp with his big sister three days a week because we do not have a yard big enough and I thought it would be great for socialization. He is a sweet boy and would be a joy for someone loving and understanding his breed is stubborn and sometimes mischievous in a funny way.

Story
Animal Profile: Darla is a sweet 9 lb Chihuahua that joined us from Texas where she was found wandering as a stray. More to come as we get to know her in foster care. Foster Update: Darla has a spunky personality and loves to cuddle on the couch with her people. She is house trained and crate trained, and does fine being alone for a typical 8-hour work day. She enjoys the company of other small dogs, but would be happy to be an only as well. Darla is a little more insecure around big dogs, but warms up to them once she realizes she won't get stepped on. She has a strong preference towards women, as she can be nervous around men. Darla would be fine in a household with dog-respectful, older children.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from Animal Advocacy & Rescue, our partner in Del Rio Texas, and arriving via Paws Up Rescue on 03/25/24 to the Seattle area. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated in foster care. November 3, 2024, 9:26 pm

Story
Animal Profile:  Apple Pie is a bite-sized cutie that is looking for a new home here in Seattle. She was returned to the shelter with her pack-mate Pumpkin Pie when her previous adopter found themselves in the hospital and unable to care for the two Chihuahuas. Apple Pie is a happy, well-natured girl that was friendly with dogs big and small, and she is easy to handle. She is estimated to be 2-years-old and weighs in at less than 6 pounds! Apple Pie is bound to find a lucky family here in the PNW!  Foster Update:   She is the absolute sweetest!! Very quiet, happy to see us when we come home, and it seems like she’s fine with strangers walking outside. She loves to be in our lap or follow us around, but she also does fine in her crate. Right now she’s most interested in people, but it seems like she also might have a silly side to her and would most likely enjoy another dog in the house, though it’s not a deal breaker without. She walks well without another dog, but does follow the pack when we’re out together. So far no accidents in the house.      Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History:  This dog is arriving from Bossier Parish Animal Shelter in Shreveport Louisiana via Tail Lights Rescue Project on 10/13/24. She will be available for adoption in the Seattle area. November 3, 2024, 9:26 pm

Pumpkin Pie  is bound to find a lucky family here in the PNW!  Foster Update:   Pumpkin Pie's name is really apt because she is the sweetest! She's a super easygoing, go with the flow kind of girl. But she's got a fun and playful side! She enjoys zoomies on the hardwood floors, soft beds, cuddling in front of the TV, dinner, and her crate. She's fully house trained. She does well with our other small dogs, but isn't overly interested in them. She'd be fine with other dogs but also probably great as an only pup. No separation anxiety at all but she prefers to be near people. She did great in the car.  Adoption Info:  Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Story
Animal Profile:   Chico is a 1-year-old, 6lb male Chihuahua that was rescued from the side of the road in southern California. Unfortunately, this is all too common, and when no one came to claim him our rescue partners asked if we could help. Of course we said yes! Chico is heading to the PNW for greener pastures and can't wait to find his family. He is friendly with people and other dogs, and will make a wonderful companion. Foster Update:  Tiny Chico is so sweet and bursting with personality. He loves snuggling and being together. He is a great walker and wants to meet every dog he sees on the walk. He is an easy-going dog but also playful and fun. He is a good eater and isn't picky. He sleeps in his crate at night with no problems, but he would prefer to be sleeping together. He is house trained with regular bathroom breaks. He loves attention from people and being included; he will really bond with his chosen people. He is so cute, and he will look darling in some winter coats and sweaters! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health  certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization.  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued by our partners Angels of Rawley. Arriving  to Seattle area foster care on 10/06/24. He will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care. November 3, 2024, 9:26 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Carmelio is a 2-year-old, 12 lb Chihuahua mix that was picked up as a stray in San Bernardino. He was totally shut down in the shelter environment, and was at risk for euthanasia due to space. Our partner rescuer met him and advocated to get him out, and when we saw his sweet face we had to oblige. You’re safe, little guy! We’ll get you set up for a great life here in Seattle! Foster Update:  Hi! My name is Carmelio. My foster mom tells me I can’t snuggle allllllll the time and have to practice snuggling by myself in my crate! She just doesn’t understand that I just want to be around my people and other dogs all the time. Don’t tell her, but I’m really starting to love my own little spot I can eat and feel safe in. It’s my favorite place to sleep at night when I am all tired out from playing with my foster dog siblings all day. I love to explore and am so curious about everything. When I’m a really good boy, I sit.  I get lots of treats practicing. I can’t wait to learn more tricks. I have had so much fun playing with dogs my size and bigger dogs who have good manners. It’s not my favorite when they try to pounce on me, don’t they know I’m just a little baby? Sometimes my foster mom picks me up like one too and I just melt right in! Walks are so fun. My foster mom/siblings help me stay on track and we stop for lots of sniffs. I’m so happy go lucky and just want to be loved! Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History:  This dog is arriving from San Bernadino via Wiggle Butts Transport on Sunday 10/20/2024. She will be available for adoption in the Seattle area. November 3, 2024, 9:26 pm
