Welcome Drummer to CCPAL Rescue. Drummer is an 8-year-old wire-haired Dachshund. He was adopted out by us 4 years ago. He was 4 at the time. He has been loved and bonded deeply to the woman that adopted him. He would love another home with a quieter home that would allow him to get the attention he needs and deserves. He has found himself in need of a new forever home. His owner has been put in hospice and can no longer care for him. The immediate family cannot care for him so we stepped up and will find this precious boy his new forever home. He is trying to adjust to the Rescue again. The treats from our friends in New Jersey helped him today along with all the nice gifts. His owner has been put in hospice and can no longer care for him. The immediate family cannot care for him so we stepped up and will find this precious boy his new forever home. 5.5 may sound out but it truly is middle aged in Dachshunds lifespans. They can easily live to be 17 years old. If you love the breed, you know how loyal and bonded these dogs are to their person. They are a single dog person dog. They may love other people but they are loyal to one. He sheds some but not over the top. He is a good weight and his teeth are not too bad for his age. You can tell he was cared for and that he is disoriented with his new arrangement at the Rescue. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Welcome Annabelle to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 20-pound sweet Dachshund/Havanese is our best guess. She has a curly coat and curly hair on her tail. She is about 5 months old. She is very sweet. She was found on the streets. She doesn’t jump up, is good with other dogs, good in a kennel, very non reactive around lots of dogs and a busy shelter. She is a very mellow and lower energy dog. She is what we call “perfect” temperament in Rescue. Since she is relatively quiet, she would be fine in a condo, apartment or shared wall situation. She is sturdy and would make a great walking companion. She won’t need lots of walks or exercise to be happy. She is getting spayed soon and is topping up and getting her vaccinations. She could go to a moderately to lower active family. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Welcome Mason Jar to CCPAL Rescue. Mason Jar is a 10 week old sweetie. Dachshund/Black Mouth Cur mix is our best guess. He should be a medium sized dog 28 pounds or less. He is sturdy but has really stubby legs. His mom is Pickles and she is also medium sized. He is getting lots of attention at the Rescue and he is social, good with other dogs, good in a crate, learning wee pad manners and is over all a very nice puppy. The kennel staff usually bathe and clip toenails on a regular basis as well. He should be fine with grooming. He has a soft fluffy coat and adorable expressions. He was found as a stray with his mom who is Pickles. He is getting all 3 sets of his puppy vaccinations, neutered and will be neutered soon. He can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Mason Jar would be fine in a family with children. We like them to be 8 or older. A puppy is always best with someone that is not gone all day everyday. A puppy needs to bond with his humans and to go places to remain and grow up to be a well rounded dog. Mason Jar will also need to finish his puppy training. He would be great in a doggy daycare as he gets time playing off leash with other puppies his size. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Welcome Cosmo to CCPAL Rescue. Cosmo is an Dachshund/Beagle is our best guess. He is about 18 pounds now and should be small sized full grown. We think 25 full grown. He is very sweet, has good eye contact and has a soft coat and down ears. He is active and the group is vocal but not over the top. He is one of the shyer pups and would be great for a family or person that is moderate to less active. He won’t be the social butterfly but will be a fantastic companion pet for someone. If a person is a quieter person wanting an easy and loveable pup that is content being with you, this is your match. A person that does not work all day every day for 5 days a week is the best for a puppy. Someone that can work from home some or has partial days or some days off to spend to help your new puppy acclimate is best. You need time to be with your puppy to socialize them and to finish off their puppy training. Cosmo was very easy to handle taking his photos and he wasn’t afraid of new people and liked being held. He sat on the table with confidence while we worked with him. He is getting daily attention and holding at the Rescue. He is getting his DHPP vaccinations and dewormed. He is good in his play group. He is kenneled in the evening and is learning to go potty on a wee pad. He is currently at the CCPAL Rescue in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Hi, I’m Charity! I’m a three-month-old puppy, so I’m basically a little bundle of fun, cuddles, and puppy mischief. My days are pretty simple: play, eat, sleep, poop, and do it all over again! My favorite thing in the whole world right now is playing with my siblings. I love wrestling, chasing, and getting into a little puppy trouble. When I finally wear myself out, I’m ready for a good nap. Eating is also pretty high on my list, followed closely by sleeping. It’s a tough life being this cute! I’m a friendly, social, and affectionate little guy who loves meeting people. I’ve been around lots of different people at adoption events and have done great. I also love having other dogs around, but I don’t need a doggy sibling to be happy. I could be your one and only or have a furry friend to grow up with. I haven’t met any cats yet. I’m still a baby, so I’m just getting started with all the important puppy lessons! I’m not potty, crate, or leash trained yet, and I haven’t started formal obedience training. I’ll need a patient family who can help me learn good manners, build confidence, and discover the world around me. With plenty of love, guidance, and positive experiences, I’ll have everything I need to grow into a wonderful companion and your very best friend! For now, I’m just living my best puppy life.
