Ryder is a sweet boy that we rescued about two years ago. He is perfect with people who give him his space until he trusts them. The issue is that he is very aggressive toward strainers and people that try to approach him other than our household members and a hand full of others. He will bite if he feels threatened, he has become a liability for our family due to the fact that in two years of training he still occasionally becomes aggressive out of the blue and will bite people. He is small so bites have caused minimal damage but we have children and their friends and our friends are have been bitten in some rare instances. He really is sweet and needs a companion to devote a lot of time. He is very attached to me but does not like any other men. He could be a great companion for an individual that lives alone and has a lot of time for snuggling and playing.

Circumstances beyond his control led him to need a new home, but he remains a resilient and loving companion. Although his age shows in his face, his joyous smile when happy is simply adorable, especially during his beloved walks. When Sammy arrived, he was a bit overweight, but he's diligently working on shedding those extra pounds. Surprisingly, he seems to be more successful in this endeavor than his foster mom. As we continue to bond with Sammy, we've noticed his deep affection for the 12-year-old child in the household. In fact his world brightens up when she is around and they are best buds.  While he isn't particularly seeking play with other dogs, Sammy gets along harmoniously with them. He's been tested with cats, and their presence didn't seem to bother him. However, he does require a patient and understanding environment. During his initial days in his new surroundings, he experienced trembling, which was a recurring behavior from his previous home. Nevertheless, with a consistent daily routine and understanding, he's already showing significant improvements and has developed a love for exercise. Daily walks are crucial for Sammy—they keep his mind engaged and his bones toned. We're hoping to find a wonderful home that adores senior dogs and can provide him with a final, loving home for the rest of his life. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Mauricio is from Texas. He was brought into rescue from a hoarder/neglect situation. He is not used to a lot of human contact, and will bark at strangers.. but not aggressively, just a warning that he's uncomfortable in the current situation. His Texan foster family said it took about a day and a half for him to realize that they were the good guys, and now he just can't get enough pets! I'm going to let you in on a little secret.. the dogs that make you work for it?? they are loyal to you for life. This little man is going to be your new best friend.. and he's not going to let you forget it. He plays well with other dogs that are around his same size, but has not been tested with large dogs or cats. He is working on the whole potty training thing. Limiting his water and having a routine of scheduled potty breaks seems to be working for him, and if kept on a consistent routine once he gets here to Minnesota, he should be 100% potty trained in no time at all! Mauricio is kenneled at night, and does so without complaint. sleeping there through the night until his foster mom takes him on his 6:30am potty break. He is fed in his kennel as well as taking any high value treats there. This handsome, sweet, playful boy is Kirby! Kirby is such a happy boy – he wags his tail so hard that his whole-body wiggles and just look at how he’s smiling in all the pictures. Kirby really loves to be with you. He loves to sit on your lap and cuddle, but his absolute favorite are belly rubs. Kirby is like the best looking guy in the bar. He plays hard to get… but once he gets to know you, he’s actually a good guy! Because of this little quirk, transitions into a new home will be harder but give this junk some time and patience and you’ll have the most handsome guy in town! Kirby is also a huge fan of toys, toys & more toys! Most of the time he’s running around with a toy or two in his mouth. He thinks it’s fun if you’ll toss toys so he can go get them. Kirby gets along great with the three other pups in the household and plays with all of them. Kirby can be bossy and want to control the play when he is with puppies and small dogs. He is great with big dogs- he enjoys playing, snuggling and following a big friend. Kirby does great on walks & is such a good boy in his crate. He would love a fenced at his forever home.
