He has the opportunity to catch a ride on a transport coming to MN on April 15, if we have a foster home for him He is a little bit special needs as he has some fears of some people from being mistreated. He maybe snappy, out of intimidation and fear. We don't know exactly what that will look like until we get him here. Will he immediately calm down after receiving love and stability? Will he always need to be slightly managed when new people come around? We’re not sure! We have seen so many miracles in rescue with dogs who have had abusive or neglectful pasts and who learn to overcome their issues once in a stable, secure environment. We are looking for a committed, soft place for Junior to land - someone who is savvy to this kind of issue, and/or willing to work with him. A home with another dog would be a huge bonus as that can help dogs with fear issues, feel more secure. If you don't have another dog, we can still talk! He loves laying in the sun, going on walks, treats & toys and being under the covers. Walter needs a fully fenced yard as he can be quite the escape artist. He likes to run for short bursts in the yard and find smells to roll in. Walter gets along with his two resident dogs, but is still learning polite greetings with new dogs. Walter is very curious, and needs someone who can be patient and reassure him. He is still working on leash training and is currently demonstrating some reactivity with other dogs. Based on the fosters observations we beleive that Walter may be hard of hearing. Walter is left home with the resident dogs for a few hours at a time. He is known to be a snoop and counter surfer, so he is put in a room with our resident dog. He will settle when left with a doggy friend. Walter picks up on patterns and routines quickly. He is not a quiet boy and will express his needs. At this time, we do not how Walter does with kids or cats. Walter tends to be curious, cautious and skittish around new animals and meeting people outside the home. Currently we are working on basic obedience and leash etiquette. Walter seems to have some reduced hearing and vision. We suspect it's genetic/congenital. He does not seem to be in any pain from it and we are working with MARS Vet to keep tabs on it. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks. She is good with other dogs, and people, but cats are unknown. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. Welcome Atom to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 3-month-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mixed puppy. Mom is Chihuahua and dad is a Dachshund. Atom is small and weighs about 5 pounds now. He fits easily in your hands. He has droopy ears and a wrinkly forehead and some big, beautiful eyes that will be hard to resist. He has a straight and a longer body. He should be 15 pounds or less full grown. He will be a small dog. Both parents were under 12 pounds. He would be best in a home where the person doesn’t work all day every day. A house with less stairs is best as well. He needs to be with his human, to be able to go places and to finish up his puppy training. He will go potty on a wee pad. He is playful and the puppies all like toys. He is the middle size in his litter. He is getting his puppy vaccines, dewormed and will be ready for neuter when he is a few weeks older or heavier. They need to weigh 5 pounds to be neutered. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older due to his small size. He could be adopted locally in Texas, where she is in the Rescue or we could work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Welcome Mutz to CCPAL Rescue. Mutz is a 3-year-old Daug (Dachshund /Pug). He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown and a nice weight. This dog came from the hoarder or overabundance of dog situation. He has an adorable underbit and has really blossomed at the Rescue. He is a quieter dog and has learned to like to be held. He is definitely a lap companion. He is playful with other dogs and has the sturdy body of the Pug. He would love to be a companion for a person that is retired, partially retired or maybe someone with a household that wants a dog with a lower energy to join in. He would be ok with a smaller condo size yard. He is learning leash manners and getting used to commotion of the Rescue. He hasn’t experienced a lot of different things so he isn’t sure yet but he is really really nice. He is not a big shedding dog. He is fine with nail trims and baths and will make some lucky family a great companion. I would say anyone moderately active would be fine for this dog. He bonds deeply and he warms up with affection nicely. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting vaccinations, neutered and he will be ready for his forever home soon. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast.
