Story
Hi! I'm Lou! I'm from Alabama! From her foster: Lou is a cuddle bug and loves any human she comes into contact with. She has a sweet demeanor, wants to sleep all day long, and keeps track of you wherever you go in your home. Lou is potty-trained, with the exception of needing to poop when she is in a new house, but once she stakes her claim, she never has mistakes. She is a bit scared walking through doors and don't try to wake her from her nap (which she needs to be fully under a blanket hidden). She would probably do best in a single dog home, but could warm up to a sibling with slow introductions, and she hasn't been around cats. She is a a great work from home companion, does well in her crate when we leave the house, and can't wait to meet her forever family! Medical Bio : I am currently being treated for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious so your resident pets are not at risk! The treatment for this is 3-4 months long and requires a minimum of 3 appointments and strict rest/restricted activity. My adoption can take place during treatment, while TBB manages the financial responsibility of my heartworm treatment at The Bond Between Vet Center. Any other medical care needed outside of the specific care covered in the contract disclaimer, would be the responsibility of my new family.

Story
Julian is an amazing little guy. He might not be pure doxie, but he has all the character of one. He is working on potty training and is doing great on a schedule. He doesn't seem to know basic commands but he is smart, willing and treat motivated so he should learn quickly. He already learned not to door dash. He doesn't love his kennel but does settle down after a bit and keeps it clean. He would prefer  to sleep with his humans. He loves kids and does great with our resident dog. He is kind and gentle. He loves toys and snuggling under blankets with his people. Overall he low maintenance but is super fun and very sweet. He loves walks, does well on a leash but had a little trouble picking one direction. As a typical Doxie, he will let you if anything is going on you should know about but he isn't obsessive about it. ##2043216##

Clark is the happiest, sweetest, litlte guy anyone could ever ask for! He is crate trained ( although he doesn't love it and does take 5-10 minutes to settle in ) and potty trained. He is great wtih other dogs of all sizes, but he is very playful so if there is another pup in the home that dog does need to a playmate for him. He does try play with cats, and doesn't understand why they won't play with him. He has started to play with toys and he loves them!! He is a quick, fast little guy that LOVES to run and do zoomies!  ##2053267##

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? I will be at Dog Days Downtown in White Bear Lake on Saturday May 18th from 10:00-1:00 pm. Come to the Underdog booth in the Downtown Square near Washington & 4th in White Bear Lake 55110 for an Adoption Event. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.   Hello everyone! I'm Penny, a Red Short-haired Dachshund Mix  estimated to be around 8-12 years old, all the way from Arkansas. Background: My journey has been quite eventful, and I appreciate a bit of time and space to adjust. As an older lady, I sometimes struggle with my vision and hearing, which might make me seem a bit reserved initially. However, once I settle in, I promise you'll see my sweet and affectionate side shining through. My keen sense of smell compensates for any hearing and vision challenges I may have. Hobbies: I find joy in lounging on dog beds, but my absolute favorite spot is on the couch, nestled in the blanket my foster mom made for me. I thrive on companionship and love receiving gentle pets on my ears, face, and lower back. Did I mention that I love treats?! Potty Trained! Despite the challenges of my past, my foster parents are impressed with my potty skills. Adapting to the colder weather here in Minnesota can be tough on my paws, but with a cozy sweater, I'm a trooper. I enjoy outdoor breaks after naps and throughout the day because I stay very hydrated with my love for water. If it's an emergency and I have to go potty, I make sure to be a good girl and use my reusable puppy pad. Other Dogs: In my previous home, I had a bonded companion, and I miss them dearly.  I'm currently still adjusting to a 5-year-old Miniature Dachshund in my foster home. I appreciate his calm demeanor, but I am taking my time to warm up to him. Ideal Home: With a slower pace in my golden years, I'm seeking a home that offers comfort, tranquility, and relaxation for the rest of my days. I would appreciate an owner who will be understanding and be patient with me. Note from my Foster Parents: My original name is unknown, but they've lovingly named me Penny to signify my luck in getting a second chance at life, considering my copper-colored fur resembling a Penny. As a Dachshund, having small stairs or a ramp for furniture is recommended. Carrying me up and down a flight of stairs is advised due to occasional joint issues. The kennel really frightens me, so I would like to have the ability to free roam the house and not be in a kennel.  I'm not sure that I would do the best with young kids given I can get easily startled and unintentionally react due to my vision & hearing loss. I enjoy being able to sleep with my family at night. My foster parents have been taking turns sleeping next to me. I show my appreciation by being the best girl and will sleep through the entire night without waking you. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Welcome Daisey to CCPAL foster program. She is an 8-year-old Dachshund/Corgi is our best guess. She has a longer body and upright ears. She is a scenting breed for sure. She is active and social and not the couch potato dog. She weighs 25 pounds. She is good with a dog smaller and a dog larger. The larger dog is a pit Bull and she does good with that more dominant dog as well. She is around children and is a great dog for a family with kiddos. She has a 5 year old and a baby in her home. This family has found they have to move into a rental house. The rental house will only allow 2 dogs. They are sad but there is no other option. Pit Bulls are tougher to rehome so she is rehoming her favorite dog. She was crying telling this story. Daisey is potty trained, good on a leash, good in a car, good with other dogs, kids and strangers. She will need a fenced yard or walked on a leash. She can catch a scent and wonder off. She has a nice sturdy body and will make a great companion for an active family or active senior. She can be an only dog or go with another dog. This dog has a lot of good years in front of her and is by no means an old acting dog. She is in good health, vaccinated, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is a shedding dog but only moderately. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to help get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org/ See her cute video. https://youtu.be/eMLzAJO7uxM

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey there, I’m Estelle! I may be a little shy around humans, but when it comes to other dogs, I’m all tail wags and puppy kisses. At 12 pounds, I’m just the right size to snuggle up on the couch or hide behind it when things get a little overwhelming. But don’t let my quiet demeanor fool you—I love to run around in the backyard, exploring every nook and cranny like it’s my own little kingdom. Now, I’ve got a few fears—loud noises and overwhelming commotion can send me scurrying for cover. But give me some time and space, and I’ll warm up to you faster than you can say “treat.” Speaking of treats, I’m not picky—I’ll munch on just about anything you give me. I may not be fully potty trained yet, but I’m getting there with a little help from my foster family. And when it’s time to call it a night, you can bet I’ll be curled up quietly in my crate, dreaming of all the adventures I’ll have tomorrow. But the best part about me? I’m a total sweetheart and excited to find my forever home. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Story
Hi my name is Cookee, and I'm the sweetest treat of a pup that you'll ever meet. People say I remind them of cookies and cream when I give them sweet kisses on the nose or bump up and snuggle with them when they're feeling down. I am a Dachshund-Basset mix and medium sized about 30# full grown. Sitting on people's couches or laps is my favorite pastime as I get to snuggle close to the people I love, which is practically everyone! I LOVE OTHER DOGS TOO!! I definitely want a home with other dogs :) As I am a bit on the older side and lived on the streets until I was saved with my babies in my tummy. I have been living at my foster home and am ready for my forever HOME!! I will need a patient and loving family to give me a good life of exercise- LOL, playtime, treats, love, affection, and belonging. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
