Story
Our Ollie Boy is an amazing boy. I write this with tears in my eyes. It can come down to his safety and the safety of others. We live on an acreage and cannot keep him on our property. We have tried it all to resolve this problem and ultimately cannot fix it. He was within inches of getting hit on the highway this morning.. this is not a decision we've come to lightly. But I must be selfless and do what is best for him. He must have a home with a fenced in yard. Other than running off hes a wonderful dog that is great with children.

Story
Ruby is a 1 year old lab mix. She is high energy and very sweet. Loves people and other dogs. Doesn't do well with cats or chickens. She would love a home where she can run, and would enjoy car rides and tagging along on adventures. She was found as a stray and nobody came forward to claim her. We are unable to keep her due to schedule demands and 2 other dogs (we don't need a third).

Story
Frankie is a super fun, athletic guy with lots of unconditional love to give. He came to us as a stray and was never claimed. He is a happy, social dog that gets along very well with people. Frankie loves walks, car rides and spending time doing anything that entertains his brain. He does good with dogs his same size but is not suited for a home with small dogs. A slow intro and supervision will ensure the best outcome for a lifelong friendship with all dogs. Frankie has a very high prey drive and can not live in a home with cats, small animals or poultry. He has proven that he will hurt and even kill anything that is small. His activity level is high and he will need ways to keep busy to reduce bad behavior because of boredom. A daily walk and some fetch time will help keep him entertained and fit. A fence is not required and potential adopters should know that Frankie can climb a 4 ft fence. This guy is clean in his kennel, listens well and is a volunteer favorite. He is approximately 4 years old, vaccinated and neutered. He was named after Frank Sinatra because of his blue eyes. If interested in meeting this charming, active guy please email mdowney@iowatelecom.net for an adoption application.

Marla

German Shepherd Dog

(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Needs special attention, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Marla (born in April 2018) is an exquisite German Shepherd in search of a dedicated and patient owner. She dreams of finding a loving home that can offer her the stability she needs to conquer her fears and embark on a journey towards a brighter future! While Marla envisions a life as the center of attention in a new household, there is a possibility for her to adjust to living with other dogs given a proper introduction. She may feel anxious around dogs in general and would benefit from multiple visits with her potential adopter. To ensure Marla's peace of mind, it is recommended that she be placed in a child-free environment as young children and highly energetic dogs tend to overwhelm her. Additionally, a secure 6-foot fence is essential as she has the ability to effortlessly leap over a 4-foot fence. With a well-structured routine, positive reinforcement, and the guidance of a professional trainer, we firmly believe that Marla will flourish into a remarkable companion. If you feel that Marla could be the perfect fit for your family, please take the first step by completing an application to meet this endearing sweetheart! Adoptions for Marla are limited to the area within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area so the pet can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainer. The suggested adoption donation for Marla is $250.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs. If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
The Boy Who Lived: Meet Harry Potter Born: March 2024 | Weight: 50lbs | Special Power: Parvo Survivor & Professional Cuddler They say some of the best things in life take a little extra time and patience. Harry Potter has been waiting for his "forever home" for almost two years—that’s over 600 days of wishing and hoping. A True Survivor Harry isn’t just a handsome, slate-gray charmer; he’s a miracle. Having survived the deadly Parvovirus as a tiny pup, he has a zest for life that is absolutely infectious. He conquered the odds once, and now he’s looking for a partner to help him conquer the world. Best of all? Harry is already house trained and crate trained! He treats his crate like his very own Gryffindor Common Room—it’s his safe, quiet space where he goes to relax and recharge. Because he’s already mastered the "magic" of house manners, you can skip the puppy accidents and go straight to the fun stuff! The Ultimate Tri-Wizard Athlete Are you looking for a reason to get outside? Harry is your guy! He’s a high-energy athlete who thrives in the fresh air. His Quidditch Pitch: A big, fenced-in yard where he can zoom to his heart's content, no broomstick required. His Motivation: He is extremely food-motivated. If you have a treat, you have his undivided attention (and his big heart). His Growth Potential: While he’s a strong boy who currently thinks "leash walking" is an Olympic rowing event, his love for treats makes him a dream to train. Since he’s already mastered the crate, you can focus all your training "charms" on helping him become a leash-walking pro. A Soulful Connection Harry is a "velcro dog" in the making. While he can be a little shy or "Muggle-wary" around strangers, once you are in his inner circle, you are there for life. He is looking for a patient soul who understands that the best friendships aren't built in a day, but are well worth the wait. Harry’s Wishlist: An Active Lifestyle: Someone who loves long walks or backyard play as much as he does. Patience & Training: A human who sees his "counter surfing" as him just looking for the Marauder's Map (or snacks!) and can use positive reinforcement to help him become a polished gentleman. A Quiet Start: A home where he can settle in at his own pace. The Only Apple of Your Eye: Harry is dog-selective and hasn't met cats, so he’d prefer to be your one-and-only or meet a very compatible canine sibling. Ready to be Harry’s Hero? Don’t let this survivor wait another day. If you have a fenced yard, a pocket full of treats, and a heart ready for a loyal, house-trained companion, Harry is waiting for you. Harry has spent half his life in rescue. He has the strength, the spirit, and the love—he just needs his "chosen one."   The suggested adoption donation for Harry is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Before applying to adopt Harry, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
