Story

Norman has been part of our family since he was a puppy. He is incredibly smart and loyal. He does well in 4-H and well behaved around children and other dogs OUTSIDE of our home.We have realized that Norman’s biggest struggle is territorial behavior in our home. He becomes irritable and has had 2 incidents of bad behavior to people coming into his home without introduction.With our three children and frequent people coming and going, we no longer feel we can realistically manage every interaction safely. We believe Norman may thrive in a home where new people can be introduced appropriately. We love Norman very much, which makes this decision incredibly difficult, but we feel rehoming is ultimately the safest and best choice for him and our family.

Story

Roco is one of the most protective companions you will ever find. often standing next to you like a silent watcher to make sure that you are safe. Getting use to new people will time time but it will be well worth it when her rubs against your leg in greeting or to try and get some attention. After he his comfortable with you you will find him to be a very energetic dog with his favorite thing being to play catch with you and go on walks. He just needs a place with lots of love and patience so that he can get comfortable and feel at home with his new owners. He is not fixed and i would not advise having him around cats. When it comes to getting along with other dogs it is unknown. He does get along with our other shepards so i think with time to adjust it should not be an issue.Like the rest we would like to keep in touch some way just to see how he is doing. Hopefully with the possibility of even visiting ever now and than just to say hi and see him even after he has been re-homed.

Moxy is an energetic, loving and sweet dog. Often found jumping around like a rabbit when you approach her with a wagging tail. She absolutely loves people and loves to be around people. She loves to play catch in the yard, go on walks and spend time with people. I would not advise having her around cats and it is unknown about other dogs. though im sure with time and adjusting it souldnt be an issueat this moment she is mostly an outside dog so there would need to be be house training done. besides that she is usually very obedient and listens well.More than anything she has a good dog that deserves a loving home where she can be given more attention. i dont remember her exact birth date but ik she will be three this year or has turned 3. Our home is to find her a good where she can grow and keep in contact. Just to see how shes doing and see her once in awhile.

We have had nova for 2 years now, picking her out of the litter of my brother in laws dogs before we adopted them. She is a very energetic dog that loves to run around and play with you. Catch being her favorite. She also loves a good walk or to go on a joy with you if you take her. She has been taught basic commands along with shake and spin. She is such a sweet dog that will bring you so much happiness and joy. She loves to be around us anytime she can, not hesitating to rub up against you or roll onto her back.Unfortunately where we live she can no longer stay and we had no one that could watch her for an extended period of time. Our how is to find her a good home where she can get more attention. Hoping to stay in contact and visit her on occasions so that she knows we didnt just abandon her.As for if she gets along with other dogs im not sure. She does get along with our white Shepard and our roommates Pomeranian so im sure with time getting use to another dog wont be an issue.

Thanks to an advanced balloon valvuloplasty performed by the specialists at Iowa State, Moxie's outlook is much brighter. While she'll always have heart disease, she's ready to find a family who will love her for every step of her journey. Now, Moxie is ready for the next chapter: finding a family to love her. Here's what her future looks like: • Twice-daily heart medication. • A follow-up appointment with her veterinary cardiologist in September 2026 (covered by Animal Lifeline of Iowa), followed by lifelong cardiology monitoring as recommended by her specialists. • Reasonable exercise restrictions. She can still enjoy walks, playtime, and being part of the family, but she'll need to avoid extreme exertion. • While her surgery greatly improved her prognosis, Moxie still has congenital heart disease and is expected to have a shorter lifespan than a typical dog.
