To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- TOTAL cuddle bug who adores doing everything with his humans and has zero personal space - Loves chew toys and car rides - May be vocal around strangers, but warms up quickly to visitors - Knows sit, no, and good boy, and does fantastic on a leash; his foster family said he's also well-behaved in the house- Has been fully potty trained in his foster home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine- Can be vocal when left alone, so he may do best in a free-standing home vs. an apartment or other attached-living situation - Has done well with kids in his foster home and adores getting all the pets, but may benefit from a more mature home where all family members are big enough to be OK with the fact that he sometimes doesn't understand personal space- Prefers slow introductions to other dogs, but once he feels comfortable he loves rowdy play; would greatly benefit from a confident dog friend in his new home who can show him the ropes - Has been friendly toward the cats in his foster home and likes to sniff them - Overall a great family dog who will bring lots of joy to his people!The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- A combination of cuddle bug and goofball; always wants to be by your side or on top of you being held like a baby- Loves all food and all toys, including tennis balls, Nylabones, stuffed toys, and Kongs filled with pumpkin or peanut butter - it all depends on his mood - Good in the car and loves sticking his head out - it's very funny watching his lips flap in the wind - Enjoys sleeping in bed with his people and wants to have his head on the pillow as if he were human - Knows sit and shake and is food-motivated- Loves going on walks and does great on a harness, with little pulling unless he sees other dogs- Has been pretty well potty trained in his foster home with few accidents; may need some help in his new home getting to 100%- Has done very well in his foster family's home with a fenced yard; may do fine with apartment-living as well, as he prefers to be indoors rather than out - When left alone, his mission is finding any food that has been left out, so putting food items in secure places will be important - Went on a Dog's Day Out field trip while in the shelter: "He was very well-behaved. He did a good job with my kids and loved going on a walk. He enjoyed standing in the creek to cool off. We had a good time hanging out with him." - Has been great meeting new people, although he may be a bit much for smaller kids - Seems to do well with most dogs, according to his foster family - May have allergies (more info at ARL)This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program.
