Story
Jack was surrendered to the shelter after being left at a farm in Iberia. He is a friendly, playful guy, but just couldn't keep himself from chasing the neighbor's cattle! He is happy and outgoing and plays with other dogs but does play hard so he will need a friend that matches up with his style. He did attend Puppies for Parole at Jeff City Correctional Center. They reported that while he was a little fearful at first, he got more comfortable with his surroundings as time went on, so patience and consistency will be your best route with this dog. After being there for 10 weeks, they say he is a loving dog and will bond with you if you give him a little time and affection. Primary Color: Brindle Weight: 64 Age: 3yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
Meet Knox, a Great Pyrenees weighing approximately 115 lbs- a true gentle giant to say the least. His endearing nature is particularly touching considering his special need - he is deaf. Despite his hearing impairment, Knox is a happy and easy-going guy. His sweet and mild nature instantly warms the hearts of those around him. However, he DOES NOT like sharing his food with people or animals, becoming very defensive and possessive. Feeding time for Knox should look like this...fed alone in a room with a closed door and not let out until he's done eating. Knox must be the only dog in the household and needs a household without children.Knox's ideal forever home is one that recognizes and embraces his distinctive qualities. Patience, understanding, and unconditional love are the pillars of the home he seeks, where he can navigate life with the gentle guidance needed to thrive. Be it leisurely strolls in nature or cozy evenings at home, Knox is ready to share his heart and sweet spirit he will bring to his forever home.If you're ready to welcome Knox into your life, come meet him, and embark on a journey filled with love, laughter, and the delightful sound of endless tail wags. Story
This is Turbo! He's come a long way from the emaciated dog that was brought to the shelter in September 2025. Weighing only about 34 lbs. and having significant hair loss, he was not a pretty sight! But what a sweet personality. In spite of his condition, he met everyone with a shy tail wag and wanted hugs. Today, he has put on weight, his hair has grown back (mostly) and he's come out of his shell revealing a super sweet, cuddly dog that will make a wonderful addition to any family. Story
Joplin was brought into the shelter with her litter mates from a situation where there were too many dogs for one person to take care of. Joplin's mom looked to be an Australian Shepherd, but we don't know what dad was. Joplin is a happy-go-lucky, playful, and rambunctious puppy who craves attention and loves to play. Joplin returned from Puppies for Parole and her handler said she did very well. She adjusted well to her new environment and learned her basic commands. She is very treat motivated and can easily be taught simple things like sit, roll over, etc. She has a little anxiety around strangers but warms up quickly. They think she will do well in any family, even one with kids that are respectful of her and gives her time to adjust. If you think Joplin is the pup for you, complete an application online at:www.daslakeoftheozarks.com Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 39.2 Age: 0yrs 10mths 3wks
