Story

I'm Thanos and I came into the shelter as a stray on 12/29/2023 and have become one of the longest residents here. Although the shelter staff loves me, I'd rather be in a warm, safe and dry home environment with people who love me and will provide the attention I desire. Sometimes I don't know my own strength and will jump up but don't intend to be rude or pushy--I just crave attention! I do know some basic commands, but without someone working with me daily (more than my daily walks and people passing by my kennel looking for a forever companion), I forget until I'm reminded again. I'd do much better in an "adult only" home or home with children 13 or over due to my size and strength when I'm being playful. I have a history of not getting along with other dogs, so I'd prefer to be the only dog in the household. If you can provide the structure and physical activity I need, you will find a best friend in me!

Selma can be selective with dogs (therefore, a meet-and-greet is required with your dog to ensure compatibility) and doesn't care for cats at all. Jamie came to us as a stray in May 2025 and is approx. 5 years old and weighs roughly 50 lbs. Jamie can appear to be hyper in her kennel when you come to see her but once engaged outside of her kennel (and/or in a home environment), she quiets and calms easily. She's playful and friendly and is waiting to meet you! She's good with other dogs (don't know about cats--but we can cat test her!), but we would require a meet-and-greet with your dog to ensure compatibility.

We are looking to re-home Tucker to a nice loving owner who can give him the time and energy he deserves. We were given Tucker when we lived in North Carolina and since then have moved to Missouri and grown our family to 6. With 4 children in school and 3 jobs we simply are not able to give him the attention he needs. Tucker is a 6 year old Male Shephard/Hound mix that is neutered. Tucker is friendly with others as well as other dogs and cats. He is patient with children and is completely house trained. Tucker enjoys walks and having the ability to roam freely to smell around! Tucker is a large weighing 120 pounds however he is not an aggressive animal.
