Story
Approx. DOB: 7/24/24                 Approx Weight: 9.9 Lb Adoption Fee: $300 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Meet Harvey – Tiny Body, Huge Heart! Don't let his little size fool you—Harvey is packed full of love, personality, and just the right amount of spunk! This adorable Dachshund mix weighs just under 10 pounds, making him the perfect little sidekick for someone looking for a pint-sized companion. Harvey is a total cuddle bug who loves nothing more than curling up next to his favorite people after a day of fun. He's incredibly affectionate and enjoys being close to his humans, whether you're relaxing on the couch or heading out for an adventure. This little guy also loves other dogs and would enjoy having a playful canine companion. Harvey is active, curious, and always ready to explore, so a securely fenced yard would be ideal for letting him safely run, play, and burn off some of his puppy-like energy. Harvey is still working on his house training and isn't quite there yet, but he's making progress. A belly band is an easy management tool while he continues to learn, and with patience and consistency, he'll keep improving. Because Harvey is so tiny, he has a habit of being right under your feet, following his people wherever they go. His forever family will need to be mindful of his size to avoid accidentally stepping on him. He's happiest when he's included in everything you're doing! If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate little shadow who will happily snuggle, make you smile every day, and fill your home with love, Harvey may be the perfect match. Come meet this handsome little guy—you'll quickly see why everyone falls in love with him!  I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Approx. DOB: 7/2/24                 Approx Weight: 150 Lbs Adoption Fee: $500 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Meet Tank! If you've been dreaming of a gentle giant, Tank might be your perfect match! Tank is a 2-year-old Great Dane with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He absolutely loves people and enjoys spending time with other dogs. Whether he's making new friends or soaking up attention from his favorite humans, Tank is happiest when he's part of the action. Even though he's an adult, Tank is still very much a puppy at heart. He's playful, goofy, and sometimes forgets just how big he is! Because of his enthusiasm and size, he'd thrive with a family committed to continuing his obedience training. With consistency and positive reinforcement, Tank has all the potential to become an amazing canine companion. Tank has been neutered and had a preventive gastropexy performed at the same time to help reduce the risk of bloat, a serious condition that can affect large, deep-chested breeds like Great Danes. Tank is looking for a loving home that will embrace his fun-loving spirit, provide structure and guidance, and include him in everyday life. If you're searching for a loyal best friend who will make you laugh, greet everyone with a wagging tail, and fill your home with love, Tank is ready to meet you! I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Story
Approx. DOB: 3/17/23                 Approx. Weight: 43 lBS Adoption Fee: $200 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Miss Darla is looking for a family as wonderful as herself. Her foster mom says she is house and crate trained.  She will whine to let you know she needs to go out. Darla has loved playing with the dogs in her foster home because they are all even tempered like her. The dogs that are bossy and dominant she does not like. Darla loves to play tag, tug and chase with her furry friends.  The yard she plays in has a 4'  chain link fence and she has never tried to get out or over it.  She will sometimes play fetch unless the ball or toy interest her more then returning it... LOL. Darla has been working on walking on leash wearing a harness,  which we include with her adoption, plus her collar and leash.    I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped. Story
DOB:  2/21/26                         Weight(as of 7/10/26): 42.2 Lbs. Adoption Fee: $275 includes 1 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. Meet Jada – Still Waiting for Her Forever Family! ❤️ Jada is the last of her litter still searching for her forever home, and we just can't understand why! At a little over 5 months old, this beautiful girl has a super sweet, loving personality and is more than ready to become someone's best friend. We believe Jada is a Labrador Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix, although we can't guarantee her breed mix or adult size. One thing we do know is that she's growing into a gorgeous, large-breed puppy who will need a family ready for all the fun that comes with raising a big dog. Jada loves to play with her toys, explore the yard, and then curl up for cuddles when playtime is over. She's affectionate, gentle, and always happy to share puppy kisses with the people she loves. As with any puppy her age, Jada is still learning the basics. She will need a patient family committed to continuing her house training, socialization, and teaching her good manners. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and lots of love, she'll grow into an amazing lifelong companion. Because of her size and puppy energy, Jada would do best with an active family that can provide daily exercise, enrichment, and plenty of time together. A securely fenced yard is strongly preferred so she has a safe place to run, play, and stretch those long legs. Jada has watched all of her siblings find their forever families, and now it's her turn. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate puppy with a heart as big as she is, Jada is ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and plenty of tail wags. Could Jada be the missing piece your family has been waiting for? Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting/adopting one of them just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch. Story
Approx. DOB:  5/15/20               Approx. Weight: 16.7 Lbs Adoption Fee: $250 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Meet Panda! Panda is a sweet little girl looking for a very patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. She is shy with new people and cannot be rushed or forced into accepting affection. She needs the freedom to come around at her own pace. In her foster home, it took about three months before she felt comfortable being picked up. Her trust was earned by simply sitting on the floor, offering treats, and letting her make the first move. Once Panda feels safe, the bond you'll build with her is incredibly rewarding. She is looking for a calm, quiet home with a securely fenced yard and no children. She does love other small dogs and would do best with a small doggie companion. If you're willing to give Panda the time and patience she deserves, you'll gain a loyal little companion whose trust is truly something special. I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.
