COURTESY LISTINGCOURTESY LISTINGPlease contact Timothy Casteel 816-853-0482for more information! Hi! My name is Henry James. I’m a ten month old Siberian Husky. I am full of energy. I play well with my dog friends. I have not been around cats or children to know if I am compatible. My current mom and dad adopted me last June. They have worked really hard to find the food that I like, to crate train me, to house train me, and to love me. I really love, love, love to play - inside and outside. My mom and dad had a life change that will take them on the road for extended periods of time. Because of this, I’m looking for a new forever home. My new home will need to continue working on my training. I come when called; I sit on command; I show them what I want through my behavior. I am neutered and my vaccinations are current. I am walked on lead with a harness. My backyard is rather large. That is where I run free. Mom and dad don’t let me run free outside. I like being with someone, and I like hanging out in the yard by myself. Please contact my dad for additional information. Story
DOB: 6/28/25                                  Current Weight(as of 2/20/26 is 8pds)   Adoption Fee: $350 includes 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness.    Bestie came to us at just one week old with his siblings. His right eye never fully developed and had to be removed at 5 months old. He doesn't have full vision in his left eye but he does extremely well getting around his foster family's home. Routine and having items not moved around help him guide his way around the home. His biggest vision issue is depth perception.  He never goes up or down stairs.  His foster family carry him outside to go potty and play under their constant supervision. His potty routine is using peewee pads in the house unless he is carried outside to go. If you have stairs in your home then they must be baby gated off to keep him safe.  Bestie loves other dogs! He does tend to be scared around dogs over 30pds. His best friend is a 15pd terrier mix. He has done great around the kitties. Most are his size or bigger.  Bestie is crate trained. He sleeps in a crate at night with his bed and a peewee pad.    He is that cutest little guy. When he gets worked up playing or running after us in a game of tag he sounds like he is giving a little honking sound.  It's the cutest thing and hard to explain.  Fill out that application if you fill he would be a great companion to your family and your family will be great for him to live with.    Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out t8o potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting/adopting one of them just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch.  Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Story
Approx. DOB: 3/17/23                 Approx. Weight: 43 lBS Adoption Fee: $200 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Miss Darla is looking for a family as wonderful as herself. Her foster mom says she is house and crate trained.  She will whine to let you know she needs to go out. Darla has loved playing with the dogs in her foster home because they are all even tempered like her. The dogs that are bossy and dominant she does not like. Darla loves to play tag, tug and chase with her furry friends.  The yard she plays in has a 4'  chain link fence and she has never tried to get out or over it.  She will sometimes play fetch unless the ball or toy interest her more then returning it... LOL. Darla has been working on walking on leash wearing a harness,  which we include with her adoption, plus her collar and leash.    I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Story
Approx. DOB: 3/12/21                Approx. Weight: 40 Lbs Adoption Fee: $200 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Callie can climb chain link fences so a wood or wrought iron fence would work best or an active family that will take her on walks. She loves going for walks, jogs and runs! Hi, I'm Callie.I am roughly 3.5 years old and full of lots of energy. I love my humans, especially the little ones - they're my favorite people. I love other dogs but need to be in a home with other dogs my size because I sometimes forget how big I am compared to the little ones. I don't mind cats too much, but sometimes they scare me. I get a bath once a month and I need my nails trimmed every two weeks.I love to play outside, but it's best if a friend goes with me because I get the zoomie zooms and I can jump pretty high, sometimes over a fence or up a tree. I'm not quite sure about toys, but am slowly learning to play with them. Sometimes it's hard for me to tell if it's a dog toy or human toy, so I'll need help learning which ones are mine. I graduated from K-9 citizenship school and my trainer says I'm the best girl and I can sit, shake, laydown and sometimes stay, although we're still working on that. So sometimes I'll dart out the front door, so be sure to tell me to sit and stay before you open the door. I don't really mind the kennel for short periods of time if you give me something to chew on. I need help during the Fourth of July, the big booms really scare me, so please ask the doctor for medicine to help keep me calm.I love my kibble, but if you could make it wet in the morning - that's my favorite way to eat it. I eat about two cups of food a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. I don't usually eat more than that, but on days that I'm extra active, I might need more. Callie was just treated for heartworms so it is very important that she stay on heartworm prevention year round for the rest of her life.  I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Story
DOB:  1/21/21               Approx. Weight: 23 lBS Adoption Fee: $ 300 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Dixie is the sweetest girl. Just look at those brown eyes. She has learned that she loves to sleep on the bed and does well all night long. She prefers to sploot and eat her food off the floor. So a flat dish or paper plate works well for her.  She seems interested in toys but has yet to play with them. Dixie has a good energy level. She likes to run around and then is happy to nap on the couch. She gets along great with her foster furry siblings. She is friendly with people as well. She does great in the car and enjoys a nice pup cup.   Dixie is still in the process of being housetrained. So patience is needed for her to learn the ropes. She can climb stairs no problem but hasn't conquered going down the stairs.    Overall, she is so sweet and adorable and will make an excellent companion.  She is not trained to walk on a leash, so a fenced yard is best to keep her safe. Also a home with another canine friend will be best as she is gaining confidence with her furry friends. I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.
