Story
Honey is about 18 months old (exact birthdate unknown), 48 lbs and has been with us for nearly six months as a rescue. She is a great dog, extremely playful and intelligent and gets along wonderfully with all dogs big and small. She loves kids, the dog park, wrestling, chasing, tug-o-war, teasing and being teased. Despite many modifications, we have been unable to contain Honey in our yard ever since she officially settled in, and it has made it difficult for our busy family and for our older dog who is a good boy and always stays home. Our home and neighborhood is surrounded by woods and wildlife, and Honey cannot help herself. She needs a home and family who is active and can give her the physical activity she needs, but she also needs a home with a fence at least six feet tall. Honey also has lost an eye to glaucoma. It has not slowed her down a bit. She is a great dog who just needs a home that can match and contain her energy. She’ll come with any toys and tools needed.

Story
Jax is a very sweet, playful, goofy & smart boy. He has quickly picked up commands like sit, lay down, stay, kennel, & gentle (when giving post-dinner dental treats). Jax is a 1.5yr old Husky-German Shepherd mix and was adopted from a Sacramento shelter in late Sept. in hopes to be a companion for our 3yr old German Shepherd. Upon adopting, we quickly found out he guarded food and toys. He was also severely emaciated. Since September, he has gone from 60lbs to approximately 75lbs, has been potty trained, and has slowly gotten better with resource guarding, but continues to do so. He plays well with other dogs in a park setting and at home, however he would best thrive in a home as a sole dog due to the guarding. He doesn’t do well with cats. He spends time in his kennel when we are away, as he’s a pup and can be destructive if alone. He does very well in his kennel and would best thrive in a place with a fenced yard, as he’s still learning recall. He’s a very sweet boy♥️

Story
Porter came to us as a stray, and it was clear from the start that life hadn’t always been kind to him. This little guy arrived shy, timid, and unsure of the world around him, carrying the quiet weight of a rough past. But over the month he’s spent with us, we’ve watched him begin to unfold in the most beautiful ways. Every morning, without fail, Porter greets breakfast with the sweetest burst of joy — the pitter patter of his tiny feet is enough to melt anyone’s heart. Though he’s still head-shy, he truly enjoys the gentle routine of his daily strolls with our volunteers, trotting along with a calm determination that suits his old-soul spirit. Porter is both blind and deaf, but he navigates his world with grace and surprising confidence. He gets along well with other calm dogs, big or small, and would likely adjust just fine to a more energetic companion as long as they respect his space. What he needs most is a peaceful, patient home where he can feel safe and loved. He may not be a typical lap dog, but he is a gentle presence who deserves comfort, kindness, and a soft place to rest in this stage of his life. Porter has weathered so much — now he just needs someone to show him that the world can be gentle, too. If you have a calm home and a heart ready to love an old soul, Porter is waiting.
