Story
Boba is a very good girl, but our home is not the right fit for her. We adopted her from the Guthrie Animal Shelter during a rough time, thinking a new companion would be beneficial. However, we are unable to allocate the time and resources to train her and give her the life she deserves. Some positives: - She is a cuddle bug. She will curl up in the chair with you and sleep all day. - She has never had one accident inside. - She came to us crate-trained. She goes to her crate when it is time to bed and will sleep in as late as you want. - She loves her people. We have never had a dog as loving as her. Some negatives: - She is not cat-friendly. We have tried to work on this with no improvements - she tries to attack our cat if they are in the house at the same time. - We do not take her on many walks. When we do, she is excited, but she is too strong for us and is aggressive toward dogs and children. We do have a second dog that she gets along with, but it took time to adjust.

Maggie is an estimated 7-year-old Mastiff who landed in an Arkansas shelter after her owner went to jail. She’s already been through so much — right after we picked her up from the shelter and took her to the vet, we discovered she had a life threatening uterine infection called a pyometra. Thankfully we got her just in time, she was hospitalized at our vet and spayed to take care of the infection. She's extremely underweight and so we're working on getting her healthy. She's also postitive for heartworms. It's clear she was neglected for some time.  Maggie has been dog tested and she’s been very sweet. She does well with the other Mastiff in her foster home and the cats as well. Her foster reports she's a pretty easy keeper. She's got a road ahead of her to get healthy, but we're commited to getting here there! She'll be available for adoption once she finishes all of her veterinary care. This sweet girl was found as a stray in rural AR. She arrived at her finders's house pregnant and had a litter of puppies. They were never able to locate an owner for her and she had no collar or microchip. Unfortunately she was not spayed by the finders and 6 months later had another litter of puppies. Thankfully they were able to bring Peaches to us once this litter was weaned and so no more puppies for her! (Those puppies went to a local rescue for placement). We can only guess how many litters she's had but we know it's at least 2. Peaches is dog friendly and good with kids. She is small for a Mastiff so possibly she is mixed with something else. Although if Mastiffs have puppies on their first cycle, it can definitely stunt their growth and then tend to be smaller in size. She's only about 65 lbs. Peaches was spayed recently and unfortunately when they tested her for heartworms, it came up positive. She has received injections to treat those and about ready to be adopted! Peaches has been an absolute joy in her foster home, and very well behaved. She has been on quite the journey, and this sweet girl is almost at the finish line of her heartworm treatment! Soon, she’ll be ready to pack up her street-smart charm and move right into the home of her forever family. Her foster family lovingly calls her their “scrappy charmer” – because not only did Peaches learn how to survive life on the streets, she’s mastered the art of wiggling her way right into your heart. Peaches is an all-ages sweetheart who has done wonderfully with kids from 5 to 15. She’s also a dog-friendly gal who loves canine company. Her favorite hobbies include cuddles, playtime, and making friends wherever she goes. Now, full honesty: Peaches is a squirrel enthusiast (okay, she’s obsessed) and has a high prey drive, so a cat-free home is definitely best for this adventurer. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate pup with a big personality and even bigger heart, Peaches might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to turn the page on her past and write her happily-ever-after with you!
