With the right outlet for her playful spirit, Panera will make a wonderful companion. She’s ready to leave her stray days behind and start a bright new chapter with a family of her own. 💛🐶

Story
Meet Chase Chase is a handsome 2-year-old shepherd with beautiful sable fur, weighing around 70 pounds. He’s a sweet, gentle guy who has just joined us and is settling into his new routine. Chase has a condition called Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), which means he will need to be on a life-long enzyme powder to help him digest his food properly. He is still a bit skinny for his size, as he just started treatment, but we are working on helping him gain weight and build strength. Despite his health needs, Chase has shown himself to be a really nice dog. He enjoys outdoor time, where he goes to potty and play with a female dog, and seems to do well with female companions. He would benefit from training and daily exercise to help him gain confidence, build good habits, and stay active and healthy. Chase is looking for a family who can provide consistent care, daily enrichment, and the love he deserves — including the commitment to his enzyme therapy. With the right guidance and support, this sweet boy has the potential to thrive and become a loyal, joyful companion.

The first available day to schedule an appointment to see me would be Wednesday the 4th. I'll see ya later! --- 1/18/26: Axel is a 6-year-old German Shepherd weighing just under 100 pounds. As far as we know, Axel’s life before coming to us was one of isolation — living on a chain, exposed to the elements, and deprived of the basic care every dog deserves. He was removed from that situation and Axel is now fully in our custody. Axel is brand new to Char-Wills, and we are still getting to know him. As we spend more time with Axel, we will continue learning about his personality, preferences, and quirks, and his bio will be updated to reflect what we discover along the way. Saving a dog like Axel is both an honor and a heartbreak. When given a bed, shelter, consistent food, and genuine love, he showed us just how much goodness still lives inside him. It makes the reality of his situation unimaginably difficult. Axel has done well with every animal we’ve tested him with so far, though we believe he could clash with a dominant male in a home environment. He already knows some basic commands and has shown himself to be intelligent and eager to learn. Despite his past, Axel appears to be house-trained — he has never soiled his kennel, which speaks volumes about his awareness and self-control. Axel is a smart dog with clear potential. With training, socialization, neutering, and continued structure, there is reason to believe some of his challenges could improve. Dogs like Axel remind us how resilient they are — and how deeply they can bond once shown kindness.

Story
Meet Harley Mae Harley Mae is a beautiful 3-year-old girl who made her way to us as a shelter transfer from Georgia. We believe she may be a German Shepherd/Dutch Shepherd mix, as she has striking brindle coloring on her legs that makes her extra unique and eye-catching. Weighing about 65 pounds, Harley Mae is a happy, lively girl with a fun-loving spirit. She carries herself with confidence and brings a bright energy wherever she goes. Her joyful personality and beautiful markings make her truly one of a kind. Harley Mae still needs to be microchipped and have her 4DX and rabies vaccine completed, but those will be taken care of this week. Once that’s done, she’ll be all set and ready to head off to her forever home. If you’re looking for a cheerful companion with a little extra flair, Harley Mae may be the perfect fit. She’s ready to start her next chapter — could it be with you?
