Story
We adopted Luna from the Antietam Humane Society in June of 2023. Her birthday is January 29, 2023. Luna is incredibly energetic and fun-loving. She loves to snuggle and play outside. As much as we love her, we believe she would be a better fit in a home where more opportunities for play and exercise can be provided. Although we do have a fenced in backyard, we feel she isn't happy without more room to move about and other animals to play with. She does very well with other dogs. She loves to play with our cats. She plays great with our 13 year old child but younger children may get scared by her size and energy level. She is not aggressive or mean in any way, just very energetic. She has been through 2 sessions of formal dog training and knows basic commands. She is crate trained for bedtime. Due to living in an animal shelter, she is scared of loud noises, stairs, cars, and can be fearful of going on walks or to unknown places.

Story
Molly is a 1 yr old female who has a lot of energy and needs a lot of playtime and exercise. She is very sweet dog and loves people after she gets to know you. She can be alittle skittish around strangers and new dogs. She is a very healthy dog and doesn’t have any medical history that I know of. She was a pup from a litter we had and we tried to find a home and kept failing so we decided to keep her. Unfortunately our older dogs are not getting along with her and there has been some tension and fights with another older dog that she lives with. So we think it’s for the best and her safety to rehome her.

Story
I have to be honest rehoming Buster is going to break our family's heart! He's such a sweet dog. The problem is he is an escape artist, and we have a young child who knows how to open doors and neighborhood kiddos that come in and out. It's become a problem in the neighborhood because he makes catching him a game. We just had our fifth child and Buster is starting to try and play fight with the neighbor's dog since we don't have a fenced-in back yard. I just don't have the time nor the energy (although I wish I could handle it) to be in two places at once.

Story
Right up front… We received a sponsorship donation to help with Andys adoption fee, so it’s been reduced to $400. Andy is a lovable dog who will never leave your side. He likes long walks and loves to sniff anything and everything along the way! Loves to give kisses. Becomes overwhelmed Easily if his boundaries or territories are crossed. House broken, crate trained, needs a fenced in yard. Definitely more suited for a one-dog owner. Cats are ok, and maybe adult kids, he is curious about other dogs ( I can talk you through that) but he can become easily triggered, through car glass, fencing, and protective over his family. He’s very Protective over his home and his people. Needs time to warm up to new people and he likes to feel like he is in charge, being an Alpha which needs to controlled and put in his place, but once he is comfortable, he will be your best friend and trusted companion for life. Very low-maintenance otherwise, although he’s a very hairy guy, brushing is a must. Can be left alone for long periods of time - does not chew or get into anything he's not supposed to. Likes to be right next to you on the couch and the bed. Well-trained - knows place, down, stay, sit, and working on heel. Loves peanut butter as a treat. We transport every other week to a location near you with the most animal friendly transport - Rescue Riders Transport.

Story
This story is from Kevins rescuer, the police officer. We got a call about a puppy being tied on a vacant properties porch and possibly someone trespassing on the property. Once I arrived on the property, no one could be located, but the puppy was tied to a porch railing and left with no food or water. I contacted John with Baker Bridge Rescue who agreed to help me, of which I was very grateful. I then secured the pup shortly after. A couple folks floating on the river were very relieved to see the dog being taken care of!. Since getting Kevin home with us, he has gained weight and found that people can be good. He is learning potty training and playing with the other dogs. He loves playing with toys. If you are interested in learning more about Kevin (puppy), please email BakerBridgeRescue@aol.com and ask for an application. Once we review it, we will call you. Story
Bosa is a great dog that just needs a more quiet and less active home. Our 4 kids like to carryon and rough house with each other and he gets very upset and thinks they hurting each other. He does great in the house and can be left alone without having any bathroom accidents inside. He also does great outside left alone and has never tried to run away. Bosa has always been an only dog so we not sure how he’d get along with another but I would think he would be just fine. He truly is a great dog but just doesn’t seem very happy here. It’s not fair to him to keep him around a very rambunctious household when all he wants to do is relax in the peace. Our kids also play a lot of sports that keeps us away on the weekends and he’s not a fan at all of going to the kennel. He’s also protective of his household and doesn’t like people coming to care for him when we’re not here. Please let me know if you have any questions about Bosa or if you would like to meet him! He’s a real cool dude!
