Story
Right up front… We received a sponsorship donation to help with Andys adoption fee, so it’s been reduced to $400. Andy is a lovable dog who will never leave your side. He likes long walks and loves to sniff anything and everything along the way! Loves to give kisses. Becomes overwhelmed Easily if his boundaries or territories are crossed. House broken, crate trained, needs a fenced in yard. Definitely more suited for a one-dog owner. Cats are ok, and maybe adult kids, he is curious about other dogs ( I can talk you through that) but he can become easily triggered, through car glass, fencing, and protective over his family. He’s very Protective over his home and his people. Needs time to warm up to new people and he likes to feel like he is in charge, being an Alpha which needs to controlled and put in his place, but once he is comfortable, he will be your best friend and trusted companion for life. Very low-maintenance otherwise, although he’s a very hairy guy, brushing is a must. Can be left alone for long periods of time - does not chew or get into anything he's not supposed to. Likes to be right next to you on the couch and the bed. Well-trained - knows place, down, stay, sit, and working on heel. Loves peanut butter as a treat. We transport every other week to a location near you with the most animal friendly transport - Rescue Riders Transport.

Story
My name is Tatum. I am a Red Heeler/ American Shepard/ Boxer mix. I am between 1 and 2 years old. I am very young and sweet. I am very loving but also skittish of strangers at first. I like other animals but they don't like me because I'm very hyper and I have a lot of energy. I think I'm a lap dog. I don't understand that I'm big. I need a big place to run and be walked regularly so I can run off my energy and be your buddy in the house. I am kennel trained mostly. And potty trained somewhat. But I will need you to keep working on that with me. I would say I'm probably better with older kids and adults just because I'm so hyper. As I get older and get room to run I will get better with that. I am very lovable and sweet. I am a people pleaser. I want to do whatever you want me too. I just need you to help me understand whatever it is you want me to do. If you are interested in adopting me contact contact bakerbridgerescue@aol.com. I look forward to seeing and meeting you, my adopter, soon. If you are interested in adopting, please email Bakerbridgerescue@aol.com and ask for an application, once approved we will call you. Story
Ralphie is a male dog. He is very sweet, although very hyper. He is a good boy. He weighs about 60 pounds. He is brown and black with beautiful long legs. He is very vocal. He loves walks and play time. He loves his toys as well. He prefers stuffed toys bout the rubber toys work better because he destroys the stuffed ones fairly easy and soon. He desires his very own special family with less animals so he can have more attention on him. He craves people time and lots of affection. He rides well in the vehicle. He's very eager to please. He's very trainable if he has someone to work with him on a regular basis. He needs to be worked with on potty training. He walks on a leash but is still in the early stages of learning not to pull and walk the walker. He gets along with other animals, dogs and cats, but he does need time to warm up to them before they are just turned loose together. I would suggest slow, short introductions to start with and go from there. He has has all his vaccinations and is heart worm negative. He is on monthly heart worm prevention. He has been microchipped so if he were to get away from you, you will have a better of chance finding him. He is neutered. He is roughly 2 to 3 years old. He loves kids, but I would suggest older kids due to his young age and overly hyper tendencies. He loves to jump high and run. It would be great if he could have an area to run and play with his family so he doesn't have to worry about getting away or having any accidents. A fence of some sort would be ideal. He is food aggressive. I believe he had been deprived of food in the past and that is why he is this way. I do believe he can be worked with on this and in time it will cease. In my opinion, he just needs to know he doesn't have to fight for his food and his food is available when he is hungry. Other than that, I have never heard him growl or show unhappiness. If interested in adopting me contact bakerbridgerescue@aol.com. We transport every other week via Rescue Riders Transport to a location near you. We have the most animal friendly transport ever. Thank you for considering us and me.

Story
This story is from Kevins rescuer, the police officer. We got a call about a puppy being tied on a vacant properties porch and possibly someone trespassing on the property. Once I arrived on the property, no one could be located, but the puppy was tied to a porch railing and left with no food or water. I contacted John with Baker Bridge Rescue who agreed to help me, of which I was very grateful. I then secured the pup shortly after. A couple folks floating on the river were very relieved to see the dog being taken care of!. Since getting Kevin home with us, he has gained weight and found that people can be good. He is learning potty training and playing with the other dogs. He loves playing with toys. If you are interested in learning more about Kevin (puppy), please email BakerBridgeRescue@aol.com and ask for an application. Once we review it, we will call you. We transport every other week to a location near you with the most animal friendly transport - Rescue Riders Transport.

Story
We are looking for a home for Maggie Mae… she’s a red and white husky, 1-2 years old, current on all vaccinations, flea & tick, & heart worm. She is currently being treated for Lyme disease. She microchipped and her lifetime registration for microchipping is paid for. She also has QR code tags. She is also spayed. She has had many homes in her short life and we suspect she’s experienced abuse. She was been in a car accident that led to her beautiful tail being amputated. She’s sweet and loves people. She will do best in a home where she is the only animal and the yard is fenced. Please slack me directly if you know anyone who might be interested. Need to find her a home asap! She's currently located near Hagerstown, MD.
