You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- ROSA IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Rosa is a mature adult Rotteweiler who may be 7-9 years old and weighs about 90 pounds. Even though Rosa was missing some hair and hasn't been taken the best care of, someone taught her how to sit and shake hands. She's a sensitive girl who was been upset by losing her family and is comforted by the presense of her foster mom. She would even happier in her very own home with a new family!Rosa is a strong girl who will need a physically capable adopter as she can pull pretty hard on leash. She has been reactive to other dogs and cats in her foster home so being an only child will set her up to be the most successful! We know there are so many great people out there how love rotties! We just need to find one that will give Rosa the happy ending we want for her!A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Rosa, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other 'slow to adopt' dogs!Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Story
🐾 Juice – 1.5‑Year‑Old Bully Mix With a Heart of Gold Juice is a 1½‑year‑old bully mix who embodies everything people love about this breed: sweetness, loyalty, and a deep desire to bond with his person. He’s a gentle, affectionate boy who has never shown any aggression toward people and greets everyone with soft eyes and a hopeful tail wag. Like many young bully mixes, Juice has plenty of energy and enthusiasm, especially on leash, but he’s already improving with guidance and consistency. Once he’s had a chance to move his body, he settles beautifully — his favorite thing is stretching out in the backyard sunshine and relaxing like the chill companion he truly is. Because he’s still learning manners and can be a bit bouncy, Juice would do best in a home with no small children (due to energy and enthusiasm) but would do fine with older, dog savvy kids who understand his playful energy. He hasn’t had full play sessions with other dogs yet, but he has walked calmly past them and sniffed through a fence without any issues, showing potential for slow, thoughtful introductions. Juice is the kind of dog who just wants someone to love him. He’s sweet, eager to please, and ready to thrive with a person who can give him structure, patience, and plenty of affection. If you’re looking for a young bully mix with a gentle heart and tons of potential, Juice is waiting to meet you.

If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   08/11/2026 - Videos: Melon standing for treats. Melon, the pretty girl. MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Melon, and I arrived at CSAC from a shelter. I was taken to a shelter by my former owner. The CSAC volunteer said that I was very sweet and loved to sit in her husband's lap or on his feet during my freedom ride. I need a home that will help me lose a few pounds, but as a senior girl, my walking will be limited. I do like to stand up and dance around on my hind legs. I want a calm household that will love me for the rest of my days and become my new cuddle buddy. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished pet. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen.
