Story
Carson came to us from a puppy mill farm that closed down. He lived in a 10x10 run since he was a puppy with little human interaction. He is shy and timid but has learned so much in the little bit of time we have had him. He is a sweet deserving guy that will blossom with a patient family that can introduce him to life outside of a 10x10 run. He is looking for stability and someone to love. He would benefit from living with a female dog companion who can help show him what home life is like.

Story
Violet came to us from a kill shelter with Diesel who has already been adopted. Violet has been waiting for a year now to find her family. She is so deserving and loving. Violet is a young, bouncy, happy girl, who is ready for family to love her. Violet would be happiest being the only dog in the home where she can get all the attention she deserves. Violet is a sweet, affectionate, smaller girl at 60lbs. and approximately a year and a half old. She is looking for a family with a fenced in yard and no small animals please. *********************************** If you are interested in ADOPTING or FOSTERING, please complete an application by cutting & pasting the following link: https://form.jotform.com/60794585351161 Or visit CHAAMP.org to access the Adoption/Foster link and learn about the process. https://www.chaamp.org/adoption-process Your application tells us about your lifestyle and helps us find a potential match for you and your family. We are happy to work with you. For example, if you don't have a fence, we can help find alternatives and/or a dog that will do well without a fence. A home visit is required prior to adoption/fostering. You can visit the malamute(s) once you've completed the process. Alternatively, you may volunteer and learn how rewards-based training brings out the best in malamutes. ********************************* CHAAMP accepts applications from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC. ADOPTION FEES ~Senior dogs (8+ years old): $100.00 ~Adult dogs (2 years up to 8): $300.00 ~Puppies (6 months - 2 years): $350.00 ~Puppies under 6 months: $375 All Malamutes are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up-to-date on vaccines. Puppy fees are higher due to more vet visits and vaccines. The adoption fee helps us cover these costs. ********************************* We highly recommend the following links that you will need to cut and paste: Kathy Sdao’s SMART x 50 (Capture & Reward Good Behavior) https://babysafedogtraining.com/kathy-sdaos-smart-x-50-another-way-to-use-1000-treats/ Building Your Dog's Confidence by Victoria Stilwell (FREE Online Course) https://www.vsdogtrainingacademy.com/enroll/demo/ Shy Adopters Guide https://www.shelterdogplay.org/_files/ugd/7c885c_2f9fe1f87ea24376912b6e0b18e41998.pdf ********************************* CHAAMP is not a shelter and is run by 100% volunteers. CHAAMP is a proud rescue member of the Pet Professional Guild. We say no thank you to Shock, Prong, Choke, Pain, Force, and Fear. We understand safety is important to prevent being pulled by malamutes who were born to pull. We are happy to share options and other equipment to help you both be safe. Story
Charlie Is Looking for the Right FitCharlie has had a bit of a journey looking for his forever home, and we’re hoping the next stop will truly be the one.Charlie was originally adopted in Florida as a companion for a couple who traveled in a truck. Unfortunately, Charlie quickly made it clear that life on the road wasn’t for him. His family was heartbroken when they made the difficult decision to surrender him to us.Charlie was adopted again, and his new family loved him very much. However, Charlie is an insecure boy who can become uncomfortable when unfamiliar people enter his home. He would sometimes growl, which made his adopters uneasy. After talking with them about training and giving Charlie time to adjust, they ultimately decided that finding him another home was the best choice for everyone. We don`t believe Charlie is an aggressive dog. We believe he was trying to protect his home and simply needs someone to help him understand that he doesn`t have to take on that job. He will need a patient adopter who is willing to work with him and teach him how to appropriately greet unfamiliar people. Training would be a wonderful way to help Charlie build confidence and learn what is expected of him.Charlie has been a very good boy with us, and we immediately redirect any behavior that isn’t appropriate. Charlie is only 3½ years old, handsome, and almost entirely house trained. He seems to do well with other dogs and especially prefers women. He would do best in a quiet home with someone who is home much of the time. He gets the occasional case of the zoomies and would love a fenced yard, although he’d probably be happy with a trip to the dog park now and then.We don`t know everything Charlie has experienced in his past, but we do know this: he deserves someone who will give him the time, patience, and guidance he needs to become the confident dog we know he can be.Charlie isn’t looking for a perfect person. He’s looking for his person - someone willing to understand him, teach him, and give him the chance to finally feel safe and secure.

Story
Meet the Cats of Gettysburg at the Kitty Corner by Forever Love Rescue AFFECTIONATE AND PLAYFUL My name is Star. My estimated date of birth is 7/22/2021. I am very affectionate! I love to be the center of attention, and won't allow you much personal space. I enjoy lounging and will sit on your lap. I am energetic and enjoy playing. I am a black and white Pit Bull. I am 85 lbs. Due to my size, I would do best in a home without young children or frail adults. I am good with older, considerate children. *** A courtesy post means this cat is NOT a part of Forever Love Rescue. We are trying to help a fellow rescuer find a home for this cat. We accept the adoption application, assist in processing the application, and then all communication will be handled by the private rescuer onwards. We do not attest to the information they provide, or to the health or vet care of the cat. Specific questions about this cat should be emailed to us at foreverloverescue@gmail.com so we can forward them to the appropriate person! ***Meet the #CatsOfGettysburg - Apply to adopt at bit.ly/AdoptFLR and we will help you find the purr-fect kitty for your family!  Visit dozens of our adoptable cats and kittens at our Kitty Corner adoption center 39 Queen St in historic Gettysburg PA on any Saturday or Sunday from 11am-3pm.  All of the cats listed are located in or near Gettysburg unless otherwise noted. Please note that while we work hard to keep our available cats up to date we also have many  that are not posted yet.  Adoption fees are $60 for adult cats and kittens over 6 months old, $100 for kittens (under 6 months) and $30 for senior cats (7 years+) to help cover vet bills for spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, testing, microchips and preventatives.  No cat will be officially adopted without being spayed/neutered and vaccinated (unless there are health risks in doing so).  We highly recommend adopting kittens in pairs and we do discount for double adoptions here to encourage it.   We are always in need of donations to help us continue to save hundreds of cats and kittens every year.  Visit bit.ly/DonateFLR for more info. Story
Adoptable Zena is a sweet almost two year old that is ready for her happily ever after with a family that is active and like to take their pups with them in activities. She loves the car, hiking, biking and any activities that are dog friendly. She would also like chilling in the AC too! She could possibly live with a smaller male four legged companion after a meet and greet. If your interested in learning more, reach out to us today!
