Opal was brought to the shelter after she was found abandoned in an apartment. We are not sure why Opal was left behind, but she is now looking for her forever home where she will stay for the rest of her life and be spoiled the way she deserves! Opal can be shy at first with strangers but does warm up and enjoys getting attention! Opal may do best as the only dog in the home. She loves going on walks and going out to the play yard to sniff! She does know sit, and down. She is willing to please especially if there are treats involved! Opal is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. We have to talk about Bruno! He is a sweet guy that will need a special home (Or an approved Rescue). Bruno is blind and does have an odd way to walk due to a neurological disorder. His whole world was turned upside down when he was surrendered to the shelter because his owner could no longer care for him. He was very confused and needed a little extra help adjusting to shelter life. Bruno has made strides since his arrival and is a happy guy! He enjoys getting attention and is a very lovable guy! He enjoys going for walks, he does need some help navigating around objects but otherwise he does very well! Bruno will need someone that understands that he is a special guy and is able to work with him to help him adjust to a new home environment. Bruno would do best in an adult only home. He is possessive of his food around other animals but who can blame him when he cannot see what they are doing around him and if they are going to take his food away from him or not? He will need to be fed separately if he goes into a home with other animals. Bruno does have a history of an ear infections and will need someone that can keep up with them. Bruno would love to find his loving forever home soon! He has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/lyme tested, and microchipped since his arrival at the shelter. He has lived with kids, cats, and other dogs and did well with them in the home. He loves getting attention and loves to get treats! Remi knows sit, down, and walks well on a leash. He does seem to have some sensitive skin but a change in his food and a good, medicated bath has helped him immensely! Remi would love to have a second chance at a loving forever home soon! Fergie arrived at the shelter as a stray. When she arrived, she had a very large mass hanging off of her right shoulder. It has since been removed and sent out for testing. The mass came back as a noncancerous tumor and removal of it was complete. Fergie feels much better since that pendulous weight has been removed from her shoulder! Fergie is around 6 years old and has had bloodwork that indicated that she is hypothyroid. She is starting a course of medication that is relatively affordable and will need to be on it most likely for the rest of her life. Due to this she will need someone that understands that they will have to work closely with a veterinarian to ensure that bloodwork is done regularly to keep her thyroid levels where they should be. Fergie is a sweet girl with a gentle soul and would love to find her loving forever home soon! She has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm/lyme tested, and microchipped since her arrival at the shelter. Don Juan is a sweet guy that would love to find out what a loving forever home is all about! He is a rolly polly guy that has the best `radar ears`! This lovable lug does need regular exercise and loves to go on walks! He is working on his leash manners and is doing well with his training. Don Juan does not seem to mind other dogs although a proper introduction is needed. He was interested in the cat when it walked away from him, but he was able to be distracted. Don Juan may be too much for small children due to his energy level. He had tested positive for Lyme but is going through treatment due to symptoms. Don Juan would love to find his forever home soon!
