Story
Groot was purchased from a pet store in Chambersburg, PA. a very loving soul that loves to give hugs as well as recieve them. Groot views an other dogs as challenges. He does not get along w/ other dogs at all and thats a problem given his size. He loves people, of all ages and has never shown an aggressive nature to anyone of any age. Loved kids and is very gentle around toddlers and babies (like he knows). Loves to hike (when it;s not to hot or cold). Loves walks. Wants to say hi to everyone. Is ok in a car, especially if someone is free to give rubs. Does suffer from anxiety and occasional bites at his butt and gives himself scabs. We have a cone for these times. Would be a great only dog as he will bark at unidentified knocks at the door and it;s deep and loud. Would easily warn of intruders (until he licked them to death, but they dont know that). This is destroyed my family but is necessary. Hes a big dog w/ big love to give, to loving people.

Meet Bear! This handsome pup has been with us for over a whopping 700 days and is still looking for his forever home! Bear would do best in a home with structured routine that he would be able to learn and adapt to. He is a dog that seeks guidance, and would do best with an owner willing to dedicate more time to his training and keeping him active. Bear does not do well with other dogs and cats and would do best as the only pet in the home. He has done well with older children but may be too rowdy for young kids. Bear loves to be outside on walks or exploring in the shelter's yards. He has made a lot of progress with his leash walking and does better on a harness opposed to a collar. He is a master at certain tricks, especially when he gets a treat in return! Bear currently knows sit, down, paw, and leave it. He is a very eager to learn dog and would thrive in a home that is planning to keep his brain as active as his body! Bear is a fantastic running and play partner and is always down to hang out with his people. He loves belly rubs and ear scratches and is just a bundle of fun to be around! If you are interested in Bear, or think he may be a good fit for your home, feel free to stop by and meet him and apply to adopt! Bear is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Story
Madison came to us as a stray in May 2023 after she was found running loose and is looking for an energetic home to call her own! Madison is a very go, go, go pup and would love to find a family that will help her get all that energy out! She loves to zoom around the yard and chase stuffie toys around. Madison needs work on her leash manners but is always excited to take a ride in the car or to be out and about! Madison has not done well with cats or dogs while in our care and would do best as the only animal in the home. She is extremely selective with other dogs but we would be open to having a dog meet-and-greet depending on the circumstances. Madison is very rowdy and does not always realize her size. When she wants attention she will hop up or run into you in her excitement. She may not be the best fit for a home with young children, or children not use to very energetic dogs. Staff has been working with Madison on her manners and her basic training, and while she is picky on the treats she likes, she is always happy to get butt scratches! Madison currently knows sit and is eager to learn more! If you think this little lady would be a good fit for your home, stop by and meet her today! Madison is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Story
Meet Patton! This handsome boy came to us in May 2023 after staff discovered him abandoned in the shelter's play yard overnight. Patton has spent a good bit of time with us working on some of his behavior and is ready to find his forever home! Patton would do best in a patient but structured home so he can continue to work on manners and training. Patton has been unfortunately very anxious in the kennel and does not always show the best behind a barrier due to this. He can also be shy at first when meeting new people but has been working hard so he can show everyone how loveable he can be! With a little time and the help of treats, Patton is a very snuggly dog. He loves giving kisses and hugs and especially enjoys belly rubs! He rides well in the car and walks nicely on leash as well. Patton loves his treats but does prefer to get attention above everything else. Patton will need some continued training with his manner so he can learn that he gets even more love when all four paws stay on the ground! Tough, durable toys are Patton's best friend as he does like to really toss around and chew his toys. He loves relaxing with a chew or treat filled kong when it is time for him to settle down. Patton will need to be the only animal in his forever home. He has plenty of love to give to make up for it, though! We would also recommend that he does not go to a home with any young children but we will consider potential adopters who have older kids. Stop by and meet Patton if this boy sounds like a good fit for you! Patton is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Story
Tango came to us as a stray in June 2023 with two other dogs and is looking for a home to call his own! Tango is a ball of energy and would love to find a home where he can get all that energy out! This three year old boy loves to give kisses and hugs, and butt scratches are the way to his heart! We have not seen Tango around small dogs but he has done well with other large male and female dogs. He has done well with the shelter's office cats, but can be further tested upon request! We would recommend that Tango does not go to a home with children and would do best in a home with older teenage children or adults only. Tango still needs some work on his basic training and leash manners but is very treat-motivated and ready to learn! He is a big fan of stuffed and squeaky toys and loves to run around the shelter's yard for play time! If you are looking for a pup that would love to keep you company and give you plenty of kisses, Tango is your boy! Tango is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Availability date: 07/25/2023
