Story
I took Monty in June of 2023 after the death of a close friend resulted in him being in a home where the remaining residents could not care for him. He was 4 months old, and I already had a 10 month old Belgium Malinois but we have been doing our best to make it work. My situation has changed and I can no longer care for 2 high drive dogs, and they both need/deserve more personal attention to their individual training. Monty is now 15 months old (birthday March 1st of 2023.) He is a little shy but opens up to be playful, loving dog who is quick to learn and enjoys following commands. He loves being outdoors, especially at the beach or large grassy fields. I have not had to teach him to stay close by/check in with me, he has always done that on his own. Although we have been dealing with reactivity issues towards other dogs, he is responding well to exposure training. Monty would do well in a home with someone with German Shepherd experience who has the time to focus on training.

Story
Hi there!  My name is Bella and I'm a 9-year old, spayed German Shepherd that currently weighs about 65lbs.  I'm a sweetheart that's looking for a forever home! Don't let my 'old age' fool you, I'm still a spunky girl who loves to run! I am great at doing zommies and I will slid in for belly rubs! I'm a smart cookie that enjoys working on my training, especially if you have some nice treats to offer. I love to hang out and chew on my toys once I've gotten some energy out by playing fetch. I prefer human attention over dog friends but I've been able to coexist with neutral/mellow dogs. I may be a senior but I'm still a spry active lady and would do best in a home with doggy savvy kids. For more information, just ask Customer Service about Bella!  ID# A924534Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010. Story
FOSTER CARE! Hello, my name is Kurlys!  I'm a 1 and a half year old, neutered male, German Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute mix that currently weighs about 80lbs.  I'm still a growing boy so I'll do best with a family that is prepared for a very large dog. I'm a curious boy that loves human attention and can't wait to make new friends.  If you have a resident dog, please make sure we have a chance to say hello before adding me to your family. I still have a lot to learn so I'm hoping for a family that is prepared to continue my training and give me lots of exercise! I'm a good boy who already know sit, down and shake (both front paws). I get a little bit stressed when I'm left alone so I would do best with a family that understands I need a little extra attention. For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Kurlys! ID# A940881 My foster family thinks that I am the bees knees! Here's what they had to say: 'Kurlys is doing great! He's a bit scared of busy areas but he does great on walks around quiet neighborhoods. When he plays with other dogs, he's pretty gentle. He is learning to be alone at home and doing fine for up to an hour.' Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can make arrangements to meet me by emailing behavior@phs-spca.org You may also submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to behavior@phs-spca.org and a staff member will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet me in person. You must be 18 or older to submit a profile.  Application: https://phs-spca.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AdoptionProfiles_dog2023_fillin.pdf *The application may not work on mobile devices and iPads.
