Story
Flint is a 86 pound, 15 month old Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix. This handsome boy is deliciously soft and strikingly handsome. True to his Pyr heritage, he is initially a bit wary of strangers and will bark a little when first meeting new people, so he would do best in a quieter home.
Flint ADORES his people and is a delicious snuggler! His favorite is a cuddle on the couch in the evening, and he does think he's a lap dog! Flint is obsessed with the other dogs in his foster home and would love a canine sibling in his new home. He follows the other dogs in his foster home around and likes to climb on top of them for a cuddle or a wrestle. He is friendly with every dog he meets and enjoys making new friends.
Flint enjoys playing with his toys and can often be found carrying a favorite around with his head held high and whole body wiggling. He is a laid back guy and adores his young, human foster sister and all children he has met. Flint is amazingly gentle with children and small animals and is good with goats, horses, and donkeys too. Flint likes to be outside and would love a home with a fenced yard. His foster family has fostered many dogs, and they truly cannot express enough how amazing this boy is!
He is crate trained, housetrained, walks well on leash, comes when called, and knows "sit". Flint is food motivated and very trainable. It would truly be hard to find a sweeter or more handsome boy than Flint! He is one of a kind!!
Moving to a new home will be a transition for him, so he is looking for a loving and patient family that understands this. In return, once he settles in, they will truly have a best friend for life!
Flint does have elbow dysplasia and needs to stay on joint supplements, but this does not slow him down, and he still enjoys his playtime.

Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog.
We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources.
