Story
Hi, I’m Lambo — but don’t let the name fool you. I’m more of a slow cruise than a speed racer. I’m a 3-year-old, 85-pound Pyrenees mix with a heart as big as my paws. People say I’m gentle, chill, and great with other dogs — and I’ll admit, they’re not wrong. I’m not looking for much — just a safe home, a soft place to rest, and family to love me. If you’re looking for a loyal, mellow giant who knows how to take it easy and love deeply, I might just be your forever co-pilot. Please consider giving me the forever home I so deserve! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Hey there, I’m Bailor, an 85-pound bundle of love and fluff! I’m a 3-year-old Pyrenees mix, and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I love giving hugs. Seriously, it’s my favorite thing to do! If you’re looking for a big, happy, silly pup who will wrap you up in the best doggy embraces, then I think we’re meant to be. I’m a super sweet and friendly guy who loves hanging out with other dogs and spreading joy wherever I go. I may be a big boy, but I’m just a goofball at heart! I can be a little clumsy, so I’m not a good fit for a home with tiny humans—I wouldn’t want to knock them over with my excitement! But if you’ve got space for me to play, lounge, and, of course, give hugs, I’ll be the happiest pup around. I still need to gain a little bit of weight, but that just means I need some good meals and a loving family. If you’re looking for a big, sweet, happy-go-lucky dog to fill your days with laughter and love, then I just might be your guy. I’ve got a hug waiting just for you! Story
Roscoe is a handsome 7 month old, 80 lb Great Pyrenees/Shepherd mix. His markings are extremely striking, and he is deliciously fluffy. True to his Pyrenees heritage, he is a little wary of new people but a total love once he gets to know you. He absolutely melts when he gets pet and loves snuggles! He will put his big head in your lap and look at you with his puppy eyes, and you will be instantly smitten. Roscoe loves his toys and likes to take them all out of the toy box to play with. This darling is still a pup and does occasionally need redirection from things he should not be chewing on. This big boy adores his canine friends and loves every dog he meets. He can be a bit anxious when alone but is fine if he has a canine companion, so he does need a home with another dog. He is great with children but is a big puppy, so it is best if they are used to big dogs! He is fostered on a farm and is also good with goats, donkeys, and horses! Roscoe is good on the leash, 98% housetrained, and sleeps through the night. He is smart, food motivated, and very trainable. Roscoe is great about coming when called and is eager to please. This charmer is sure to melt your heart!! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     6m old fun Bernie from Arkansas.  Meet Bernie! A STUNNING 6 month old medium to large mixed breed from Arkansas with the goofiest grin and the softest fur you have ever encountered. Bernie is eager to serve as both your couch-surfing and running partner. His personality is enthusiastic but gentle. He loves to play but exercises such caution when playing with even his tiniest friends. He would be a great family dog as he LOVES children of all sizes. He would also do well with a pup sibling as he ADORES play dates. With the right training, we think he has what it takes to be a therapy dog. He sits when asked. shows a desire to learn commands, and we’re very proud of how well he walks on leash. He has not yet been cat tested, so we are unsure as to how he would cohabitate with a feline friend though he is a gentle-natured boy for a puppy his size.  All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.
