I’m doing well with potty training when kept on a tight schedule, and I sleep through the night in my crate. I already know “sit." Sometimes I get SO excited to see people that I just have to jump up and give kisses—but I’m learning that all four paws are supposed to stay on the floor. Apparently humans have rules about these things.I’m learning to love walks! There is just SO MUCH to smell and see! Sometimes I need a little encouragement to remember that we're actually supposed to keep walking instead of investigating every single interesting thing, but I’m getting the hang of it.I’m also finding my voice! I’ve started experimenting with my bark and figuring out all the different things I might need to tell my humans about. I have important opinions, you know!Did someone say TREATS?! I love treats of every kind and am VERY food motivated, which makes training me pretty fun! I especially love figuring out how to get treats out of my Kong toys.And toys? Give me ALL of them! Squeaky toys and anything I can play tug with are especially awesome.But underneath all that enthusiasm, I’m a snuggler. Meet Tokyo! Tokyo is a sweet, playful husky/mix. He loves people, gets along great with other dogs, and wants to be your little shadow! He may be a bit shy at first, but warms up into a loyal companion who loves snuggling after playtime. He’s an exceptional car rider! He is food motivated, He is learning basic commands with treats, doing well on a leash, and responds nicely to redirection. He’s already sleeping through the night in his kennel without accidents! Potty training is going well - he's using puppy pads and reliably goes outside when taken out. He’ll need patience and consistency as he continues learning. He’s also learning to feel comfortable spending time alone. Gets along great with other dogs; a buddy would be a bonus, but isn’t required. He currently barks at and chases the resident cats. I think he can be better with training as he's easily redirected.
