I sweet pup weighing in at 43 pounds, and bursting with joyful enthusiasm!I'm just starting to discover the world outside my home, and am easily intimidated, but I sure am curious!I'm doing great with potty training if you keep me on a schedule, and make it through the night in my crate. I am really good with the command "sit", pretty good at "off", and working on "leave it" and "drop it". I often get so excited it's hard not to jump up and say hi and give kisses, but I'm working on it. I'm starting to enjoy walks. There's just SO much to smell and see that I have to be encouraged to keep moving forward, but I'm getting the hang of it. I'm finding my voice and experimenting with letting my humans know about different things with my bark.I love treats of every kind and am highly food motivated. Its so fun to figure out how to get the treats out of my kong toys! I love all the toys, but especially things that squeak or I can play tug with!Even though I'm pretty frisky, I sure do love a snuggle with my humans, or a nice belly rub!I'm just waiting for the right family to come along, who can appreciate my exuberant spirit, and help mold me into the perfect fit for your family! Haku means "pure" in Japanese! I was named for my pure, passionate and overwhelming love for everyone around me! I came to the rescue when my dad was stationed in Japan and heartbroken that he couldn't take me with him. I've missed him so much ever since! Everyday I do the things I did with him with other dogs so I can try and remember what it felt like to be with him! But it's just not the same. So, I'm hoping a new family can come scoop me up and show me what it feels like to be a part of a home and family again! I am good with other dogs, I love playing chase with them or tugging on chew toys. I'll need a happy and active home so that my life will be full of love and fun! I am a bit anxious and nervous around new people, and people in general! Slow introductions, a safe space I can retreat to like a crate and not forcing me into spaces with tons of people will help me be myself all the time! Haku can only be adopted in the local or TX area. Local adoption only, in San Antonio or TX area, $200.
