Story
A portion of Daisy's adoption fee has been sponsored by her friends at The Murray Fund. Hi I'm Daisy! From the Foster: Daisy is one of the most incredible dogs I have ever known. Anyone would be lucky to have her in their life, and in the right environment, Daisy shines more than any dog I have ever known. The key for Daisy is to set her up for success, and the right environment is going to be the first step. Daisy is a typical husky when it comes to her hilarious personality, intelligence and vocal nature. She also loves to sing the songs of her ancestors and bring out her stubborn side, especially when asked to come inside in the middle of a snowstorm. Daisy has some anxiety and reactivity to noises, commotion, and other dogs. Living in a quieter environment will be key to helping her have a more relaxed approach to daily life and not have all the noises of things like city life right outside her door, making her on high alert. This means no shared walls for sure, and a space that is a bit more private. A private fenced-in yard? A more rural home without close neighbors? Some land she can sniff and explore? Yes!! This would be Daisy's dream :). Daisy is also dog selective. This means she needs to decide which dogs she wants to be friends with, allowing the proper time and space to do so. She won't be a dog park kind of dog, or a social butterfly at dog-friendly breweries, etc. She prefers male dogs, has bonded very well with previous male puppies we've fostered, and is the best of friends with my male husky mix. She is not cat friendly, so a home without cats is ideal. I would love to see Daisy with an adopter who understands her needs when it comes to her reactivity and anxiety; someone who is open to continuing to help her with training, but who also understands that this is part of who Daisy is. She's a wonderful girl and has come so far while with me, and I'm sure will continue to improve in lessening her anxiety and reactivity. Daisy would love an active family who wants to do all the things with their doggy BFF like hiking trails, checking out camping sites, and going for runs in the snow. She would love to try skijoring, bikejoring, canicross, agility, etc. It takes a little extra planning to do all these things in a place where she can be more comfortable and not surrounded by a lot of other people and dogs, but that little extra planning is so worth it!! Daisy's favorite moments are when she's outside in a private environment where she can feel safe and at peace. She is a frequent visitor of SniffSpots and other spaces she can enjoy by herself or with her foster brother. To sum it up, Daisy needs someone who is open to meeting her where she is at, and someone who sees and truly believes that Daisy is worth it because she really is. Daisy will change your life for the better if you let her. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $200.00 will be applied during the contract process

Story
From SHH: Hi I'm Venice I came to SHH from Alabama with my 3 puppies! From the foster: Venice is a super sweet girl and has been a great mama so far. She does well with other dogs for the most part, but does have some issues we are working on resource guarding with food and sharing of valuable toys. She would be fine as an only dog, or with a more submissive furry friend where feedings and valuable toys and treats can be enjoyed separately. Speaking of furry friends, Venice will need to be in a home with no cats or other small animals, as she has a very high prey drive and seems to think they are food. She has managed to get rabbits and even a bird while playing in the back yard. She will also require a fenced in yard (if a chain link fence she will need to be monitored while outside as she does know how to climb and can jump high if she finds something of interest). Counters will need to be kept clear of anything good smelling too since she doesn't wait for permission to take food off of them and make it her own. Venice loves to be near her people and snuggle in her down time. We have been working on crate training but she isn't a big fan. I leave her in the bathroom during the day while at work and she seems to be okay with that as long as she has some toys to keep her busy. Overall Venice is small sweet girl just looking to find her forever place to know love and be her best self! Due to her Heartworm she is more mellow at the time being but loves a good run in the yard with her foster sisters. Venice should also not be in a home that has any shared walls, as she does have the famous Husky Howl that comes out when she is unsatisfied with being left alone. **Hello! I'm pending some medical care but still available for adoption. I am currently being treated for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious so your resident pets are not at risk! The treatment for this is 3-4 months long and requires a minimum of 3 appointments and strict rest/restricted activity. I can still be adopted with a contract disclaimer about this care being added. This means my adoption can take place, while SHH still manages the financial responsibility of my heartworm treatment at their Vet Center. Any other medical care needed outside of the specific care covered in the contract disclaimer, would be the responsibility of my new family.**

Hi My name is Meteor and I was adopted but came back to SHH to find a new forever family. From the foster: Meteor (who is actually named Rocco) is a fun energetic boy! He is 85lb and has a beautiful coat. He is completely potty trained and knows a lot of commands (sit, shake, down, wait). He does very well on walks but will go after small animals and is pretty strong when he does. He loves people and does good with other dogs. He hasn't met any kids since he's been with me but the previous owner said he is gentle with them and I believe he would do great! He barks for a little when you put him in his crate but then stops and his perfectly fine after a few minutes. He will occasionally jump on the counter and still has some puppy tendencies. Nothing major tho just due to his size he can easily smell and grab things. He is so much fun and is down to do anything with you. He is loyal and has so much love to give. Rocco also loves his bones and toys. He still has fun puppy energy while being trained already! Overall an extremely loyal boy who just wants to do everything with you. He also sleeps a lot and sleeps all through the night:)

Story
A portion of my adoption fee has been sponsored by my friends at The Murray Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $300.00 will be applied during the contract process. Hi, I'm Pebbles and I came to SHH from Alabama to help find myself and my 5 puppies amazing forever homes! From the foster: Pebbles is one of the easiest dogs I have ever fostered. She is housetrained, lies quietly in her kennel (we don't kennel her often because she is so good when left out), entertains herself with toys when you are busy, doesn't chew on inappropriate items (shoes, paper products, remote controls are all left alone), loves all people, plays well with dogs and will cuddle with you on the couch at night. Almost the perfect dog. Pebbles can often be found lying in our backyard patiently waiting for a squirrel or rabbit to cross her path. She has a high prey drive and can also entertain herself by staring out the window watching for something to move. Because of this, we do not think she should live with cats. Pebbles could benefit from group positive motivational obedience training. Not because she is a problem, but because she is so smart and could really excel. She needs to learn basic commands plus how to walk on a leash without pulling and not to get quite so excited when meeting a new dog. I think she would love agility, flyball, lure coursing, therapy dog training, anything that keeps her mind active. Also mind game toys, scent/nose work, search and rescue would be fun things to do with her. If you are looking for a dog that would excel at sporting activities, this girl is for you. If you just want a loving pet to be your best friend, Pebbles can also be very happy at home with her people. Pebbles gets along very well with dogs, after the initial meet and greet. When she first meets a dog, she gets so excited, she makes a lot of noise, which can be off putting. Off leash, she is fine when meeting a dog. This can be helped with training and learning patience and relaxation. Pebbles is a super sweet girl that needs a home. She will be your best friend and love you forever.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please check below to see what upcoming adoption events I will be attending or apply here for a private meeting.  If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***   DOB: 09/01/2018 Requires another dog in home: No Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: No Okay with children under 12 years old: dog-savvy older kids Weight: 50 pounds Requires a fenced yard:  Yes, needs a tall fence Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, I’m Argos, a very handsome and adventurous adult male Husky. I love to be the first one to do things like walk through an open door, meet new people, or even see if something is edible! Hee, hee!! I also love to roll around, play with my Nerf soccer ball, and chew on toys. I actually like to eat my toys and am possessive of those I’m playing with so I need to be closely supervised because I will bite if a toy is taken away from me. I get along with other dogs, but I have not met any cats, and kids are not a good fit for me. I am a very friendly boy, but I do tend to nibble people to show affection, get attention, or to warn that I don’t like something. I am a typical Husky who not only loves to pull on the leash and run when off leash, but I’m an escape artist too! It’s true, I’ve broken out of a wire crate and even destroyed items in a room…no walls, doors, floors, or anything but still, I will need a securely fenced yard at my new home. I should also not have any shared walls because when I’m left alone or in the kennel/crate I can holler for a couple hours. I am a smart guy who knows what “sit” & “down” mean, and not only am I potty trained, but I am super good about letting you know I need to go out by grabbing my tail! I am also very gentle when it comes to taking treats although I can be a bit picky about them! Hee, hee!! I am a very goofy boy who is simply looking for my fur-ever home with a patient, Husky-savvy family who will love me unconditionally and NEVER give up on me!! Sure, I may take a bit to warm up, but I promise that once I do, I will love you more than you could ever imagine and with proper exercise I am a huge lover who will snuggle like nobody’s business! Love, Argos *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.       ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.   NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.   YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, I’m Sully, a very beautiful & friendly male Husky puppy who everyone in my neighborhood loves! I am a playful boy who loves to greet everyone I meet with kisses, and it must be said that MY kisses are second-to-none! Hee, hee!! I also enjoy going on leashed walks, exploring everything, eating treats, and, since I’m still a teething puppy, I love chewing anything I can get my teeth on so close monitoring is a must to ensure I don’t chew things I shouldn’t! Hee, hee!! I have not met any cats but I’m good with kids and other dogs. As a husky, I can be a bit vocal especially if I’m left in that cave that you human’s call a ‘kennel/crate’, but I do fine in a larger confined area with my chew toys if needed. I am still working on potty training and although it’s coming along nicely, I still have occasional accidents if I’m playing or running too hard so potty pads come in handy. I am a super smart guy who already knows what “sit” and “wait” mean and I learn things quickly so I’m confident that with more practice and a consistent schedule, I will master potty training in no time! All I need now is YOU…an active, patient, husky-savvy fur-ever family who will not only love me unconditionally and NEVER give on me but who will enjoy my vocalizations. I promise I am totally worth it and I will love you more than you could EVER imagine!! Love, Sully I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters.  Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter.  Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society.   Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized.  If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses.  Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend.
