Story
Cookee's Story Cookee is a beautiful 2-year-old, 47-lb red and white Husky who came to us after being surrendered by her previous owner through no fault of her own. This sweet girl has a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s friendly, affectionate, and always ready for attention, but like many young Huskies, she has lots of energy and can be a bit hyper at times. Cookee enjoys being active and will thrive with an adopter who can give her plenty of exercise, structure, and consistency. She does pull strongly on the leash, so continued training will help her learn better walking manners. With patience and positive reinforcement, she has great potential to be an amazing companion. She may even understand some Spanish commands! As a true Husky, Cookee is curious and clever—two traits that make this breed famous for their escape-artist skills. Because of this, she will require a securely fenced yard where she can safely run and play. Husky experience is strongly preferred to ensure she goes to a home that understands the breed’s energy, intelligence, and need for stimulation. Cookee is ready to find an active, loving family who will give her the time, training, and adventure she deserves. We are now accepting applications for Cookee. 🐾 Please apply for Cookee at https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50

Story
Meet Blizzard! He is a 7-year-old Husky boy who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. ❤️ This sweet guy is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and 100% housetrained. He has lived with children and cats and has done wonderfully with both. He also does well around other dogs. He is a friendly and affectionate dog who enjoys being around his people and is happy to be part of the family. His current family loves him very much, but their child has autism and is very sensitive to the constant licking and the amount of hair that comes with a long-haired Husky, so they have made the difficult decision to find him a home that is a better fit for everyone. Like many Huskies, he has a beautiful long coat, which also means regular brushing and plenty of shedding—so his future family should be prepared for the fluff that comes with such a gorgeous dog! He would do best with a family who understands the Husky breed, enjoys having a loyal companion, and doesn’t mind a little extra hair around the house. If you’re looking for a sweet, well-mannered, house-trained companion, he could be the perfect addition to your family. 📩 Please reach out if you’re interested in giving this wonderful boy the loving home he deserves. 🐾 He is currently being fostered in Mississippi but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal friendly transport on the road!

Meet Ghoat. He’s being fostered in east TN. Out of state welcome for additional fee. We transport to the Greta lakes and northeast areas east areas. We use rescue riders for all our pet transport needs. Ghost had a home but unfortunately his owner could not longer care for him. He’s a really sweet pup. He loves attention and will come rest his head on your lap for petting and ear scratches. He gets along with most all other dogs big and small young or old. He is very playful and has lots of energy. He seems to be a husky mix. He has the curled husky tail and the coat of a medium coated husky but he also looks like he could be mixed with another breed. He’s not very big and only around 45 lbs. he’s a year old so he should not get much bigger. He probably will top out around 50-55 lbs. he is crate trained and house trained and walks well on a leash. He is a just a little shy when meeting new people and it doesn’t take long for him to warm up. He is one smart and sweet pup! Apply petpath.org

Story
Carson aka Flash is still waiting for his perfect person. He came in as a stray last JUNE! That`s to long for any dog to wait but it is an absolute mystery as to why a stunner like this would sit. Carson is a comedian in a fur coat. He will give you hours of entertainment and he has his breed to thank for that. Thanks to the volunteer group the mystery of his interesting looks has been solved with a DNA test. Beautiful looks and comedic personality along with his high drive is attributed to........81% husky, 19% malamute!!If your familiar with these breeds, then you`ll totally understand this boy. We will not place him in a hope with small children due to his rough play and high energy. Unsure how he will do with another dog, but we do require a meet and greet if you already have a dog in the home. Due to his prey drive we don`t recommend small dog or cats for this guy. Carson does keep a clean kennel and doesn`t protest a wire crate, so we suspect Housebroken and crate trained. Come meet this boy if this guy sounds like a dog you would enjoy.
