Story
Iceberg was brought to ACCT Philly on December 28, 2025 after police observed him abandoned on a highway. This young husky was found alone, with no owner information available, and was transported safely to the shelter. Upon intake, Iceberg appeared lethargic and was quickly sent for further medical care to ensure he received the support he needed.
Since arriving at the shelter, Iceberg has shown himself to be a gentle and sweet dog who is still adjusting to the kennel environment. He can be nervous and somewhat fearful in his kennel, especially with transitions like doorways, but he warms up quickly once out and about. Outside of the kennel, Iceberg’s friendly personality shines through—he enjoys affection, seeks out gentle pets and butt rubs, and has been described as very easy to handle despite his size. He has shown playful, bouncy energy when meeting other dogs and continues to build confidence with positive experiences and kind handling.

⭐Behavioral Notes
Per volunteer 1/4: I had iceberg out for the photoshoot on 1/4. Iceberg was very easy to leash and get out of kennel. He is friendly and sweet when out of kennel and in the runs- trying to solicit affection and butt rubs. Despite his size he is very gentle.

Fearful in kennel, sitting in the back and would not come to the front door but easily leashed when I used the back door of the kennel. He was nervous walking through doorways on the way to the office but warmed up quickly once in the office! Approached staff with loose body, allowed handling for harnessing, and rolled on his back for belly rubs. He got right in the car for his day trip and was much more confident just 5-10 minutes after leaving the kennel!
