Story
Meet Ghoat. He’s being fostered in east TN. Out of state welcome for additional fee. We transport to the Greta lakes and northeast areas east areas. We use rescue riders for all our pet transport needs. Ghost had a home but unfortunately his owner could not longer care for him. He’s a really sweet pup. He loves attention and will come rest his head on your lap for petting and ear scratches. He gets along with most all other dogs big and small young or old. He is very playful and has lots of energy. He seems to be a husky mix. He has the curled husky tail and the coat of a medium coated husky but he also looks like he could be mixed with another breed. He’s not very big and only around 45 lbs. he’s a year old so he should not get much bigger. He probably will top out around 50-55 lbs. he is crate trained and house trained and walks well on a leash. He is a just a little shy when meeting new people and it doesn’t take long for him to warm up. He is one smart and sweet pup!

Story
Rin is a very loving hyper husky. He was given to me by someone that couldn't take care of him 5 years ago. He came with a lot of issues one being his fear of people. In the years with me and introducing him to a bunch of different things and people that fear is completely gone. He super hyper around dogs. He gets excited very easily. He's crate trained very well he'll go in by himself. Don't leave him unintended though. He won't tear your furniture or your shoes but he will try to find food and he will also use the bathroom in a random spot but he'll wait to go outside if he's in the crate and he won't ever do it in front of you. The only toy he'll actually enjoy is a ball and you have to throw it for him he's not fond of chew toys. He's 6 or 7 years old I'm not 100% sure but his birthday is July 24th. I wish I could give him everything but I can't. He's a good dog and he'll be better with someone who has the time for him. Hes had a lot of skin issues through the years so I'd lookout.

Story
Dino is a gentle, friendly white husky full of energy. He has been my loyal companion since he was a puppy. He's 4 now and is incredibly loving and sweet. As our family grows with an 18-month old and another on the way we’ve had to adjust his routine from being walked twice daily to just a few quick bathroom breaks in the backyard. We care for him deeply and love him very much, but we realize we can’t give him the time he truly deserves right now. We believe Dino would flourish in a loving family that can dedicate the time and attention he needs. He is crate trained, potty trained, and gets along well with children and both small and large dogs.

Story
Whiskers is a fun loving husky boi who holds true to the husky name! He enjoys woo-ing when he has big emotions and enjoys exploring surfaces of all levels in whatever room he enters. Whiskers was found as a stray dog when he was brought to the shelter. Whiskers is now available for adoption and foster at ACCT Philly. You can meet him any day from 10am-6pm. Interested fosters should email foster@acctphilly.org. Video: Whiskers on a Day Trip: https://youtu.be/63A00kAooTk Whiskers on a Day Trip: https://youtube.com/shorts/h49SqxlEXqs Petting Whiskers: https://youtu.be/1RpFdCO_bZU Fiona and Whiskers meet pt.1: https://youtube.com/shorts/r6_5um0TQ7A?feature=share Fiona and Whiskers meet pt.2: https://youtube.com/shorts/xko3PKLzVAw?feature=share Behavior: From Day Trip 11/19: Volunteering just got a whole lot hairier... Meet Whiskers, the husky with a gigantic heart! Despite being half the size of Clifford the big red dog, Whiskers is totally convinced he’s a lapdog. He’s a certified cuddle expert and believes in giving the best "bear hugs" in the dog world. Have you ever met a dog that knew how to hug? Because it’s the absolute best trick he knows. This handsome furry athlete is a walker’s dream. In our latest adventure, we conquered more than 3 miles in under an hour, and guess what? Whiskers was ready for an encore! If you’re the hiking type, he'll be your trail-blazing buddy and keep you on your toes. He does pull slightly but with gentle reminders he will ease up Per Volunteer 11/19/24: Whiskers was very easy for leashing! He did pull a bit on leash but it was very manageable. Pretty chill husky babe! Waited very patiently as I talked to a staff member- he kept himself busy sniffing around the grass. Took pets all over! Very chill in the play yard. A bit jumpy- seemed like he wanted to mount me but never actually did. He might just want to have his paws up on me! His kennel card says he doesn’t enjoy going back into kennel but I had no issues getting him in- he went right back into kennel but did try to barge out after that. Clip method worked best! Per Staff 11/17/24: BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: Whiskers KNOWN HISTORY: Stray KENNEL PRESENTATION: Whiskers was in front of his kennel alert barking and howling. When I approached his eyes were soft, he had a high tail, and he stopped. He allowed easy leashing and came right out. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally HANDLING: In the room, Whiskers came right up to me and greeted me with some mid level tail wags, an open mouth grin, and some sweet sniffs. He went to solicit for some affection, rubbing his body and face all over me and trying to climb into my lap. He loves rubs but was a bit unsure when i went in to touch his face at first. He warmed up to allowing me to touch his face freely. He allowed all handling and likes to jump up for hugs. PLAY: Engaged in play TOYS: Interest but no possession ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week.
