Story
Koda is an absolute sweetheart who is full of energy and super cuddly at the same time. She warms up to everyone right away and always wants to play! She’s very smart and is learning commands like sit, lie down, and heel. We are working on house training and she’s slowly getting the hang of it! Koda loves time outside and running around, she does pull on the leash when she sees other dogs and humans she wants to say hi to. She is very well behaved and isn’t destructive or trying to get into things but does like to be entertained If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl please email her foster at mayadaniellebornstein@gmail.com.

Story
Yuffie is a gorgeous, lively husky girl with a big heart and a zest for life. At around 3–4 years old, she brings that classic sparkle — expressive, social, and always ready to engage with her people. In the kennel, Yuffie presents beautifully: she greets you at the front with soft eyes, a loose body, and a friendly mid-wag tail. She’s easy to leash, enjoys human affection, and happily leans in for pets. She allows handling with ease and has been described by volunteers as “such a doll.” Out and about, Yuffie shines. She’s been calm and happy to explore new environments. On a recent day trip, she showed off her athletic side — running, exploring, and soaking up the world around her. At times, her curiosity and drive to explore mean she’ll do best with someone who understands the breed and can provide structure, secure spaces, and outlets for her energy. In return, you’ll get a loyal, affectionate companion who’s both playful and sweet. If you’re looking for an active, stunning dog who bonds deeply with her people and is ready for adventures (and couch time afterward), Yuffie may be your girl. Come meet her at ACCT Philly, open daily from 10 am to 6 pm VIDEO Yuffie and Maranda Meet: https://youtu.be/8huHxBBn1n4?si=W53DtLhEVfWEDX9j Yuffie, adoptable girl at ACCT Philly: https://youtube.com/shorts/XVE7zkY9hkU?si=zHg6wpFSrgtiiZUq BEHAVIOR 12/11/2025 Email from a volunteer: Yuffie is marked green, and I wanted to make sure someone knew we had a pretty different walk compared to what the rest of her sheet suggested is her norm. We had a bit of an issue getting her out which was mostly my fault (she was trying to run out and got caught in the other partial loop and then slipped the wrong one, someone helped distract her while I fixed it) but when we were outside, she was very focused on escape. She was running and pulling to go to the street fence and then trying to dig under it and squeeze herself through the breaks in it before pulling again, wanting to go along to the next break and trying again. This was the general gist of her focus if I didn’t redirect her and when we went into one of the smaller yards, she had the same behaviors. She wedged herself in the door when I was going to take the leash of when we returned to the kennel to prevent me from being able to take it off her. She was bizarrely sweet in all of these, so it wasn’t aggressive, it was just quite a bit to manage. I have a husky mix teenage pup at home so it never got to a point that it was unmanageable or dangerous for me, but I know that it was well above what a typical green has been and if someone wasn’t expecting it and really needed to stay with green behavior, it may have been too much. Hopefully it’s just a one off as the rest of the record has her being easy and a joy, but I didn’t want this to go unnoticed in case she needs to go up. 12/07/2025 volunteer notes: Yuffie is such a doll! She is a very typical husky and loves speaking the language of her people. However, she presents pretty calmly for a husky! She doesn't pull on leash and likes a slow leisurely walk. She was non-reactive to all of the dogs outside. She allowed us to put a bandana on her no problem for the photoshoot. She even laid on her side for belly rubs during the shoot, taking it all in and relaxing :) 12/07/2025 staff notes: Kennel Presentation: Standing at the front of the kennel with ears forward (in natural position) soft eyes and loose body with mid wagging tail. Leash Skills: Easy to leash and pulled mildly through the kennel. Gave a good howl when we got to the door like it was going to help open the door. Once outside she remained loose and soft on our walk. Sociability: Very social! Did a consent pet and she came closer and leaned into pets. Allowed all handling, was even able to check her teeth and I believe shes about 3-4 years old. Play: n/a Dog Interaction: Saw a small dog in the x pen and had no reaction. Return to Kennel: Pulled a little harder when we came into the kennels. Walked right into her kennel and unleashed without issue. Color Level: Green Recommendations and considerations: 12/06/2025 staff notes: Yuffie had fun out at Betty's Brigade. She was waiting patiently in line while other dogs were around. She was having a lot of fun running and jumping in the trailer of toys. Story
Sir Charles is happy, loving and playful 1 to 2 yr old boy. He is mostly quiet, but will “talk” or get mouthy when he wants something to eat, play or go out. Sir Charles adores people, both big and small. He just wants to shower people with affection and be loved. When it comes to other dogs, Sir Charles is not a fan. No cats or small animals for Sir Charles. He would do best as the only pet in the home. Sir Charles is housebroken. He is crate trained and likes to lounge in his crate. When it comes to toys, Sir Charles is all in! Plush squeekie toys keep his entertained, he plays nicely with toys and doesn’t tear them up. He loves to play fetch outdoors and indoors. Sir Charles will retrieve as long as you are willing to toss a toy. Sir Charles enjoys going on walks and playtime in the yard. This active boy will benefit from a Husky savvy family as he needs continued training as he will pull on leash when he sees dogs and wildlife. Sir Charles has shown improvement with his leash training Before Sir Charles came into rescue, he was suspected of being hit by a car so it’s no surprise that he gets skittish with loud noises, trucks, loud cars etc. However, he is not bothered by fireworks or thunder when he is in the house. Charles is comical and will keep you laughing, he likes to try to climb trees to catch squirrels. This loving boy thinks he is a lap dog and enjoys a snuggle with his family. Sir Charles has so much to give and so much potential. With the right family, the best is yet to be! Sir Charles’ Back Story When found, this brave boy was suspected of being hit by a car. He managed to drag himself to safety before collapsing in someone’s yard. Animal Control brought Charles to a shelter where he was examined by the staff veterinarian, but his injuries were traumatic so he was transported to an emergency hospital where he could receive the critical care he needed. After diagnostic testing, Charles' prognosis was guarded He had multiple issues including pneumothorax (a large volume of air in his chest cavity), a degloving injury (severe separation of tissue separated from muscle) to his lower lip, broken teeth, several lacerations on his body and a small foreign body in his stomach (unrelated to his recent trauma) Immediately, he underwent a chest tap to remove the air from his chest, was put on pain medication and stabilized on a chest tube. While in the hospital, Charles’ sweet nature endeared him to the staff. Despite his condition, he tolerated all the procedures and exams with no issue. His love of people compelled him to try to give kisses even when his injured mouth was causing him pain! Within a few days this resilient boy made great strides towards recovery and was able to be discharged from the hospital. Thanks to a wonderful, experienced DVSHR foster family who offered to welcome Charles into their home, we were able to take Charles into rescue. Sir Charles underwent further surgery to remove the foreign body in his stomach. Surprisingly, the veterinarian found and removed a rock AND a piece of glass! Charles made a full recovery and is doing well. Interested in adopting? Visit our website today at www.siberianhuskyrescue.org and complete an adoption application. Story
Meet Oreo Cookie! This cutie is a 10-week-old puppy who is part of a surprise litter. Oreo’s mom, Autumn Mae, was found as a stray. Despite all efforts, her owners could not be found. After Autumn came into rescue her foster family noticed she was getting a little rotund in the belly. An x-ray revealed her secret, four puppies! The fluffs of joy were born on September 4, 2025, three boys and one girl. Autumn has been an excellent momma. Her puppies are also benefiting from being in a multi dog household. They are gaining positive social skills from their mentors. Oreo Cookie is very friendly and outgoing. When approached he reaches out his fluffy paws to embrace you.
