Story
Meet Stella! Stella is a 2 year old Husky Akita mix who is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines and preventions. Unfortunately for Stella she is in need of a new home due to unplanned changes in her families living situation and they are unable to meet her needs as an active dog. Stella has lived with another dog, and done well, but if she has another dog in her new home she would be best with an easy going brother dog who likes to share the attention. Stella may just like the kitties too much - so no cats would be the best choice for her home. Cats don't really like to play the same way dogs do, and Stella doesn't understand that ;) She loves her family but she is now interviewing for a new place to call home. Stella would love an active family with a traditionally fenced yard, and someone to help continue her training with some leash work, manners...and to play and exercise with! If you are interested in learning more about this beautiful girl please email WoofLoveTara@gmail.com Adoption donation of $400 to our vet fund is tax deductible as Woof Love Rescue is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization. *** Breed determination in most cases is often based on the limited history typically available for most rescued animals. We try to be as accurate as possible with the information we have and the Rescue assessment of the pup. Current adoption radius is within 3 hours of our foster homes, most within the SJ area - within NJ/PA/DE

Story
Meet Cleveland, he is absolutely adorable and one very sweet pup! He’s friendly, playful, healthy, energetic. He is super sweet and submissive. He does have lots of energy and wants to play but he also wants to learn as well. Older children beat because of his size he may knock little ones over. Two of his siblings adopters had DNA test done and we are confident in his breed mix and this makes for a wonderful dog. He is primarily Husky (results stated father was pure breed Husky) and his mom primary rottie mix with a smidge of boxer. He needs a home that is active has a large fenced yard and maybe even other doggy friends to play with as well. He is a high energy boy so if you’re not active or not home enough to help him release his energy then you won’t be able to Keep him happy. He’s is a lover and can be a couch tater as long as he is given ample opportunity to release any pent up energy by exercise and mental stimulation. Fenced yard is best for him and not a short fence as huskies tend to jump pretty high. A five foot fence or more would Be sufficient. An apartment would not be ideal for this athletic boy. He needs space to run and get his zoomies worked out. Lol Located in east TN. Out of state adoptions are welcomed for additional fee. Transport is available to many areas in the north east as well as the Great Lakes region. We use Rescue Riders for all our pet transport needs because they are the best! Please apply at petpath.org

Story
Sitka is a gorgeous but slightly challenging white husky mix. When he first came into the shelter, he didn't want to be touched at all. Once he was in and out of his kennel a few times he slowly started reacting better, but was still quite the "I am large and in charge" type of guy.?? He arrived as an intact male and doesn't really seem to have had much in the way of manners guidance or training.? once he sort of figures out that the person that is taking care of him is good and providing food and not a threat to him, he becomes much more relaxed. He's still probably going to need someone who is a confident dog handler because he's a smart fellow. He definitely could take advantage of a situation where he feels like he could intimidate someone. He hasn't been tested yet with other dogs but we could certainly do that. He's super food motivated but doesn't respond to any commands. He does show some resource guarding with food; his new family or rescue would need to be prepared for that. We would definitely recommend he go into a home with no children? under teenaged. With the right family and training, we think that this guy will absolutely thrive. If placed in a bad situation and left to make choices on his own, we guarantee he's going to make some bad choices. if you'd like to meet Sitka, please contact the shelter so that we can arrange for his foster mom to bring him in. ??Dogs are generally tested with dogs of their own size; and dog meets with the resident dogs are always encouraged. Shelter cat testing is not very reliable and we always recommend caution when introducing dogs to cats in the home. Recommendation on suitability of placement with children by their ages is based on behavioral observations including energy level and response to body handling. We never recommend leaving young children unsupervised with dogs, and we cannot guarantee the behavior of dogs with children, other pets or cats. Behavior evaluations should be considered as a snapshot of the behavior of the dog at this point in time; HBPAC believes all dog families need to be prepared to invest time and energy into training as well as provide common sense management of their new dog. We always encourage family to do some research on the breeds or mixes of breeds prior to adoption as many can have some unique characteristics that may or may not fit into their families.
