A disabled veteran who's going through a rough divorce, and custody issue. I bought Oreo when she was 3 months; home trained in 3 months. Oreo is a very affectionate and attention seeker. She's well trained once familiar with you and the environment. She loves treats, and home cook foods as a treat. She eats dry foods, and she loves plenty of water. Whoever gets Oreo will fall in love with her attentiveness. I wish I wasn't feeling as bad as I do with my chronic issues.

Story

Jake and Gracie are a deeply bonded pair of senior dogs who must stay together. Affectionate, loyal, and low-maintenance, they thrive in a calm, predictable home where they can relax near their people. Gracie, an 8-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback, is gentle, independent, and very low energy. She’s happiest resting somewhere warm and enjoys companionship without needing constant attention. She’s food-motivated and easygoing. Jake, an approx. 8-year-old mixed breed, is affectionate and loves cuddling and praise. While he has moderate energy, he does best with short bursts of activity and settles well at home. He can be reactive on leash and has a strong prey drive, so a home without other pets is important. They do well with a secure yard, don’t require daily walks, and are happiest in a quieter adult home. They simply want to stay together and be loved.

Meet Ghost. He’s being fostered in east TN. Out of state welcome for additional fee. We transport to the Greta lakes and northeast areas east areas. We use rescue riders for all our pet transport needs. Ghost had a home but unfortunately his owner could not longer care for him. He’s a really sweet pup. He loves attention and will come rest his head on your lap for petting and ear scratches. He gets along with most all other dogs big and small young or old. He is very playful and has lots of energy. He seems to be a husky mix. He has the curled husky tail and the coat of a medium coated husky but he also looks like he could be mixed with another breed. He’s not very big and only around 45 lbs. he’s a year old so he should not get much bigger. He probably will top out around 50-55 lbs. he is crate trained and house trained and walks well on a leash. He is a just a little shy when meeting new people and it doesn’t take long for him to warm up. He is one smart and sweet pup!

Meet Syber, a striking 4-year-old black Husky with piercing blue eyes 🐺 and a strapping build with fluffy hair. He's neutered and ready for his forever home — ideally with adult adopters (or children 12+) who understand that he's still building confidence and need patience as he adjust to new environments. Sometime Syber flinches from fast movement or around new people- he will need decompression in his new home. He has done well meeting other dogs in the shelter, mostly avoidant and calm. Naturally high tail. In yard, slow entry, appropriate greetings, mingled. Volunteer 9/3/26: I had a good time with Syber today! He didn't like my attempt at a lasso, but I was able to get the leash around him with the guillotine down and he came out without hesitation. He allowed me to pet all over his body, and he seemed to love butt rubs, but he flinched when my hand was around his head. He walked well on the leash, no pulling, but he did like to stop and check in with me every few steps. He was quite calm and not very dog reactive walking through the shelter. Staff 8/30: Kennel Presentation: At the front of the kennel when I first approached. Wide/soft eyes, ears forward and tail down. Offered a treat and he took it. Leash Skills: When I opened the door he moved to the bed in his kennel. Head slightly lower, tail down and ears forward. Needed a treat lure to leash. Walks on a loose leash. Sociability: Asocial at first. Flinched, skin crawled, closed mouth and lip licked when I first attempted to pet. Very food motivated and knows sit. With time he did allow more handling on his back and leaned into me. Still flinchy with pets near his neck/head area. Play: n/a Dog Interaction: Met boomer and comet. Tolerant, avoidant and moved away. Return to Kennel: With how flinchy he was with handling near his neck I went slow to clip his leash. He went right into kennel and slipped leash off without issue.
