Story
Dixie, a pug through and through. Gentle, curious, loving, food-loving and people loyal. Dixie adores her foster family and is happy to wait patiently for them to find her the perfect forever home. Dixie has been loved all her life, adored and cared for. Her life and her owners took a drastic turn when her owner was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. Dixie is now in foster care. She is confused but delights everyone she meets with her gentle and sweet demeanor. She is crate and potty-trained and is ready for a stable, loving home. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Meet Jay – Big Personality, Bigger Heart  Meet Jay, a tall, 40-pound bundle of joy who might be part pug, part Aussie—and 100% personality. This energetic boy loves his toys and takes his self-appointed job of protecting the yard from bunnies, squirrels, birds, and even rogue leaves very seriously. He’s a true zoomie professional, both indoors and out, and would thrive in a home with another playful dog to burn off his energy (but no cats, please—he finds them far too interesting). Jay does best when meals are served on opposite sides of the room from his furry siblings, and he’s kennel trained—though his favorite sleeping spot is definitely the bed with his human. Fair warning: a little snoring may be included. He walks fairly well on a leash but pulls with enthusiasm, eager to explore everything the world has to offer. He’s great with the dog-savvy 3-year-old granddaughter in his foster home, but because Jay can get excited and zoom right past little ones, a home with older or dog-savvy kids (and no fragile seniors) would be ideal. He has some strong “accidental linebacker” energy when he jumps up to say hello. Jay is a sweet, loving boy who’s learning better manners every day. With continued structure, patience, and love, he’ll make an amazing companion for an active household ready to embrace his joyful spirit. ##2353867##

Story
Seven-year-old Pokey is the ultimate Velcro pug — wherever you go, he’s right there, ready to be your loyal sidekick. This lovable 15-pound fawn boy is equal parts playful and affectionate. He enjoys zoomies and tug-of-war with his pug pals but is just as happy cuddling up with his favorite human when the day winds down. Pokey is completely house-trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and sleeps soundly in his crate at night. He’s a polite eater (though quick!) and loves taking all the toys out of the box to choose the perfect one for the moment. He gets along great with other dogs and is friendly with everyone he meets. Pokey uses daily eye drops and is blind in one eye, so he does best in well-lit spaces. He’d thrive in a loving home where his people are around often to shower him with attention. If you’re looking for a cheerful little shadow to adore you endlessly, Pokey’s your guy! ****** All our pugs are fostered throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area. We adopt to all lower 48 states, but adopters must travel to Texas for pickup. To learn more or apply, visit www.dfwpugs.com.

Story
Five-year-old Tic Tac is a charming, fawn winky pug with a heart as big as his bark! While he can be a little cautious at first, once he warms up, this Velcro pug loves nothing more than cuddling up next to his favorite person and showering them with kisses. Tic Tac enjoys toys, puzzle games, and snuffle mats—and occasionally shows off his silly side by proudly parading around with socks or shoes he’s “borrowed.” He is about 90% house-trained, crate-trained (though he’s not a fan of it), and walks well on a leash—just be sure his harness is snug because he’s been known to wiggle out when something’s caught his interest! Tic Tac gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats, but he’d prefer a home with a canine buddy and patient humans who understand he sees the world a little differently due to limited vision. If you’re looking for a loyal, snuggly companion with a goofy streak, Tic Tac is your guy! ****** All our pugs are fostered throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area. Story
8-month-old Little Richard is a playful, fawn male pug bursting with joyful puppy energy and charm. He enjoys wrestling, tug-of-war, and tag with his dog friends, running around with kids, and staying close to his humans—whether that’s snuggling on the couch, supervising dinner prep from your feet, or asking you to join him outside for potty breaks. His adorable underbite only adds to his irresistible personality. Little Richard is house-trained, shares toys graciously and has lovely mealtime manners—he eats politely, takes treats gently. He’s crate-trained and improving each night, walks nicely on a leash, and is already learning “sit” and “come.” Toys are a big favorite, especially stuffies and chewers. Little Richard does great with other dogs and children of all ages. He could be an only dog if someone is home often but would also thrive with a playful canine companion. If you’re ready for puppy kisses, playful antics, and a loyal little shadow, Little Richard is ready to rock his way into your heart! ****** All our pugs are fostered throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area.
