Story
Made For Your Lap Kira is a 4 year old, petite, affectionate pug who is ready to trade motherhood for the pampered life she deserves. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and incredibly easygoing. Her foster mom calls her the easiest foster she’s ever had! Kira loves smaller dogs, does well with other pups, and absolutely adores people ...especially when she can be the center of attention. She’s a deep sleeper (yes, she snores!), loves toys twice her size, and thinks meal time is the best time of day. She doesn’t require much exercise and would be happiest with someone home most of the time, ideally a retired person who truly wants a loving pug companion. If you want a loyal little shadow who prefers laps over laps around the block, Kira is your girl. Meet Kira! Kira is 12lbs of pugaliciousness - squishy, sweet and snorty. So far, favorite activities include spinning and snoring.

Story
Meet Jay – Big Personality, Bigger Heart  Meet Jay, a tall, 40-pound bundle of joy who might be part pug, part Aussie—and 100% personality. This energetic boy loves his toys and takes his self-appointed job of protecting the yard from bunnies, squirrels, birds, and even rogue leaves very seriously. He’s a true zoomie professional, both indoors and out, and would thrive in a home with another playful dog to burn off his energy (but no cats, please—he finds them far too interesting). Jay does best when meals are served on opposite sides of the room from his furry siblings, and he’s kennel trained—though his favorite sleeping spot is definitely the bed with his human. Fair warning: a little snoring may be included. He walks fairly well on a leash but pulls with enthusiasm, eager to explore everything the world has to offer. He’s great with the dog-savvy 3-year-old granddaughter in his foster home, but because Jay can get excited and zoom right past little ones, a home with older or dog-savvy kids (and no fragile seniors) would be ideal. He has some strong “accidental linebacker” energy when he jumps up to say hello. Jay is a sweet, loving boy who’s learning better manners every day. With continued structure, patience, and love, he’ll make an amazing companion for an active household ready to embrace his joyful spirit. ##2353867##

Story
Ricky is an 11 month old, 15 lb Pug. He may look like he is angry or sad, but that's just his usual "resting Pug face"! He was living with 5 other Pugs, all relatives of some kind, together. He never went outside of the house, and only was introduced to grass and a yard recently. He is in a foster home with other dogs, learning how to be a dog. He is learning about toys (squeaky ones are his fav), collars. and leashes, but still has more to learn. Ricky enjoys sitting by his fosters for some cuddles, but he is still learning boundaries, so be prepared for him launching himself onto your lap when you least expect it! He will be a little shy at first, but he is becoming more outgoing every day. He would probably do well with another dog that can help show him the ropes. Ricky will need conttinued potty and crate traing, but he he is so worth it! If you are interested in Ricky, please complete an application and one of the adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
My name is Ozzie, and I am 1.5 years old. 16 lb Pug. Before I cam to Humane Tomorrow, I was living with 5 other Pugs, all relatives of some kind, together in a house. We never went outside of the house, and I know now what a mess and how unhealthy that was. Now I am in a foster home, with other dogs, but we go outside into a yard, and my foster family has been teaching me what doggies are supposed to do. I’ve learned a lot in the last few weeks, but still have more to learn. I’m a little mouthy – using my mouth and teeth sometimes (just to play), but still probably not a good fit with young kids. I’ve discovered that I especially like to play tug with my people, but sometimes I get a little overstimulated when I play. So, just let me win and call the game! I get along well with the other dogs in the household most of the time, and have discovered I like to chew on nylabones. I like to sit with my people, cuddling with them and sometimes I like to get up high on the top of chairs so I get a view of everything around me. I am still getting used to this thing around my neck (collar) and walking on a leash, but I like it in my foster home with all the attention I’m getting. I am crate trained, but any new home will need to continue my house training. I’ve been wearing a belly band while I figure things out. If you are interested in me, please complete an application and one of the adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Tater has been doing very well in his foster home since being returned to our care after four years. Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve gotten to know him again, and one thing is clear—he is an incredibly sweet and loving dog. Tater is well-behaved, quiet, and laid-back. He was returned because he began guarding his adopters from the other dog in the home, whom he had lived with since puppyhood. We offered to send a trainer, but after learning they had moved to Ohio, it became clear that long-distance support wouldn’t be an option. Given how long this behavior has gone unaddressed, we believe Tater would do best as an only dog. That said, Tater enjoys going on walks, does well on a leash, and is not reactive to other dogs. He loves people, including children, and is both house trained and crate trained. Tater is a 5 year old English Bulldog/Pit Bull mix. If you’re interested in meeting or adopting him, apply at www.rescuerowinc.org. *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days.*You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck*Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row):Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption feeDogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption feeRescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##949210##
