Story
Meet Jay – Big Personality, Bigger Heart  Meet Jay, a tall, 40-pound bundle of joy who might be part pug, part Aussie—and 100% personality. This energetic boy loves his toys and takes his self-appointed job of protecting the yard from bunnies, squirrels, birds, and even rogue leaves very seriously. He’s a true zoomie professional, both indoors and out, and would thrive in a home with another playful dog to burn off his energy (but no cats, please—he finds them far too interesting). Jay does best when meals are served on opposite sides of the room from his furry siblings, and he’s kennel trained—though his favorite sleeping spot is definitely the bed with his human. Fair warning: a little snoring may be included. He walks fairly well on a leash but pulls with enthusiasm, eager to explore everything the world has to offer. He’s great with the dog-savvy 3-year-old granddaughter in his foster home, but because Jay can get excited and zoom right past little ones, a home with older or dog-savvy kids (and no fragile seniors) would be ideal. He has some strong “accidental linebacker” energy when he jumps up to say hello. Jay is a sweet, loving boy who’s learning better manners every day. With continued structure, patience, and love, he’ll make an amazing companion for an active household ready to embrace his joyful spirit. ##2353867##

Story
Meet Nim – The Cutest Pug on the Planet! Nim is a one-of-a-kind little boy who will absolutely melt your heart. He’s a tiny pug, weighing just 10 pounds, with the sweetest short little legs and a rare genetic anomaly that gave him long, fluffy fur—making him extra special and extra adorable. Quiet and calm by nature, Nim is the perfect snuggle buddy, but don’t let that fool you—he still gets bursts of playful energy where he scoots and hops around in pure joy when he sees you. He’s great with dogs of all sizes, cats, and absolutely adores children. Nim has been with us since he was just 8 weeks old, and now that he is 2, he’s still patiently waiting for his forever family. Sadly, many people searching for pugs want the typical loud snorts and snores—but Nim is different. He’s a soft-spoken, gentle soul, and truly the most precious pug you’ll ever meet. This little boy deserves a loving family who will celebrate his uniqueness… maybe even give him his very own Instagram page to show off his cuteness to the world! In my past life, I was a superhero. My superpower? Unconditional love. I used it to heal hearts and bring joy. One day, I fought the villain 'Loneliness' in an epic battle. I won, but got lost, and ended up here. I still have my superpower, and I'm ready to use it again. If you need a friend, a confidant, a cheerleader, I'm your guy. I'm mellow, friendly, and gentle. I promise to be your best friend and to make every day brighter. Adopt me and let's write our own superhero story together.September 6, 2025, 9:39 pm

Story
Gretchen is looking for a loving foster home to help her recover while she is receiving medical treatment. Foster Reason: Upper Respiratory Infection (URI) Foster Time Frame: 2 Weeks (The foster time frame could be longer depending on future medical results and needs.) Foster Care Plan: Gretchen is currently being treated for an upper respiratory infection, which is similar to a common cold. Since she may be contagious to other pets, we strongly recommend keeping her in a separate, dedicated space such as a spare bathroom or bedroom until she has fully recovered. She will go to her foster home with medication, and once her treatment is complete, she’ll be ready for surgery/adoption. Foster to Adopt: Gretchen is available through our Foster to Adopt program, which allows pets awaiting or undergoing medical treatment to be placed with prospective adopters before they are made available for adoption. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please visit https://www.operationkindness.org/foster/ or email us at foster@operationkindness.org to learn more.

Story
👑 Meet Baroness Beatrice Von Smushface 👑 (A title she absolutely earned after what she’s survived) Baroness is an English Bulldog-Pug mix. She is just precious. Baroness is potty trained, highly food motivated (as her waistline would indicate), loves toys and loves to cuddle even more! This 4.5-year-old overbred mama was found wandering as a stray dehydrated, with raw skin, sagging teats from back-to-back litters, and ears so infected we can’t even touch them. Her body tells the story overused, neglected, discarded. But to us, she’s royalty. From this day forward, Baroness Beatrice Von Smushface will only know love, safety, and high-end snuggles. Despite it all… She wags. She snorts. She smiles. She’s 33 pounds of grunty, low-to-the-ground love. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Meet Trixie – The Sweet Shadow with a Need for Speed Trixie is a Boston Terrier mix who believes life is best lived right by your side—or on your lap. She’s incredibly affectionate and follows her foster mom everywhere, always keeping a close eye on what her favorite human is doing. Sit down for even a second, and Trixie will be right there asking for a boost onto your lap, where she’s happiest cuddled close to her favorite human. Trixie is potty trained, sleeps in her crate at night, and responds well to her name. She loves riding in the car and is always eager to tag along wherever the day leads. At home, she’s playful and silly, often chasing her sister or claiming the couch as her royal throne. On walks, Trixie is enthusiastic and eager to move, so she’s walked with a harness to help manage her excitement and keep outings enjoyable. Trixie would make an excellent companion for someone who wants a loving, playful dog who’s always ready for cuddles, car rides, and being your constant little shadow. ##2590360##

Story
Meet Dixie – Your Ride-or-Die Best Friend Dixie is a Boston Terrier mix girl with a happy heart and a go-everywhere attitude. The moment she sees the car, she’s ready to hop in—adventures are her favorite! Dixie is potty trained, sleeps soundly in her crate, and knows her name well. She’s a wonderful companion who sticks close to her people and follows her foster mom wherever she goes. The second her foster mom sits down, Dixie is right there, climbing into her lap like she belongs (because she thinks she does). She’s playful and fun, especially when it comes to zooming around and playing “king of the couch.” Dixie enjoys her walks but prefers to get where she’s going quickly, so she’s walked with a harness and does best with someone ready to guide her enthusiasm. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate sidekick who wants to be part of everything you do, Dixie is ready to claim her spot—especially if that spot is your lap. ##2590361##
