Story
Hutch is a shy boy that takes a minute to trust and to warm up to strangers. As you can see from his photos, once he has a minute, he is just a lover! He gets along great with other dogs, is house, crate and leash trained. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Meet Red –  A True Soul Dog and Gentleman “Some dogs come into your life, and some dogs become your life. A soul dog is never just a pet—they are a part of you that finally made it home.” As his foster, I truly believe Red is one of those soul dogs, just looking for his true person. Red has faced challenges in life, but none of this was ever his fault. His previous family struggled to care for him consistently, yet he remained loyal, kind, and always there for them. Now he’s ready for a stable, loving forever home. Red is an 8-year-old, 86-pound Boxer mix with a honey-brown coat, soulful brown eyes, a striking white blaze and chest, and four white socks. He’s a gentle giant—loyal, smart, loving, and full of heart. Red is crate and house trained, walks perfectly on leash, knows sit and shake with both paws, rides beautifully in the car, and has excellent house manners. He is fantastic with kids, other dogs, and cats, he loves snuggles, Netflix marathons, calm walks when the weather is nice, and relaxing indoors on a cozy bed. Red is a true companion who simply loves being near you. Red deserves a home where he will be cherished as a full indoor family member, treated with love, patience, and stability. He is ready to give his whole heart to the family lucky enough to adopt him. About Red: 8 years old Boxer mix Neutered, microchipped, UTD on vaccines  Heartworm negative House & crate trained Kid-friendly Dog and Cat-friendly Great on leash Loves fetch, car rides, and cuddles Red's adoption fee is $200, covering his neuter, vaccinations, dewormer, first dose of heartworm prevention, and microchip. Logan is 5 years old and has been with our family since we adopted him at 3 months old. He is loving, playful, and energetic, and needs an owner that has time to play with him and take him for walks. Our schedules have become hectic and our yard is much smaller now than when we first got him. He gets along well with other dogs, and is protective of his humans. He may take some time to warm up to new people.

Story
This precious meat head is Champs. Big, strong, loving and loyal and looking for a loving home. Champs was found living in a homeless camp with a logger chain and lock around his neck - chained to a tree. Life was desperate for this guy with his open neck wound. What agony he lived in day after day, despite that he was still nice to people and other dogs that came up to him. Luckily, a good person stepped up and did something rather than just pass him by. Champs is a sweet loving smart boy. He is eager to please his people and make them proud. He is the most handsomest, sweetest little big guy out there! We are working on our Canine Good Citizenship together and he is SOOOO quick to learn and eager to please! Champs is good with other dogs, but does need proper intros as he is VERY excitable and not a lot of other dogs like that. But he when he makes friends, they are the best of pals! Not sure on cats or other pets. He's very curious so he'd probably chase a cat if it ran from him. He is high energy. I would recommend an active home with teenagers with lots of energy that they can play together. He loves a consistent routine. So I would imagine the energy will settle a bit when in a home. He loves a good car ride and would be a great on-the-go pup! He's in boarding right now and needs a foster or adopter that is willing to continue his training! He would sure love a home to experience life with a loving family. Champs seems to like everybody he meets: humans and canines. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at http://dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
This is Buddy’s story (in his words) I was born into a backyard where fighting was normal. They call it backyard breeding, but that doesn’t explain the blood, the screaming, or the nights when dogs didn’t make it back inside. The fights happened when it was dark. Sometimes you fought harder and lived. Sometimes you didn’t. The ones who didn’t were dragged away like they never existed. I chose to fight. That’s why my legs are scarred. That’s why my ears look the way they do. That’s why my body tells my story before I ever get a chance to. I’m not just marked on the outside. I carry it inside too. People hesitate when they see me. I know why. My breed. My scars. The way I look like I’ve lived too hard for too long. I’ve never had a real home. I think those only happen in dreams or movies. But I don’t hate people. I love them. I wag my tail. I lean in for pets. I get excited when someone says my name. Maybe I shouldn’t trust humans, but I do anyway. Someone once promised me a new life. They said rescue would be different. That I’d be safe. They were half right. I don’t fight anymore. I have a bed. I get food on time. I’m warm. I live in boarding. I will probably die in boarding. But here’s the thing. Life is better than it was. The people here love me. They tell me I’m a good dog. They send me toys. They dress me in costumes. They call me the mascot. I get snacks and sunbathing and hugs that last longer than a second. I grew a lump on my leg. They said it was a lipoma. It didn’t bother me… until it did. Until it burst. Until the bleeding wouldn’t stop. I was scared when they took me to the hospital. Hospitals haven’t always been kind places for dogs like me. But this time was different. Someone showed up for me. They didn’t walk away. They didn’t say I wasn’t worth it. They didn’t count my scars and decide no. They said yes.
