Story
Hi hoomans, it’s me, Sommer, your resident 6‑pound cuddle bug and part‑time chaos intern. Big news: I went outside for the very first time this week. Wow. So many smells. So many things to explore. So much room to run and play with the resident dogs. I am thoroughly intrigued by this thing called a hose and the wet stuff that comes out of it. Reminds me of my first week here with all of my spa days. Uncle Max has been teaching me how to watch squirrels like a serious dog. I stand next to him and stare at the fence, but honestly…I have no idea what we’re waiting for. He seems very passionate about it, though, so I pretend I understand. I’m feeling better, getting braver, but still like being held so I can shove my whole face into your neck like a baby koala. Foster life is pretty great. Love, Sommer 🐶✨ Sommer’s first few days here were a little “ruff” — poor girl had some tummy troubles and mostly wanted to snooze. But now that she’s feeling better, her puppy personality is bursting through. She’s playing with toys (Lamb Chop is the reigning favorite), wrestling with her brother Kayce, and treating foster mom’s walking boot like her own personal jungle gym. She loves being held, burying her face in your neck, and has become surprisingly accustomed to her frequent “spa days” thanks to those tummy issues. 😆 She loves when the big resident dogs come over to say hello, she gets up and runs over to give kisses 🥰 This little girl is a beauty and her name is Sommer. This is her story. A mama dog was pulled off the streets and safely delivered 9 puppies in foster care. They’ve been loved and cared for since birth… but then the original foster’s landlord found out, and the puppies had to be moved immediately. Dallas Dog - Rescue.Rehab.Reform brought them into the fold and they have been separated into smaller groups for fostering. They are: 🐾 Medium‑breed pups 🐾 Social, playful, and used to being together 🐾 At a critical age where consistency matters We are beginning to accept adoption applications so we can place them in stable homes as soon as they’re ready. Pairs are ideal, but single‑pup adopters committed to proper socialization are welcome too. If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now is the moment to step in for one of these babies. www.dallasdog.org

Meet Carter, an adorable 11-week-old puppy weighing 14 pounds who’s sure to grow into a medium-sized dog. He’s smart, eager to please, and has a fun yet calm personality. A sweet little male with a story to tell. He is such a good boy. Certified cuddle expert. Professional tail wagger. He believes every human is his best friend and every snack should legally be shared with him. A mama dog was pulled off the streets and safely delivered 9 puppies in foster care. Laramie is a beautiful little girl. She’s very sweet and friendly. She wants to say hi to everyone and give them kisses. She gets along great with other dogs and has spent time with children and was good with them too. She has a foster cat sister and would really like to play with her too but the kitty isnt a fan of puppyness. She’s got puppy energy and loves to play and chew. She follows her foster dog sister around and they play, although she’s going to need a bigger playmate. She loves to run and would do great with a yard! Here is her story. Story
This precious meat head is Champs. Big, strong, loving and loyal and looking for a loving home. Champs was found living in a homeless camp with a logger chain and lock around his neck - chained to a tree. Life was desperate for this guy with his open neck wound. What agony he lived in day after day, despite that he was still nice to people and other dogs that came up to him. Luckily, a good person stepped up and did something rather than just pass him by. Champs is a sweet loving smart boy. He is eager to please his people and make them proud. He is the most handsomest, sweetest little big guy out there! We are working on our Canine Good Citizenship together and he is SOOOO quick to learn and eager to please! Champs is good with other dogs, but does need proper intros as he is VERY excitable and not a lot of other dogs like that. But he when he makes friends, they are the best of pals! Not sure on cats or other pets. He's very curious so he'd probably chase a cat if it ran from him. He is high energy. I would recommend an active home with teenagers with lots of energy that they can play together. He loves a consistent routine. So I would imagine the energy will settle a bit when in a home. He loves a good car ride and would be a great on-the-go pup! He's in boarding right now and needs a foster or adopter that is willing to continue his training! He would sure love a home to experience life with a loving family. Champs seems to like everybody he meets: humans and canines. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at http://dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
This is Buddy’s story (in his words) I was born into a backyard where fighting was normal. They call it backyard breeding, but that doesn’t explain the blood, the screaming, or the nights when dogs didn’t make it back inside. The fights happened when it was dark. Sometimes you fought harder and lived. Sometimes you didn’t. The ones who didn’t were dragged away like they never existed. I chose to fight. That’s why my legs are scarred. That’s why my ears look the way they do. That’s why my body tells my story before I ever get a chance to. I’m not just marked on the outside. I carry it inside too. People hesitate when they see me. I know why. My breed. My scars. The way I look like I’ve lived too hard for too long. I’ve never had a real home. I think those only happen in dreams or movies. But I don’t hate people. I love them. I wag my tail. I lean in for pets. I get excited when someone says my name. Maybe I shouldn’t trust humans, but I do anyway. Someone once promised me a new life. They said rescue would be different. That I’d be safe. They were half right. I don’t fight anymore. I have a bed. I get food on time. I’m warm. I live in boarding. I will probably die in boarding. But here’s the thing. Life is better than it was. The people here love me. They tell me I’m a good dog. They send me toys. They dress me in costumes. They call me the mascot. I get snacks and sunbathing and hugs that last longer than a second. I grew a lump on my leg. They said it was a lipoma. It didn’t bother me… until it did. Until it burst. Until the bleeding wouldn’t stop. I was scared when they took me to the hospital. Hospitals haven’t always been kind places for dogs like me. But this time was different. Someone showed up for me. They didn’t walk away. They didn’t say I wasn’t worth it. They didn’t count my scars and decide no. They said yes.

Story
💔 Five Years Is Far Too Long 💔 Meet Pippi. Pippi is an 8-year-old, 47-pound sweetheart who has spent an unbelievable amount of her life waiting for someone to choose her. She has been in boarding since February 7, 2021. That's more than five years of watching other dogs leave while she stays behind. Despite everything, Pippi hasn't given up. She is a graduate of our Canine Good Citizen program and is one of the most well-trained dogs in our rescue. She knows sit, place, leave it, shake, and drop it. She loves her people, loves her toys, and absolutely lights up when a ball comes out. Pippi is fully house-trained and would thrive in a home where she can finally be part of a family. She adores her people and does well with male dogs, but she needs a home without female dogs or cats. Like many dogs who have spent years in a kennel environment, Pippi can get excited when she sees squirrels, cats, or bikes on walks. She has worked extensively with trainers and continues to make progress. What she really needs now is a chance to practice all those skills in a home of her own. Think about it. Since 2021, Pippi has watched seasons change, holidays come and go, puppies grow up, and hundreds of other dogs find families. Through it all, she has waited. And waited. And waited. We know her person is out there. ✔️ Canine Good Citizen Graduate ✔️ House-Trained ✔️ Loves People ✔️ Does Well With Male Dogs ✔️ Loves Toys and Fetch ✔️ Ready for a Real Home ❌ No Female Dogs ❌ No Cats Pippi has done everything we've asked of her. She has learned, grown, trained, and waited patiently. Now it's our turn to help her find what she's been missing for far too long: a family. If you can't adopt, please consider fostering. Even a temporary home would mean more to Pippi than you can imagine. 📧 adopt@dallasdogrrr.org Let's make sure Pippi doesn't spend another year waiting. ❤️
