Story
Meet Sonny 🐶 – Loving Pup Looking for the Right HomeIt truly breaks my heart, but I’m looking to rehome my dog Sonny and find him a loving, patient home. Sonny is 4 years old, very sweet, and loves to play. He enjoys being around people he trusts and gets along great with other dogs.We adopted him from a rescue that found him living in a restroom with his siblings for months, so he can be shy and a bit fearful with strangers at first. With time, patience, and training, he really opens up and shows his loving personality.I recently became a new mom, and with an infant, I’m not able to give him the time and attention he deserves. Sonny would do best with someone who can work with him and preferably has a backyard since he loves to play.He has so much potential and will be an amazing companion in the right home. Please message me if interested. ❤️🐾

Story
Shelbi came to our rescue from Arizona. The rescue in Arizona goes onto the Apache reservation to help dogs. Shelbi was 1 year old and her young life being possible hit by a car that left her rear legs paralyzed. The vet did not recommend euthanasia , she said all Shelbi needed was a wheelchair and she would be fine. Shelbi was fortunate to be taken to a very kind vet who kept her at the clinic until they could find a special need rescue. Since our specialty is paralyzed animals they asked if we could take her into our rescue. We said yes. A plan was in process to deliver her to California. She was a couple months at the vet healing and waiting for a rescue. She started acting strange. Turns out she was pregnant. She had a emergency C-section. She gave birth to 2 puppies which the staff members adopted. Now there was a 6 week delay. During that time she started to stand. When transport was found Shelbi was wobbly but no one expected what was to happen next. When she arrived we took her to our vet for more x rays Our vet said her bones were healing. For the next 6 months she started walking wobbly but walking. Everyday she got stronger and today she runs and does her happy dog walk. She is normal like any happy dog. She has the easy go lucky personality of a husky and the keen eye and sharp mind of a border collie/aussie. Unfortunately she has a strong prey drive for cats so she cannot live with cats. This girl is so beautiful with her flowing shiny coat.

Story
Brewski’s previous owner was hospitalized and could no longer care for this sweet guy so AALOC took him in. This young Border Collie mix is very playful and loving and gets along great with other dogs. Brewski is a medium-size dog, weighing in at about 45 pounds. According to the American Kennel Club the Border Collie are amazing dogs. They are particularly energetic, athletic, and playful and are known for being workaholics. Although a Border Collie will enjoy cuddle time, it is only after they have spent their energy with walks, play and training. In the canine world, Border Collies are among the most agile, balanced, and durable breeds. They are usually very good at agility training and giving a Border Collie a job is important to their happiness. Border Collies are also known for their intense ‘herding eye’ gaze and their almond-shaped eyes. Please apply to adopt Brewski at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Brewski and get to know him a bit. Adoption donation includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. We adopt to residents of Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. Please note: For families with children, we require children to be 10 years of age or older, although exceptions are made depending on the circumstances. For more information on our adoption policies visit our website at www.AALOC.org or contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org.

Story
Montana is an affectionate 4-year-old Lab/Pit mix who’s ready to be your loyal companion for life. This sweet girl is a fetch fanatic who lives for playtime and loves nothing more than chasing balls with her favorite humans. She’s both treat and toy motivated and ready to learn new tricks. Montana gets along fine with other dogs, but she’s truly a people-focused pup who wants to be your number-one play partner. On a recent Doggie Day Out adventure, she proved to be a calm car passenger and a wonderful trail companion. She enjoys sniffy walks and likes to lead the way without pulling on the leash. Though Montana can be a little shy when meeting new people, she warms up quickly with patience (and a few tasty treats). Once she feels comfortable, she enjoys gentle petting and cuddle time with her friends. If you can toss a tennis ball, you’re already in her inner circle! Montana was placed on final because shelter life has become overwhelming for her. Repeated encounters with unfamiliar people reaching into her kennel have left her feeling uneasy, and she may growl or show her teeth to ask for space. But outside the kennel, Montana’s true personality shines—sweet, playful, and full of love. Montana will thrive in a calm, patient home that gives her time to decompress and build trus ##2599337##

Spirit is a sweet 2 year -old Border Collie, about 30 pounds of pure love in the making! She’s gentle and affectionate, but she does take a little time to warm up to new people and surroundings. Once she feels safe and comfortable, her loyal and loving personality really shines.   Spirit would do best in a patient, understanding home where she can build confidence at her own pace — someone who appreciates her thoughtful, sensitive nature and is ready to help her blossom.   For more info and to meet Spirit, visit FOCHP.org.     For a complete list of our pets and photos please visit our website fochp.org  April 6, 2026, 10:21 pm
