This black and white beauty is just a puppy and looking for her forever home! At just 32 pounds, Naomi is a sweet girl who’s a little timid at first — but once she trusts you, she’s pure love and affection. Her favorite things? Snuggles, pets, and walks! Naomi is housebroken, doesn’t mind being left alone for a few hours, and would do best in a calm home where she can feel safe and secure. Loud noises can be scary for her, but with patience and love, she’ll continue to grow into the confident pup we know she can be. Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Meet Lincoln....... Lincoln is an adorable young boy, thought to be a Border Collie Mix. Like Border Collies, he’s very smart, a quick learner, very alert and quite energetic!! At age 9 months, he weighs 38 lbs. It is most important to note that we cannot be 100% sure of his adult weight, but our best guess is about 40ish lbs. This handsome boy joined BAARK from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky earlier this year. He is thought to have been born around December 23, 2022. He was a scared little puppy when entering our rescue program but has come out of his shell and has evolved into a playful, sociable, and somewhat mischievous boy. Lincoln is great with dogs outside of his foster home, but can be protective of his home and human, indoors. Most likely Lincoln would prefer being an only dog, receiving all the attention he deserves. However he could to ok with a calm easy-going female. He would probably be far too energetic for a senior (dog or human!) An ideal family for Lincoln is one able to assimilate the energy of a young boy into its lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Lincoln to be his best self! A secure, above-ground fenced yard is important. Lincoln would not thrive as an apartment dweller. Lincoln is crate-trained and is working on good house manners (housebreaking). He is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on heartworm preventative. He is neutered and microchipped as well. . 0804 Maddy is fostered in Bancroft, MI. Meet Maddy! This sweet girl is around 4 years old and weighs 35 lbs. She is a smart girl that loves to please!  She will be your shadow and follow you anywhere. Her favorite place to be is by your side and at night time she will sleep all night long next to your bed. Maddy LOVES going for walks and  being able to run around outside. She currently has a fenced in yard that she runs around in. Maddy has been working on her off leash recall and making great improvements! She is eager to learn and you can teach her about any trick. Once in the house she settles down great and enjoys spending her day napping. Maddy is housebroke, respects baby gates and does not get on the furniture.  Maddy would be okay living with other animals but is just as content being the only dog too. She would love a home that includes her in all the fun activities as she is always down for a car ride. She was a previous stray so we don’t know much about her background. Her ideal home is one with patient owners that are willing to spend lots of time with her as she has some separation anxiety that her foster home is diligently working to train and help.  She is typically crated when left at home.  For a dog like this, separation anxiety is common at first, but typically subsides once they are in a home, understand the routine and have achieved nice bonds and have nice boundaries set for her.   Maddy has been around dogs and cat and kids ages over 6 years and does well with all.  Maddy needs a committed adopter who will continue working on basic obedience training. Maddy will bring so much joy, laughter and love into a household. She is a fun girl that is always ready to tag along on the next adventure.  Maddy is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms. **Patches: The Pint-Sized Picasso with a Passion for Play!**This little masterpiece is Patches, a 3-month-old Border Collie mix who's basically a walking work of art! With her soft white and black fur and a stylishly curled black tail, she's like a tiny, furry yin-yang symbol. And while she's not a big shedder (yet!), she did leave a little bit of herself on her bedding, because even art has its messy moments.Patches has a temperament that's as wonderful as her coat. She loves people, plays well with other dogs, and is utterly fearless. This little adventurer is known for her daring leaps and her playful habit of "borrowing" toys from bigger dogs (she's got chutzpah!). She's still a bit clumsy, but hey, who needs grace when you've got this much charm?She's also a natural with kids, having a blast playing with her foster mom's 4 and 7-year-old grandsons. Potty training is a work in progress (she's currently pad-trained), and leash training hasn't even begun yet, so get ready for some fun learning experiences! While not formally crate-trained, Patches willingly uses her crate for eating and resting, which is a great start.This joyful pup is already showing off her smarts by knowing how to sit for a yummy treat! And if she's waiting to come inside, you'll know it; she's not shy about giving the door a little knock! Even her first bath was entertaining, with some curious little nips at the shower spray. Laika is 36 lbs and 3-4 years old. This sweet girl loves chasing and often retrieving balls in the house and outdoors. She loves to sniff around off-leash in a fenced back yard. Turn on your garden sprinkler and she will be entertained and exercised. Laika initiates belly runs and gives kisses to her foster mom as a thank you. Laika is more dominant than Layla and has a strong herding drive, so we recommend a home with no children, cats or small critters. She's a little nervous meeting new people and dogs, which we are working on. Laika is spayed and fully vaccinated. She will need a fenced yard and an experienced handler with a strong understanding of the breed and a willingness to provide lots of exercise and tennis balls. Moose was born on August 9, 2024. His daddy is a chocolate Lab and his mom is a tri color Border Collie. He is a sweetheart and loves to cuddle. I have been trying to give him a variety of experiences. He has been to the library and Tractor Supply. We have walked around at the local gas station to get him used to cars. He has visted with the dogs of some of my friends. He walks well on a harness. I took Moose to Crochet Club and he laid calmy in his crate while I crocheted for two hours. He loves people. He has met children and was unphased by their squeals. He hasn't had an opportunity to meet any cats yet but I will try and make this happen. He sleeps in a crate at night and during the day when I can't watch him, he is contented in his puppy pen. He has learned to touch his nose to the palm of my hand when I say "touch". He knows to sit before I open the crate or pen gate. And at the back door, he sits behind my resident dog and waits to be released outside.
