Story
Chani is with our Partner Rescue and will come to WA per next transport if she finds a foster and forever home Foster or Adopt Chani 💜🐾 Meet Chani, a sweet and playful 2-year-old Boxer mix who is ready to find her forever home! She’s been patiently waiting for her dream to come true—and that dream is a loving family to call her own. Chani is wonderful with people and absolutely loves spending time with her favorite humans. Whether it’s going on walks, playing, or just relaxing, she’s happiest by your side. She’s also a big fan of cozy couch time and would gladly join you for movie marathons any day of the week! She does well with most other dogs but can be a bit selective, so slow and thoughtful introductions are important. Separate feeding areas are recommended to help her feel comfortable and secure. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will bring joy, cuddles, and fun into your life, Chani could be the perfect match for you. Help make Chani’s dream come true—foster or adopt 💜🐾

Story
Rango is a 3-year-old handsome guy who has been with us since early May, and we’ve learned there is a lot to love about him! While the shelter environment can be stressful and sometimes brings out his higher-energy side, Rango has shown us that in a home environment, he can be a surprisingly mellow companion.Rango enjoys lounging in the sunshine, finding the perfect spot for a nap, settling down with a good chew, and working on enrichment toys. He is reliably house-trained, food motivated, takes treats gently, has shown great recall, and already has some nice household manners. He doesn’t typically jump on people or counter surf and is eager to work for his favorite snacks.Rango enjoys getting out for walks and can make a great walking companion, but he is a strong dog and has displayed leash reactive behavior toward other dogs. His future family should be comfortable handling a large, powerful dog and continuing to work on positive, reward based training around other dogs. Because of this, Rango is looking for a dog experienced home and is not recommended for first time dog owners.Rango has participated in playgroups at the shelter, and we believe he could potentially live with a young, socially stable female dog around his size who has an appropriate play style. He is not a good match for male dogs. Rango also has a strong interest in small animals and is looking for a cat and small animal free home. When it comes to play, Rango is happy to join in but isn’t overly demanding. He enjoys tug and will humor you for a couple rounds of fetch before deciding that lying down with the ball is clearly the better game.Due to his size, strength, and behavioral needs, Rango would do best in a house with a securely fenced yard where he has space to relax and decompress. Apartment living or other high density living environments are not the best match for him.Rango is a smart, food-motivated, affectionate dog with so much potential in the right environment. He is looking for an experienced family that can provide structure, appropriate outlets, continued training, and the security he needs to thrive. If that sounds like your home, come meet Rango and see if this big guy could be the companion you’ve been looking forStop by the shelter during regular business hours to visit available pets. AVHS is open 6 days a week 11am-6pm, closed Sundays, adoptions wrap up at 5:30pm each day.

Story
Hello! My name is Zeus, and I am available for adoption!I am a playful guy who loves spending time with people and can enjoy canine friends who are a good match for me. In playgroup, I have done well with female dogs around my size. If you already have a dog at home, the shelter can help arrange a meet and greet to see if we might be compatible.I would do best in a home with someone who has experience with dogs like me. Volunteers and staff describe me as a true sweetheart, and I love treats, affection, and a good game of fetch.I am not the best fit for a home with young children because I appreciate having my space, but I could have a great time with older children who understand my boundaries.Have questions about me? Please reach out to my people at the shelter. They would be happy to help!Send an email to frontdesk@auburnvalleyhs.org for more information or to set up a meet & greet. Stop by the shelter during regular business hours to visit available pets. AVHS is open 6 days a week 11am-6pm, closed Sundays, adoptions wrap up at 5:30pm each day.

Like most puppies, he will thrive with patient guidance, positive reinforcement, and plenty of appropriate chew toys and enrichment., Ferb is growing quickly and will do best with a family who can keep up with a smart, energetic puppy.
