Story
We have 2 adult cats that need to be rehomed. Hazel (7 yrs) is the mamma, she is the black/brown cat. Momo (5yrs) old is the daughter and she is the calico. We had to take them in due to my grandfather passing away and not wanting them to go to the shelter. Unfortunately, we can’t keep them because we are not sure if they will be okay around our dogs. They were around more senior dogs and that was fine, however we don’t want to chance them being in a more active household with a dog that is a hunter. Both cats are very chill and we would prefer them to go into a household that already has cats or non at all. They both have grown up around kids and people and are very friendly. Hazel is much more interactive than Momo, since it takes her more time to come around. They both are low maintenance cats but they need more attention by people who have a more flexible schedule also.Their favorite thing to do is sun bath by the windows and cat cry to you when they are in need of your attention

Story
All of our cats are current on vaccines, combo tested (FIV/FELV) , spayed/neutered, microchipped, given rabies vaccine as age appropriate, flea treatment and dewormer as needed   Harriett Female, spayed DOB: 2009 Meet Harriett. She’s a beautiful, long-haired calico senior who recently came up from the Galveston Humane Society to Dallas. We don’t know her story, but our guess is her owner either went to a nursing home or passed away. Harriett is very sweet and loves to be petted and gently brushed. She’s content sitting quietly. Her foster mom says Harriett would love to be someone’s lap kitty. Because of her age, she needs to be in a low key household. An update on Harriet.  She had abnormal kidney function on recent labwork.  So we started fluid therapy.  The fluids are helping as she's eating almost normally now and is a little bit more active PH**Want to adopt? If your're a Harry Potter fan, you'll recognize where she gets her name from! She loves to explore the house and her favorite game to play is hide and seek. She really enjoys cuddling alongside her siblings, especially with her sister Hermione, but another one of her favorite spots to rest is at the top of her cat tree under the sunlight. She grows more and more confident around humans every day and would make an adorable addition to your household. Because she is especially close to Hermione (they were brought in together), it is preferred that they be adopted together.    **Want to adopt? Story
Hi! My name is Sweetums. I got my name from you guessed it…being so sweet. I was originally brought into TexasCARES as a pregnant momma. I was the best momma and all of my babies got adopted. I was adopted too but somehow I found myself back on the street and fending for myself. I didn’t deserve that and I am so happy to be back inside and safe. Because I was living on the streets, I am cautious of new people. Once you build my trust, I will love you forever!  I am not a big fan of other cats and dogs probably due to having to live in such a stressful situation outside. Everything was pretty scary for me. I would love to be an only pet in a home with a caring person or family who would let me cuddle by their side. Older kids that don’t want to carry me around would be fine. I do love pets and playing with toys is my favorite. Any wand toy will keep me endlessly entertained. I sure hope you will consider giving me my forever home! I promise I am so worth it.      NOTE:   While currently in great health, Sweetums has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).  Many FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives with no symptoms at all, especially when raised exclusively indoors.   However, FIV can weaken a cat’s immune system over a period of years so proactive vet care is crucial.  FIV is not communicable to people or other pets such as dogs, rabbits, etc.  The virus is not spread among cats through casual contact such as shared food/water/litter, mutual grooming, or playing.  It is most commonly spread through deep bite wounds inflicted as part of serious aggression among cats.   We encourage you to do some research on FIV – too many great kitties get passed over due to outdated or inaccurate information about this condition.  April 23, 2024, 8:17 pm

Story
Hello there! I'm Murray, the most charming orange/white tabby boy you'll ever meet! I was rescued from the shelter alongside my brother, Hopper. While I may seem a bit reserved at first, just give me a moment, and you'll witness my heartwarming transformation. I express myself with a delightful melody of purrs and love "chirping" at my foster parents and feline friends. My foster mom affectionately calls me "Purry Murray" because my purr engine revs up instantly when you shower me with pets. Oh, did I mention my fondness for treats? Catch me eagerly waiting in the kitchen at lunchtime, ready to showcase my endearing trick of standing on hind legs and pawing for treats. The coziest spot for me is right by your side – be it on a chair, sofa, or snuggled up in bed. I'm a spirited kitten, reveling in playtime with toys, my dear brother Hopper, and our fellow foster cats. If I'm not frolicking around, you'll likely find me enjoying a peaceful nap. And rest assured, my litter box manners are impeccable, and I've almost mastered the art of using the scratching post. I thrive in the company of other kitties, so a home with a feline companion would be purr-fect for me. I'm eagerly anticipating finding my forever family. Don't hesitate – fill out that application for me today, and let's embark on a heartwarming journey together! **Because we require home visits, we only adopt locally to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Story
Hello there! I'm Hopper, a delightful red/orange tabby kitten, and I've got a heartwarming story to share. Rescued from a shelter alongside my brother, Murray, I sport the cutest red/orange birthmark just below my nose. My foster mom affectionately calls me a "purr box" – a simple chat is all it takes to set my purring in motion. You'll often find me perched on the desk, keeping my foster parent company during work. I've taken it upon myself to stand guard at the window, shielding my foster family from the antics of mischievous birds and squirrels. And let's not forget my love for treats – I don't just love them, I demand them, especially come lunchtime. My foster mom has a little routine where I stand on my hind legs and "beg" for treats before indulging in them. Being an energetic fellow, I thoroughly enjoy playtime with toys, my brother Murray, and the other foster kittens. When I'm not in the midst of play or enjoying a meal, you'll find me cozily napping. With my outgoing personality, I quickly warm up to new human friends. While my litter box habits are impeccable, I'm still refining my use of the scratching post. Given my social nature, I'd thrive in a household with another feline companion. I'm eagerly awaiting the day I find my forever family – could that be you? Don't hesitate, fill out an application for me today!Email info@habitat4paws.org for an application. **Because we require home visits, we only adopt locally to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Story
Greetings! I’m Charlotte or Princess Charlotte as my foster mom calls me, because I’m a princess now! My foster mom rescued my brother Max and me from the streets, where we were having a difficult life outside. You see, I’m a special needs cat and have a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH). But don’t let that scare you, I am just like every other kitten. I’m just a little wobbly and sometimes I fall over but I can still live a normal happy life, indoors. The good news is, you will never have to worry about me jumping up on tables or counters! I just need a few modifications like raised food bowls and shorter cat trees, and of course lots and lots of love! I’m still learning how to be an indoor cat so I’m not into snuggles just yet, but I’m a sweet girl and do love attention and pets. My litter box etiquette is purrfect and I’m learning that I love scratching boxes and posts. I’m great with other cats but because of my disability, I would probably do best in a home where there aren’t any dogs or little children. I’m also part of a bonded pair with my brother Max so we are a package deal. If you choose to adopt me I will do best in a house where he can come along too. After all, two kittens are always better than one! ASK ABOUT SPECIAL PRICING FOR US! **Because we require home visits, we only adopt locally to the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
