Story
All of our cats are current on vaccines, combo tested (FIV/FELV) , spayed/neutered, microchipped, given rabies vaccine as age appropriate, flea treatment and dewormer as needed   Harriett Female, spayed DOB: 2009 Meet Harriett. She’s a beautiful, long-haired calico senior who recently came up from the Galveston Humane Society to Dallas. We don’t know her story, but our guess is her owner either went to a nursing home or passed away. Harriett is very sweet and loves to be petted and gently brushed. She’s content sitting quietly. Her foster mom says Harriett would love to be someone’s lap kitty. Because of her age, she needs to be in a low key household. An update on Harriet.  She had abnormal kidney function on recent labwork.  So we started fluid therapy.  The fluids are helping as she's eating almost normally now and is a little bit more active PH**Want to adopt? If your're a Harry Potter fan, you'll recognize where she gets her name from! She loves to explore the house and her favorite game to play is hide and seek. She really enjoys cuddling alongside her siblings, especially with her sister Hermione, but another one of her favorite spots to rest is at the top of her cat tree under the sunlight. She grows more and more confident around humans every day and would make an adorable addition to your household. Because she is especially close to Hermione (they were brought in together), it is preferred that they be adopted together.    **Want to adopt? Story
Lily and Millie are sister cats that I got from the animal shelter after my dog passed away. I did not think I wanted to get another dog so I decided to get these cats. I must confess now that I am NOT a cat person. I have tried to be patient with them but they are active cats and I am older and do not have the time of desire to play with them. I would really like to place them together. They are very sweet cats and deserve to have a home where they are loved.

Story
Hi! My name is Sweetums. I got my name from you guessed it…being so sweet. I was originally brought into TexasCARES as a pregnant momma. I was the best momma and all of my babies got adopted. I was adopted too but somehow I found myself back on the street and fending for myself. I didn’t deserve that and I am so happy to be back inside and safe. Because I was living on the streets, I am cautious of new people. Once you build my trust, I will love you forever!  I am not a big fan of other cats and dogs probably due to having to live in such a stressful situation outside. Everything was pretty scary for me. I would love to be an only pet in a home with a caring person or family who would let me cuddle by their side. Older kids that don’t want to carry me around would be fine. I do love pets and playing with toys is my favorite. Any wand toy will keep me endlessly entertained. I sure hope you will consider giving me my forever home! I promise I am so worth it.      NOTE:   While currently in great health, Sweetums has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).  Many FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives with no symptoms at all, especially when raised exclusively indoors.   However, FIV can weaken a cat’s immune system over a period of years so proactive vet care is crucial.  FIV is not communicable to people or other pets such as dogs, rabbits, etc.  The virus is not spread among cats through casual contact such as shared food/water/litter, mutual grooming, or playing.  It is most commonly spread through deep bite wounds inflicted as part of serious aggression among cats.   We encourage you to do some research on FIV – too many great kitties get passed over due to outdated or inaccurate information about this condition.  April 19, 2024, 8:38 pm

Story
We have 2 adult cats that need to be rehomed. Hazel (7 yrs) is the mamma, she is the black/brown cat. Momo (5yrs) old is the daughter and she is the calico. We had to take them in due to my grandfather passing away and not wanting them to go to the shelter. Unfortunately, we can’t keep them because we are not sure if they will be okay around our dogs. They were around more senior dogs and that was fine, however we don’t want to chance them being in a more active household with a dog that is a hunter. Both cats are very chill and we would prefer them to go into a household that already has cats or non at all. They both have grown up around kids and people and are very friendly. Hazel is much more interactive than Momo, since it takes her more time to come around. They both are low maintenance cats but they need more attention by people who have a more flexible schedule also.Their favorite thing to do is sun bath by the windows and cat cry to you when they are in need of your attention

Story
Meet Cleo! Cleo "Cleopatra" is a beautiful cat with big green eyes who is shy but affectionate when she warms up to anyone. She has a little cut on her right tip of her ear from when she was living in the streets. Her favorite spot to be scratched is her chin. Cleo is both shy and curious about her surroundings. But once she feels safe and comfortable she makes herself home and lays around. Cleo was found in a parking lot and after few head scratches she instantly felt comfortable to be around me where she could be pick up. The vet put her over the age of 1 years old. Cleo is such a smart and loving that she deserves the best instead of being in the streets. DOB: 03/01/2022 ************************************** Our adoption fees are $125 for one, $200 for 2, and cover the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots, microchip, combo test, deworming, and collar and ID tag. We require our adopters are 21 years old or older, keep the cat inside only (unless on a leash/harness or in a catio), and do not declaw./

Story
Maxwell is approximately 4 1/2 years old. He and his siblings came into the rescue as kittens. He was adopted in 2019 but sadly his family decided not to keep him through no fault of his. He loves squirrel watching in the mornings and raccoon watching in the evenings. He loves his food so there's more of him to love. His ideal hime would be with another kitty sibling to play with. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. The standard minimum donation for kittens is $200, cats over 12 months is $150 and for our senior cats, $100. You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallasdogrrr.org. For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org. For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org. Upon receiving your application please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process. Thank you for your interest in adopting a Dallas DogRRR.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
My name is Shannon and I need a savior. I was adopted as a kitten (with my sister) almost 6 years ago. After 5 years my guardians made the difficult decision to return me to the rescue because my siblings and I were no longer getting along. I was scared and confused and sad my humans had sent me away. I spent the first 9 months in two different foster homes where they showed me so much love and attention, and always had a lap for me to lay in. Sadly, due to family allergies, I had to leave my foster home and enter boarding right before Christmas. That's where I remain today. I'm not fond of it here. They are very nice to me, and I have plenty of food in my belly, but I miss being able to run and play and sun myself in the window like I used to. I was once quite the confident diva, sass and all, but the longer I'm here, the more withdrawn and depressed I become. I miss my humans so much. My perfect savior would be patient with me as I reacclimate back into a quiet, home environment with no small children. Prior to boarding I thought I would be best as an only kitty, but now maybe I could tolerate an older, senior cat if they would be nice to me. I might even enjoy a doggie sibling if they were the chill sort. I'm not sure, I've never been around one. I'm dealing with some allergies right now, but they have me on special food and eye drops and I'm getting much better. Please look at my photos and see what a loving, biscuit making, lap kitty I can be! Did I mention my beautiful, chiseled bone structure? I just need someone to believe in me and give me a chance! Will that person be you?
