Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      Nashville is a bright, confident puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart! This zany little guy approaches life with enthusiasm and curiosity, always ready for his next adventure. Whether he’s zooming around the yard, playing with his favorite toys, or making new friends, Nashville brings fun wherever he goes. Nashville loves people of all ages, including children, and is incredibly affectionate. Give him about two minutes to introduce himself, and he’ll be ready to shower you with cuddles and puppy kisses. He thrives on attention and loves being part of whatever his family is doing. This intelligent pup is doing wonderfully with leash training and enjoys exploring the world on walks. One of his cutest habits is stopping mid-walk just to sit and take in the sights around him. He loves observing everything happening in his surroundings before continuing on his way. Nashville is also learning to fetch and enjoys running and playing in the yard. Playful, goofy, smart, and eager to engage with his people, Nashville has all the makings of an amazing companion. He rides well in the car and would love a family that is ready for the fun, laughter, and occasional puppy antics that come with raising an active young dog. If you’re looking for a sweet, energetic sidekick who will keep you smiling and then happily curl up for snuggles, Nashville may be the perfect addition to your family! I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Guess what? I will be at Indeed Brewing, 711 NE 15th Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55413 for an Adoption Event on Saturday, June 27th from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Come and meet me! Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.        Snow’s story begins in a way no dog’s ever should. She was rescued in Arkansas as part of an animal cruelty case, and what she endured is something we’ll never fully understand. But what matters most about Snow isn’t where she started—it’s who she is now. And who she is now? An absolute angel. Snow is one of those dogs who just… wants to love and be loved. She’s gentle, sweet, and so eager to make her people happy. Despite everything she’s been through, she meets the world with trust, kindness, and the softest little soul. She does great with kids, gets along well with other dogs, and while she hasn’t officially met any cats yet, her easygoing nature suggests she might be just fine. She’d love a doggy friend, but she’d also be perfectly content being your one and only—as long as she’s getting all the love she deserves. Snow is potty trained when kept on a schedule (about every 4 hours works great), and she thrives on routine. She’s still building confidence on a leash, so a fenced yard is important for her while she continues learning. And yes—Snow has just one eye. But around here, we think that just adds to her charm and her story. She doesn’t let it slow her down one bit, and honestly? She’s already twice the dog—strong, resilient, and full of love. Snow isn’t defined by what happened to her. She’s defined by how she shows up now: brave, forgiving, and ready to be someone’s whole world. If you’re looking for a best friend who will love you deeply, quietly, and completely… Snow is your girl   I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Story
Welcome Kai to CCPAL Rescue foster program.  Kai is a very sweet girl, she is just about 1 year old. She is a German Shepherd/Smooth Collie (BorderCollie)  She weighs about 60 pounds and should stay medium sized.  She is good on a leash, good with other dogs.  She is mostly with her sister in her foster home.  She uses a doggy door and is good on leash and in a car.  She is fully potty trained and very smart.  She is good with children and likes toys.  She would be best with someone that is active and outdoorsy.  She would be fine as an only dog or would be good with another dog.  She will be a fun one to train.  She has good eye contact and attention to who is speaking with her.  She has one upright ear and one that is not.  She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed and ready for her forever home.  She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast.  She would be a great family companion and could go with children.  We like children to be 8 or older.  Please be patient when you put in your application. Adoption fee for Kia is $400 and transport is $200.  This is a very desirable breed mix.   We are being very careful in vetting people and we are a small group of volunteers. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

Story
A portion of my adoption fee has been sponsored by The Wilbur Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $250.00 will be applied during the contract process. Hi, my name is Ringo, and I am from Tennessee! Ringo is a special dog. He’s a male Australian Cattle Dog/Red Speckled Heeler, and true to his breed. Instead of trying to move cattle along, another dog will do! In play he will nip at my dog’s heels, which inspires her to more play and soon both dogs are rolling around, then up and racing around the obstacle course in my back yard! Ringo plays hard, but gently. He loves to jump up after squirrels and birds in the trees and bushes, so he’ll need a 5 foot or higher fence. Then with a single call “come” he responds and comes on command. He’s smart, easy to please, and will look to his person for assurance, for he experiences separation anxiety. He has progressed so much, but he will need a person with patience and is willing to help him feel less anxious. Also, a resident dog about his size (30-40 lbs) will help him become less dependent on his person. Ringo is very well behaved in the house and on walks. With training he’s learning to not react to other dogs and their people. He is very gentle with my cat and has warmed up to my 11 year old granddaughter. On a short leash he has not reacted nervously to small children. He will bark loudly at certain outside noises or when in the car and people walk by but is learning to stop barking when commanded to stop. Each day he seems to relax more as he experiences new activities and sights. He enjoys his walks and won’t wander far from your side, often checking to see you following. Training assistance has been very beneficial to Ringo. At this time a woman would be the best fit for Ringo, with slow introductions to men/boys he does not know. He definitely has a gentleness about him, and would love a forever home.

Story
Hi, I’m Khalie — Professional Hug Dealer and Recovering Introvert Hi there! I’m Khalie, and I’d like to start by clearing up a common misunderstanding. Some people think I’m shy. That’s only true for approximately the first 37 seconds after we meet (and with loud noises and quick movements)! At first, I might duck my head when you reach out to pet me, as if I’m a delicate woodland creature who has never encountered human affection before. Then suddenly I’ll remember that I LOVE human affection and immediately start handing out hugs, climbing into your lap, and demanding additional pets like it’s my full-time job. My favorite hobby is hugging people. Not sitting next to them. Not politely leaning on them. Actual hugs. I take my job very seriously. I have what I would call “moderate athlete” energy. I’d love a nice walk in the morning, another in the afternoon, and plenty of time to explore a yard. Toys, however, are largely beneath me. I do have exactly ONE toy that I like, and I carry it back to my crate every chance I get. Why do I love that toy and ignore all others? That’s between me and the toy. When I want attention, I gently nudge your hand for pets. When that doesn’t work, I upgrade to hugs. It’s a highly effective system. New people are pretty great. I may be a little cautious at first, but once you offer a few pets, I’ll quickly decide we’re best friends and begin my hugging campaign. I feel safest around calm, gentle people who move slowly and speak softly. Once we’ve built a bond, though, you can excitedly yell my name and I’ll come zooming toward you like I just won the lottery. My idea of playtime is refreshingly simple: a nice walk or relaxing with a bully stick in my crate. I don’t need elaborate entertainment. I’m a minimalist. One thing that makes my foster family laugh? Occasionally I still believe stairs are meant to be launched from rather than walked down. Why take the boring route when you can add a little drama? I’ve been working very hard on my house-training skills. In my previous home, I learned some habits that weren’t exactly ideal, but I’m catching on quickly and making great progress. I sleep quietly in my crate all night, do wonderfully when kenneled, and I’m learning commands like sit and stay. Basically, I’m trying very hard to earn my “best girl” diploma. I do have one small quirk: I prefer to enjoy my meals and treats without other dogs crowding my personal dining space. When food is involved, I appreciate having my own area, so I happily eat and enjoy treats in my crate. I’ve never had an issue with people handling my food—this is strictly a “please respect my bubble, fellow dogs” situation. If I could tell my future family one thing, it’s this: once I trust you, you’ll never wonder whether you’re loved. I’ll make sure of that. Between the hugs, the snuggles, the hand nudges, and the happy zoomies when I hear your voice, you’ll know exactly how much I adore you. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some hugs to distribute.

Story
Meet Pancake, a playful and affectionate collie-beagle mix all the way from Texas! At around 1 year old, this fun-loving girl is full of personality, curiosity, and youthful energy. She’s always ready for her next adventure and would thrive in an active home that enjoys hiking, camping, exploring, or simply spending lots of time outdoors. Pancake absolutely loves being outside—running, sniffing, exploring, and watching the world go by from the front steps are some of her favorite things. She’s a silly, happy girl who brings enthusiasm to everything she does and would make a wonderful companion for an active family or someone looking for an adventure buddy. She’s settling nicely into home life, sleeps quietly in her kennel overnight, and is learning the routines of being a well-loved family dog. Like many young adults, Pancake still has plenty of energy and will benefit from continued training, structure, and patience as she works on her manners. Right now, her excitement can come out in enthusiastic jumping, but she’s smart, eager to learn, and responds well to guidance. Pancake is affectionate, loyal, and loves being part of the action. Her ideal forever family will embrace her playful spirit while helping her continue to build confidence and skills as she grows. If you’re looking for a sweet, energetic dog who’s ready to love big and live life to the fullest, Pancake is ready to pack her bags and move in!

Story
Butterscotch is a 7-month old Cattle Dog/Husky mix and we have had her since she was 3 months old. She is very sweet, loving, and smart. She knows how to sit, stay, lay down, and is a pretty good walker on a leash. She loves her peanut butter and toys. She loves to explore, go on long walks. and car rides for a treat. We are looking to rehome her because we currently do not have the bandwidth with our jobs to give her the proper care, exercise, and attention she needs. The best kind of home for her would be a home with a fenced-in yard that she can run in with another dog in the house to help keep her company as well as someone who doesn't mind her following them around all the time when they are home. She is very good with other dogs and loves everyone she meets. She is okay with cats. She wants to play with them but plays a little too rough.

Story
Meet Harley! Harley is a 25–30 pound Border Collie/Blue Heeler mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for adventure. This one year old little girl is true to her herding breed roots, she’s incredibly smart, alert, and always ready for a job—whether that’s showing off her natural herding instincts or keeping up with you on outdoor adventures. One of Harley’s absolute favorite things is swimming. If there’s water nearby, she’s in it! She would thrive in an active home that enjoys hiking, exploring, or spending time outdoors. She’s the kind of dog who will happily be your sidekick wherever you go. Harley gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion to play with. However, due to her strong prey drive, she would do best in a home without small animals like cats or rabbits. If you’re looking for a loyal, energetic, and fun-loving companion who’s always ready for the next adventure, Harley might just be your perfect match. Harley is being fostered in MS but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal friendly transport on the road! We look forward to hearing from you and will be happy to answer any questions about her that you may have!
