Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is Bannon.  I was born somewhere around Christmas in 2020, am a Collie/Shepherd mix, and weigh about 40lbs. Another interesting fact about me is I weaned 11 puppies!   My foster family includes two teenagers and 2 big dogs. I do fine with most dogs, however I do need slow introductions because I get nervous in new situations. Probably no dog parks for me anytime soon.  I am not good with cats, or small dogs.  I have a small prey drive.    I am working on walking on a leash, but my preference is a large fenced back yard. I need exercise, so please plan to take me on long walks/runs or a good playtime in the backyard a couple times a day.     I have a few things that I am working on. One is I'm mouthy with people. I'm not trying to bite you, but my excitement overtakes me sometimes. My foster family is working on me getting a stuffie when I start to go over threshold. So, having a lot of toys around for me is important to keep on this training. I also am jumpy. So, probably no small kiddos for me. Both behaviors are common in younger dogs and tend to subside with constant training     I am crate trained when my people are home so if I truly need a break, that is a safe place for me to rest. When you are away, I am not a huge fan of the crate but have not ever broken out of it. I do bark a little in the crate, especially when I know you are home.     The biggest consideration a potential adopter for me should have is my boundless energy. Being a running partner would be a dream come true for me. Otherwise, a fenced in yard where I can endlessly play fetch would be wonderful. I'm also very smart, so if you're looking for a dog to impressively train or teach a job to, I'm your gal! NOTE: Bannon tested positive for Lymes Disease. This is a tick borne illness that is relatively common in dogs who live in states where ticks are more prevalent. Most dogs live their whole lives with no issues or flare ups caused by these diseases. It is important that Bannon's adopters know what symptoms to watch for when a flare-up occurs so she can be put on meds to keep it at bay. The treatment for this is a 30 day course of Doxycycline, a relatively inexpensive antibiotic. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination. Cat friendly: Yes with dog savvy cats Kid friendly: Older kids only, please! Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes when I can see other dogs **NEEDS ANOTHER CONFIDENT DOG IN THE HOME AND A FENCED YARD**  Hi there! I’m Addie, and I am the sweetest little girl you’ll ever meet! I didn’t have the easiest start to life, so I’m nervous of new people at first, but I warm up after I realize I’m home and safe. Boy oh boy, do I looooove to cuddle, and I like pets and scritches. I really want to be loved, so please take a chance on me, even though I’m scared at first! I need another dog in my home to teach me how to be confident and to bond with. I absolutely LOVE my doggo foster brother and playing with him, so I would love nothing more than having another pup that wants to run around with me. My dog friend being my best friend is so important for me to continue to live my best life. Because of my fears, I'll need a securely fenced yard to live my happiest life, and you'll see a different side of me when I'm outside playing! I’m doing really well walking on leash, but I get scared of new people that are on the sidewalk too, but once they pass, I’m super happy again! I am potty trained on a schedule when you're home with me, but I can also keep my kennel clean for a work day.  Because I’m a border collie, I do sometimes get a little nippy trying to herd you, but that only happens if I’m really excited. I think that once I'm comfortable with you, I would be really great at agility or other training too, so feel free to put my border collie abilities to the test! I get really scared by sudden, loud noises and fast movements, so I would do best in a home without little kids. Other than that, I just want all the loving I can get from other dogs and adults! Will you be my new family? Adoption Fee: $595  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.INTERESTED IN MEETING ME? If you’d like to arrange a private meeting or begin the adoption process, please fill out an adoption application by visiting    https://www.healingheartsrescue.org/adopt   **Note on breed and age determination:  Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.   ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Wellness check Spay/neuter (puppies adopted with required spay/neuter certificate) Age appropriate vaccines - rabies as required by law and distemper combo or proof of positive titer test Heartworm test if over 7 months of age Fecal test and/or deworming for parasites Microchip &#226&#128&#139 ~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care. &#226&#128&#139~ Adoption fees are non-negotiable and fees are listed on the dog's profile   ~ Adoption fees can be paid the following ways with the required sales tax added: PayPal Credit Card Cash WANT TO HELP SAVE MORE DOGS?   Healing Hearts Rescue is a nonprofit, foster-based rescue  located in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota  that  is 100% funded through adoption fees and donations .  We are excited for you to join us on this mission to save the lives of dogs in need.   We believe every dog deserves to be loved as true members of a family and are committed to fulfilling that dream one dog at a time! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Leo already went through a lot in his short time of life. He was living alone in a coal mine, being fed once a week by a security guard there. Needless to say, he was extremely underweight and tick infested. A Good Samaritan stepped up and took him in before something bad could happen to him. Unfortunately, the Good Samaritan wasn’t allowed to have dogs in her home and couldn’t keep him. That is how this special guy ended up with us. It is amazing how affectionate and loving Leo is after these poor experiences. He is not food aggressive or possessive with toys. He loves to share with his furry friends and enjoys a good game of tug of war. He loves to play with his dog friends outside just running around. He’s not much into playing fetch yet and does well on his potty training. He rides well in the car and seems to be intimidated by cats. He is a little skittish with loud noises, but who can blame him. We are working on leash manners. He loves people and loves to hang out on the couch and touch his humans. He is pretty submissive and rolls on his back right away when you offer pets. There are no small children in her foster home, but I think he would be fine as long as they are respectful to his personal space. He is not very barky. At night he sleeps in his kennel and is quiet until it’s time to get up.   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 11, 2023, 12:06 am
