He’s a male Australian Cattle Dog/Red Speckled Heeler, and true to his breed. Instead of trying to move cattle along, another dog will do! In play he will nip at my dog’s heels, which inspires her to more play and soon both dogs are rolling around, then up and racing around the obstacle course in my back yard! Ringo plays hard, but gently. He loves to jump up after squirrels and birds in the trees and bushes, so he’ll need a 5 foot or higher fence. Then with a single call “come” he responds and comes on command. He’s smart, easy to please, and will look to his person for assurance, for he experiences separation anxiety. He has progressed so much, but he will need a person with patience and is willing to help him feel less anxious. Also, a resident dog about his size (30-40 lbs) will help him become less dependent on his person. Ringo is very well behaved in the house and on walks. With training he’s learning to not react to other dogs and their people. He is very gentle with my cat and has warmed up to my 11 year old granddaughter. On a short leash he has not reacted nervously to small children. He will bark loudly at certain outside noises or when in the car and people walk by but is learning to stop barking when commanded to stop. Each day he seems to relax more as he experiences new activities and sights. He enjoys his walks and won’t wander far from your side, often checking to see you following. Training assistance has been very beneficial to Ringo. At this time a woman would be the best fit for Ringo, with slow introductions to men/boys he does not know. He definitely has a gentleness about him, and would love a forever home.

Welcome Kai to CCPAL Rescue foster program. Kai is a very sweet girl, she is just about 1 year old. She is a German Shepherd/Smooth Collie (BorderCollie) She weighs about 60 pounds and should stay medium sized. She is good on a leash, good with other dogs. She is mostly with her sister in her foster home. She uses a doggy door and is good on leash and in a car. She is fully potty trained and very smart. She is good with children and likes toys. She would be best with someone that is active and outdoorsy. She would be fine as an only dog or would be good with another dog. She will be a fun one to train. She has good eye contact and attention to who is speaking with her. She has one upright ear and one that is not. She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed and ready for her forever home. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. She would be a great family companion and could go with children. We like children to be 8 or older. Please be patient when you put in your application. Adoption fee for Kia is $400 and transport is $200. This is a very desirable breed mix. We are being very careful in vetting people and we are a small group of volunteers. Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I'm Lassie, a 10-year-old, 55# Border Collie mix, and I'm proof that growing older means you get better at appreciating the good things in life. My theme song is Happy by Pharrell Williams, and once you meet me, you'll understand why! These days, my favorite things are simple. I love a nice, leisurely walk, followed by a fluffy dog bed where I can stretch out and relax. If it's warm, an AC vent works too!! I'm also an enthusiastic fan of pets, attention, and giving kisses to my favorite people. My ideal home is peaceful with a family who enjoys staying close to home and believes in getting out for daily exercise. Short strolls are my favorite - I'm an amazing walking companion. My stamina is building as I lose weight toward my 45# goal. Traffic, strange noises, and other dogs do not bother me. My fosters have taken me on outings to a parade and a brewery, and I got an A+ at both events! I could happily live with another calm dog or be your one-and-only. Cats are no problem - we can coexist easily. Gentle, calm children could be part of my family, too. A fenced yard would be wonderful but its not a requirement. I want to be near my people, only outside if they are with me. You can leave me loose in the house for short periods (my fosters have left me for a couple hours so far). After suddenly losing my person, a lot has changed for me. My foster family is helping me learn to feel relaxed, and I move a little slowly due to extra weight and minor arthritis. Each pound I lose makes me feel much better! (My haircut is part of the 'feel better' plan too - my mats are gone! One of my pictures shows my beautiful coat that will grow back soon.) Poppy is a brilliant, busy Border Collie mix. This dynamo has a mind that is always working and a body that is always ready for the next adventure! She was born at the end of May 2026 and weighs 13#. Affectionately known as Popsicle or Poppers, she is spunky, athletic, driven, and remarkably intelligent. She notices everything, learns quickly, and genuinely wants to have a job. Balls and moving toys are her currency, and she spends her days chasing, thinking, learning, and enthusiastically chewing on a good bone, with puppy naps in between. Poppy is looking for a family who recognizes her potential and wants to develop it. A home involved in dog sports like herding or agility would be especially appealing to this ambitious little athlete. A leisurely stroll around the block will not sufficiently occupy this girls very capable brain! She needs meaningful activity, thoughtful training, and opportunities to learn. Because Poppy is both brilliant and sensitive, she needs a family experienced with herding breeds who understands the importance of positive reinforcement, consistency, structure, and gradual exposure to the world. Burt is a 45# Australian Cattle Dog mix dressed in a Border Collie suit. Do not mistake this little sporty spitfire for a calm, thoughtful Border Collie. Burt's high-octane energy is what makes him fun. He believes he is invincible and can do anything. His foster family fondly calls him Crash. Roughly 3 years old, Burt is old enough to know better and too young to care. He learns quickly and loves a challenge! He likes to climb ladders, walk on his hind legs for apples, and forage in the garden. This makes him a good candidate for circus life or living on the lam. Burt also loves to swim and play tug. There is very little he doesn't like: he puts his all into everything he does. In Burt's foster home, he lives with two other dogs, cats, and teenage kids.
