Story
I am looking for a foster or forever family! Please email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org if you can say YES to fostering this animal! Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt A portion of my adoption fee has been sponsored by The Wilbur Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $250.00 will be applied during the contract process. Hi, my name is Ringo, and I am from Tennessee! Ringo is a special dog. He’s a male Australian Cattle Dog/Red Speckled Heeler, and true to his breed. Instead of trying to move cattle along, another dog will do! In play he will nip at my dog’s heels, which inspires her to more play and soon both dogs are rolling around, then up and racing around the obstacle course in my back yard! Ringo plays hard, but gently. He loves to jump up after squirrels and birds in the trees and bushes, so he’ll need a 5 foot or higher fence. Then with a single call “come” he responds and comes on command. He’s smart, easy to please, and will look to his person for assurance, for he experiences separation anxiety. He has progressed so much, but he will need a person with patience and is willing to help him feel less anxious. Also, a resident dog about his size (30-40 lbs) will help him become less dependent on his person. Ringo is very well behaved in the house and on walks. With training he’s learning to not react to other dogs and their people. He is very gentle with my cat and has warmed up to my 11 year old granddaughter. On a short leash he has not reacted nervously to small children. He will bark loudly at certain outside noises or when in the car and people walk by but is learning to stop barking when commanded to stop. Each day he seems to relax more as he experiences new activities and sights. He enjoys his walks and won’t wander far from your side, often checking to see you following. Training assistance has been very beneficial to Ringo. At this time a woman would be the best fit for Ringo, with slow introductions to men/boys he does not know. He definitely has a gentleness about him, and would love a forever home.

Story
Meet Nokomis! 🐾 Say hello to Nokomis, an adorable 15-week-old puppy who is ready to find his forever family! 💙 Nokomis is a happy, playful boy who loves being around other dogs. He enjoys having a canine friend to romp and play with, and we think he would thrive in a home with another playful, dog-savvy pup who can show him the ropes and help teach him all about being the best dog he can be. Like any young puppy, Nokomis is still learning! He is working hard on his potty training and is already doing well with his sit. He has a typical puppy mindset, which means his forever family should be prepared for some puppy antics, patience, consistency, and lots of opportunities to learn and grow. With the right guidance, we know this sweet boy has all the potential to become an amazing companion. ❤️ Nokomis has been around cats and will likely do well with dog-savvy cats when given proper introductions and time to adjust. We aren't completely sure what his breed mix is. Our best guesses include Collie, and American Staffordshire Terrier. But whatever his mix, we know one thing for sure: Nokomis is 100% adorable! 🥰 If you're looking for a playful puppy who will keep you smiling, learning, and laughing, Nokomis might just be your guy! 🐶💙 *This animal will be attending our Summer of Love Adoption Event at the Mall of America on Sunday, August 16th, from 1-3 PM. If you're interested in adopting, you must attend the event in person and be prepared to take the animal home that same day. Adoptions will be handled on-site only—please do not submit an online application prior to the event. Adoption decisions are made at the discretion of our staff and fosters. If this animal is not adopted at the event, they may become available through our standard adoption process afterward. Animal availability is subject to change at any time.* ---- *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.*

This little shadow loves being close to her people and will happily follow you from room to room. Her favorite place to be is outside, where she can stretch out in the grass, soak up the sunshine, and chase butterflies around the yard. Reba is a smart girl who is already learning commands such as “no,” “sit,” “inside,” and “lay down.” She is doing wonderfully with potty training and is sleeping through the night in her kennel with only minimal potty breaks. She’s also a great listener and is eager to learn. Like many young puppies, she is still working on keeping all four paws on the ground, walking politely on a leash, and not nipping when she gets overly excited. When she’s not exploring the backyard, Reba enjoys chewing on bones, playing tug-of-war, munching on treats, and carrying around stuffed animals—especially if they happen to belong to the kids! She absolutely adores her foster dog sibling and spends much of her time running alongside her, roughhousing, and following her wherever she goes. Reba is currently living in a home with two young children, a resident dog, and a cat, and she has access to a large fenced backyard where she loves to wander and play. Because she is still learning boundaries and can get excited, she would likely do best with a family with older children who can help reinforce her training and continue building her confidence. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and outdoorsy companion who will be your constant sidekick, Reba may be the perfect addition to your family!   About Me:  Hi! My name is Reba.  I’m a fun, energetic girl who loves being with my people. Since I was found as a stray, I spent much of my early life outdoors, so it’s still my favorite place to be. You’ll usually find me soaking up the sunshine, running around the yard with my foster sister, chasing butterflies, or happily chewing on a bone. One of my favorite things to do is sit at my foster parents’ feet and look up at them. They give the best pets, tell me what a “good girl” I am, and make me feel so loved. I’m a smart pup and have learned that when I hear “sit” or “kennel up,” I usually earn a tasty treat. I’m learning new things every day and can’t wait to keep showing everyone what a good girl I can be. I’m so excited to find my forever family—one that will love me as much as I’ll love them. I can’t wait to meet you!   August 13, 2026, 6:46 pm

Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $300 (in TX)

Story
Welcome Kai to CCPAL Rescue foster program.  Kai is a very sweet girl, she is just about 1 year old. She is a German Shepherd/Smooth Collie (BorderCollie)  She weighs about 60 pounds and should stay medium sized.  She is good on a leash, good with other dogs.  She is mostly with her sister in her foster home.  She uses a doggy door and is good on leash and in a car.  She is fully potty trained and very smart.  She is good with children and likes toys.  She would be best with someone that is active and outdoorsy.  She would be fine as an only dog or would be good with another dog.  She will be a fun one to train.  She has good eye contact and attention to who is speaking with her.  She has one upright ear and one that is not.  She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed and ready for her forever home.  She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast.  She would be a great family companion and could go with children.  We like children to be 8 or older.  Please be patient when you put in your application. Adoption fee for Kia is $400 and transport is $200.  This is a very desirable breed mix.   We are being very careful in vetting people and we are a small group of volunteers. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Hello! My name is Tommy! I am about 1.5 years old. I look like I could be a border collie staffy mix, but I’m not 100% sure what breeds are in my doggie family tree. What I can tell you: I’m a perfect medium sized guy with a massive zest for life! I give every activity 110% Walks? Love them! Zoomies in the yard? Yes please! Food, YAS! Cuddles- here I come!!!! I currently live with 3 dogs and I’ve lived well with cats. I get along with all types of dogs, I really love to play and romp around with canine friends. I walk well on a leash, I am crate trained, and now, with my new structure and I am potty trained too! My foster mom is so happy with how easy I am to train, I really just want to make my humans happy. I am a bit of a ladies man and I love all kids! Sometimes it takes me just a little bit to warm up to some men, but treats helps me know he is ok. My ideal home will be with someone who is willing to continue and likes training - I promise I make it fun because I like to learn and work. I also thrive with structure and will make a perfect running or hiking buddy. And after a fun day, I am ready to snuggle and watch sports or Hallmark! I am a very sweet boy is loves life and is excited to be your new bestie! Come meet me and you will love me!
