Story
Joyful. Smiley. Gentle. Silly. If you're looking for a dog who brightens your day simply by being herself, you found her! I'm Lassie, a 10-year-old, 55# Border Collie mix, and I'm proof that growing older means you get better at appreciating the good things in life. My theme song is Happy by Pharrell Williams, and once you meet me, you'll understand why! These days, my favorite things are simple. I love a nice, leisurely walk, followed by a fluffy dog bed where I can stretch out and relax. If it's warm, an AC vent works too!! I'm also an enthusiastic fan of pets, attention, and giving kisses to my favorite people. My ideal home is peaceful with a family who enjoys staying close to home and believes in getting out for daily exercise. Short strolls are my favorite - I'm an amazing walking companion. My stamina is building as I lose weight toward my 45# goal. Traffic, strange noises, and other dogs do not bother me. My fosters have taken me on outings to a parade and a brewery, and I got an A+ at both events! I could happily live with another calm dog or be your one-and-only. Cats are no problem - we can coexist easily. Gentle, calm children could be part of my family, too. A fenced yard would be wonderful but its not a requirement. I want to be near my people, only outside if they are with me. You can leave me loose in the house for short periods (my fosters have left me for a couple hours so far). After suddenly losing my person, a lot has changed for me. My foster family is helping me learn to feel relaxed, and I move a little slowly due to extra weight and minor arthritis. Each pound I lose makes me feel much better! (My haircut is part of the 'feel better' plan too - my mats are gone! My beautiful coat will grow back soon) If you're looking for a sweet companion who appreciates quiet days, comfortable beds, gentle affection, and little adventures, I might be your girl. My forever home will gain a little happiness every single day. Lassie is being fostered in Savage, MN. APPLY to adopt her at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Lassie is taking supplements and medication that are approximately $60/month. We believe weight loss and time to settle will make the world of difference for this special girl, reducing the need for these items. Details will be provided to interested families. Her adoption fee is $250 plus Minnesota tax. Lassie is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Story
At just 18 months old and around 40# (plus a whole lot of fluff!), Marco is an adorable Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix (our best guess). He is a loyal, slightly clumsy and utterly lovable Velcro dog, happiest wherever his people are. With lovely medium energy, Marco is always up for playing and doing things with his family. He is equally happy relaxing in the yard, soaking up the sunshine while watching his favorite show, Bunny TV. Cuddling with his humans is another favorite pastime. He discovered the joy of toys, and his goofy play style is downright adorable. Marco can be shy when meeting new people. He prefers to take his time, observe, think things over, and then decide when he's ready to approach. Once he feels safe, his sweet personality shines. Patience, kindness, and allowing him to move at his own pace are key to building his confidence and winning his trust. The ideal family for this handsome lad will help him become more confident without sheltering him from the world. He wants to explore, experience new things, and expand his horizons. He loves being outdoors and loves going for walks. A securely fenced yard would be amazing: he would love a safe place to explore and gain faith in himself. Marco does well with the cats in his foster home, simply ignoring them. We know from his prior home that he cannot live with free-range chickens. A calm, confident canine companion could be a good match after proper introductions. He could live with mature children who understand that loud noises and being startled aren't his jam. He is housebroken once settled into a new routine. Relaxes in his crate when his people are away. He wants to take his new family to obedience classes to learn lots of things and spend time together. You will not find a more devoted companion than Marco. He cannot wait to find a deep connection with a special family that will treasure him as much as he will adore them. APPLY to adopt him at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Marco is being fostered in Rochester, MN. His adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Story
First, his looks catch your eye. Then you learn about his personality and you're hooked! Blaze is a 54#, 5-year-old Border Collie with a sunny personality and a zest for life that's as bright as a perfect summer day. He thinks every day should include a game of fetch or frisbee and plenty of time spent with his favorite people. Happy-go-lucky, affectionate, and adventurous, Blaze loves being part of the action, whether that's a morning walk, a trip to the park, or a backyard barbecue. His energy level is a wonderful balance: he's always ready for fun and activity, and he's equally happy to relax and enjoy downtime with his family afterward. Blaze would thrive with an active, herding breed-experienced family that appreciates both his intelligence and enthusiasm. He walks beautifully on leash without pulling and is well-socialized in the world. He's crate trained and keeps four on the floor. He knows a few basic obedience commands and wants to learn more. With his smarts, a little time and some good treats, and we bet he can learn anything! A fenced yard would be ideal for Blaze so he has room to stretch his legs and enjoy his favorite games. He can happily live as an only dog or with a canine companion. He is a herding dog, which includes nipping at ankles if given the opportunity. Families with older kids are the best fit no littles, please. He likes to check cats out, but is not aggressive. He could live with dog-savvy felines. Blaze will be an even happier boy when he loses roughly 7-8 lbs. If you're looking for a loyal adventure buddy who will happily join you for all of life's summer fun, and then curl up nearby when the day is done, Blaze may be your perfect match! APPLY to adopt him at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Blaze is being fostered in Clear Lake, MN. His adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Story
Meet Cupcake, affectionately known as Cece. Simply stated, she is a delight! This 36#, 12.5-year-old Sheltie and Border Collie mix who proves that age is just a number. She has plenty of pep in her step, a lovely prance when she is happiest, and a zest for life that charms everyone she meets. Describing Cupcake is easy. She's friendly, affectionate, confident, curious, observant and just a bit spicy. She wants to be close to her people, joining in on whatever they are doing. Whether its accompanying them on a leisurely stroll, supervising backyard activities, or simply lounging nearby for ear and butt scratches, Cece enjoys being part of the family. Her ideal day includes a couple of walks where she can stop and investigate interesting smells along the way. Her ears perk up, her tail rises proudly, and off she goes, ready to explore the world one sniff at a time. A few tosses of a Frisbee or ball, rolling in the grass, watching birds from the deck, and savoring peanut butter frozen treats are also high on her list of favorites. Cupcake would thrive in a home that appreciates a medium-energy companion. She doesn't need a fenced yard if she can spend time exploring safely on a leash. She's fine with another calm, low-key dog or as the canine center of attention. She does well with cats and even naps alongside her feline friends. Because quick movements can startle her, Cupcake would do best in a home without young children. She prefers to dine alone without concern for another dog trying to get at her food dish. She is a healthy, happy girl with lots of love to give. If you're looking for a loyal companion for walks, adventures, and cozy evenings, Cece may be the perfect match. APPLY to adopt her at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Cupcake is being fostered in Lindstrom, MN. Cupcake's adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor. She is spayed and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
Remy wakes up every morning ready for the best day ever. Energetic, enthusiastic, sweet and affectionate, this 10-month-old, 21# Pomeranian and Border Collie mix (plus a sprinkling of a few other breeds) is packed with personality, charm, and an endless zest for life. He's looking for a fun-loving, active home where his personality and energy will fit right in. Whether heading out on a neighborhood walk, exploring a new park, or hanging out with his favorite people, Remy approaches everything with curiosity and joy. He's wonderfully social, taking new places, new people, and new dogs in stride. Kitties? No problem - he happily shares his foster home with cats. Like any growing puppy, Remy is polishing his manners. He's working on four paws on the ground, settle quietly in his crate, and picking up basic obedience skills. He's eager to learn, especially when there's praise involved... even better if string cheese is involved! He sleeps and eats in his crate, is potty trained on a schedule, and absolutely loves going for leash walks. When playtime rolls around, Remy is all in. Tennis balls, rubber squeaky toys, and Nyla Bones top his list of favorites. He wants daily walks to stay healthy and lots of play time. He is an energetic youngster with a nice off-switch, settling nicely in the house after an active day. Remy's ideal family will enjoy getting out for adventures with their 4-legged companion. He would be thrilled with a fenced yard and is also a candidate for families that know how to keep dogs safe on leash. He would adore a playful canine sibling or could happily be an only dog. Dog-savvy older children who understand how to respectfully interact with a busy young pup could be a good fit. If you're looking for a fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling, join every adventure, and reward you with endless affection, Remy is ready to become your best friend. He is being fostered in Ames, Iowa. Homes within 400 miles of Minneapolis/St. Paul will be considered. His adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Story
Hi! I'm Jazz, a 7-month-old, 29# Lab/Border Collie mix (best guess). I will quickly win your heart with my joy of life, love of snuggling and desire to learn new things. I'm a fun-sized package of curiosity, confidence, and enthusiasm, and I'm just getting started! As you might guess, I'm an energetic gal who loves to run, play, chase my dog friends, and investigate the world around me. Give me a ball - any ball! - or a chew toy anytime (see pics). Ready for a walk? Perfect! I'm doing great on leash and enjoy checking out new places. I'm incredibly friendly and take new people and urban noises in stride. I cannot wait to experience all sorts of adventures with my forever family. After I have a chance to burn some energy, it's time to cuddle on the couch. Chilling out together is one of my love languages. I will thrive with an active, adventurous family who wants to make me part of the team. Running, hiking, dog sports, skijoring... if you enjoy it, I will too! I do not need a fenced yard, though it would be amazing to have a safe play space. Another dog in my family would be great or I could also happily be the center of my family's attention. Dog-savvy cats and I should be fine with proper introductions. Kids under 10 are a-ok if they understand that puppy teeth and curious paws are part of the package. Basic obedience skills are on my agenda now, and I blow my foster family away with how quickly I learn. My new family and I will have a blast in classes while I learn nice manners. I want them to take me everywhere and am ready for school! If you're looking for a multi-talented, engaged, happy addition to your family, apply to adopt me at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Jazz is being fostered in Minneapolis, MN. This handsome Border Collie/German Shepherd mix is fully house-trained, kennel-trained, and has excellent leash manners. Ari is a fun-loving guy who needs a little time to warm up to other dogs, but once he’s comfortable, it’s a non-stop play fest. Because he has that classic herding dog intelligence and high energy, he can get a bit overwhelmed by the quick movements and unpredictability of toddlers, so he's looking for a home with no small kids where he can truly shine. Fully neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations, Ari is ready to bring a whole lot of love to his perfect forever home! --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Hi, I'm Cayden, a 5 yr old, 42# Australian Shepherd with luxurious hair, soulful eyes, and a deep love for my people. When we meet, I will roll over and let you rub my belly. That is how you know we are officially friends! I'm a chill guy who likes to see new places with my people and spend time together. My "off switch" means I am perfectly happy being home and hanging - no marathons for me! I also enjoy activities like car rides, pontoon adventures, and quality snuggle sessions. I am cuddly, calm, and thoughtful. I'm friendly with new people and adore school-aged kids! My foster family thinks dog-savvy cats would be ok for me. Honesty is important in any relationship. You should know that I get distracted by things like fast moving bikes, rollerblades, or very energetic dogs while we're out walking. I may need help managing my big feelings about all that movement. If you are observant, patient, and understand herding breeds, we will be great together. My dream match? Quiet homebodies with kind hearts, a couple of cool young kids, and lots of love to give. Being your one-and-only dog is important. I don't need a huge yard or nonstop entertainment. I just want my people. Maybe that's you? So... what do you think? Want to do this "life" thing together? Cayden is being fostered in Minneapolis, MN. His adoption fee is $250 + MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Story
Hello there! I'm Trinket, a 9-year-old Australian Shepherd with a heart as big as my smile. My theme song is "Take a Chance on Me" by ABBA. All I need is one chance to show you what a wonderful companion I am. Friendly, loyal, eager to please, and always ready to learn something new are great words to describe me. My foster family says I'm a happy, kind soul, which works too. Every person and dog I meet is my new best friend (and that includes folks at the vet's office)! At 62 pounds, there's a lot of me to love right now. I already feel better having lost some weight and am determined to keep going. Like everything in life, I'm approaching my fitness journey with optimistic determination. I'm looking for a family that will help me achieve my healthy weight with lots of fun together along the way. When I'm not busy winning hearts, you'll find me chasing my beloved herding balls, squeaking a favorite toy, or hoping my family might break out the watermelon - yum! My ideal home is on the quieter side with an active spin. I like to spend my days doing things with my favorite people, going for walks, and enjoying plenty of snuggle time. I am great on leash, and love to chase critters if given the opportunity (part of my workout routine). A fenced yard would be fantastic, or consistent leash management works for me too. I can happily live as an only dog or share my home with other canine friends. I've also lived with cats in the past. Calm, respectful children who want to play with me would be great! They tell me I have early kidney disease, which means my food and medications cost about $55/mo. The payback is HUGE: all the love, loyalty, and joy of a world-class wonderful companion. So, what do you say? Take a chance on me! Promise I'm worth it. Trinket is being fostered in East Bethel, MN. His adoption fee is fully sponsored for his lucky forever family. Trinket is also available for Foster-To-Adopt (FTA). FTA provides an opportunity for families to get to know a dog before moving forward with formal adoption. During the foster period, HOABCR supplies everything Trinket needs from food and medication to other supplies (crate, leashes, etc.) and covers all vetting. Paul.

Story
Copper is a hilarious, four-year-old Australian Shepherd who is ready for a new adventure. He likely spent his early years on a rural farm, giving him a deep love for wide-open spaces. Copper is incredibly social, gets thrilled when his dog friends are outside, and is always ready to play. His favorite activity is zooming across the yard to chase squirrels with racehorse-level speed. True to his breed, he is a natural goofball who listens to commands beautifully. Copper has a massive heart and completely loves people, though he sometimes forgets his manners and jumps up when excited. Because of this, he would thrive best in a home with bigger or older kids who won't mind his enthusiastic greetings. His owner is deeply sad to let him go, but changing international travel demands make it hard to provide the consistent time Copper deserves. He is fully ready to join an active new family and live his absolute best life with a new pack.
