I am sweet and friendly and always has a wagging tail and an adorable smile. I am very treat-motivated and playful, and loves my toys. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? I will be at Nautical Bowls (5013 Ewing Ave S Minneapolis, MN 55410) for an Adoption Event on Sunday May 26th 11:00 am-2:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.   Hi! I'm Rhys, everyone's favorite! I am a giant brindle dude but don't let my size fool you- I am a tiny teddy bear at heart. I absolutely love my humans but I am a boy so I like to wrestle with my brothers and tease my sisters too!   am learning all about living in a house and going potty on pads and outside. I am still a work in progress with potty training but I am super smart so I am sure I will get it in no time. I will need continued help with leash training and crate training in my forever home. I will be ready to go home to my forever family 3/5/24. I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi, my name is Feyre , but my Foster Parents call me Fey!  I am a pretty Girl of about 70 lbs., just a little over a year old the Doctors say.   We do not know my exact lineage, but I am a mix of Husky, Lab Collie and Great Pyreness, we think, at least!   I was found in Arkansas with my litter of 11 Puppies, but was rescued and brought to Minnesota, and I absolutely belong in this climate! I have a heavy coat with a thick undercoat, so I am at home in, and love the snow!!   Not surprising with my heritage, I love to walk, and I can walk fast!   I enjoy meeting people and have zero problem meeting people or other dogs on my walks! My puppies are off to their forever homes, I got spayed, and now I am all healed and healthy, so I am ready to go to my forever home!   My Foster Parents have 2 smaller dogs and some cats, but they don’t bother me any and I don’t bother them! I only wish they were big enough to play with me!   I am still not much more than a Puppy myself, so I have lots of energy and can go as far and as long as you can, but my heritage also allows me to be happy laying outside, just chilling, keeping my eyes on everything, for hours at a time!   I have a voice, and can use it, but I don’t most of the time, as I don’t let much bother me.   I can jump like a Gazelle, so my ideal forever home will have a fenced back yard I can be free in!  If not, we can go on walks and have fun to get my exercise out together.   I am a nature girl and I have never been crate trained, and maybe never confined, so I don’t like it much.  My Foster Parents give me run of the main floor, so I don’t feel trapped.   I am the smartest dog in my house, and maybe as smart as my Fosters have ever had, so I will be easy to train, (or not), as I am smart enough to be independent! I also LOVE to swim and would be the perfect summer lake buddy!  I would love to go to an active person/persons/family, an athlete or runner would be great, as I can give you companionship and protection, while you give me companionship and care. Pick Me!! Please CLICK HERE to sign up to foster! Hi! I'm Prissy. I'm from Alabama! From her foster; Prissy loves to give kisses. She is not much of a cuddler and hasn't shown any interest in hopping up on the couch or bed. She likes to play and would love a playmate. Prissy is mostly a quiet pup and has only recently started showing her voice, usually when she gets playful. She loves being outside where she can run freely, so a fenced yard would be her dream. Prissy is kennel-trained and potty-trained. She is still a puppy and likes to chew on shoes, so I would recommend keeping shoes out of her reach. We have been trying to redirect her with different toys, but she still prefers shoes if she can access them. While she will happily accept treats, she is not treat-motivated, as in she will eat if you give it to her directly, but she will not come to you for a treat, so training her may require a little extra work.

Story
Hi! I'm Holmes. I'm from Oklahoma! From his foster: Holmes is a very loving dog that's eager to please. He thrives on praise and already knows sit, stay, come, heel, and a few others. He is a very curious dog detective and likes to know his surroundings well. He is comfortable around all people so far and really wanted to play with our cat (although our cat was not interested). I think he would do well in any home, especially with kids and friends to play with. Holmes loves to engage with others and enjoys attention and interaction. He is not generally hyper but does enjoy seeing new people. He sleeps through the night in his crate and although sometimes reluctant, he is crate trained and will go to his crate on command. He doesn't mind going to the pup wash, and will do well with grooming. All in all, he's a beautiful pup with a bold personality with a fitting name. His brother Watson was just adopted and although a bit lonely at the moment, he is adjusting well being an only dog. If you have other pets, I'm sure he'd love to play with them! Also, he is fully potty trained and loves when you praise him for going outside. He will eat all manner of treats, although his favorite BY FAR is whipped cream. Although he will tear a part a potty pad, he doesn't chew on anything he isn't supposed to such as furniture of fabrics. He even takes good care of his toys!

These pups are in Richfield, Minnesota too!

I come with a mix of awesomeness and a charming personality that's sure to steal your heart. I can be delightfully laid-back, enjoying those calm moments, or I can transform into a bouncing ball of joy when the mood strikes. Walks and jogs? Count me in, especially if you're by my side. But here's the thing-I love playing with other dogs so much that I often choose their company over toys. Let's talk sunbathing. If your couch has that perfect spot for catching rays, you can bet I'll be there, soaking it all in. I'm a big fan of lounging, whether it's under tables, during dinner time, while you're working at your desk, or even when you're cuddled up in bed. I'm all about being close to my people, and if you choose to adopt me, I'll be all about you! I'm a sociable girl, getting along well with other dogs and kids (especially with submissive/non-dominant dogs). My crate training and potty training with a doggy door are top-notch. I'm a pro at commands like going to my crate and sitting patiently. Now, about my diet-here's the deal: I have EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), which means my pancreas doesn't produce the enzymes I need to digest food properly. Thanks to some attentive rescuers and veterinary care, we've got it all figured out. I'll need a specific diet and a pancreatic enzyme replacement supplement to keep me feeling great. Think of it as a special appetizer and entree at every meal. EPI won't slow me down, and I'm ready to trade serial kisses for a loving forever home day in and day out. So, how about it? Story
Meet Kage, the ultimate good boy who's just so darn cute! This gentleman is a pro at house living, fully potty trained, and a master at walking on a leash and harness. He's a social butterfly, getting along famously with other dogs and loving those backyard playdates with his pals. Kage is a stunning mix of Lab and Border Collie, the perfect blend of intelligence and family-friendliness. He's just the right size, like a mini Lab or a slightly larger Border Collie. When you find two fantastic things that go together like peanut butter and jelly, you celebrate! Kage is that winning combo, and now you can celebrate by making him a cherished member of your family. His temperament is pure gold - sweet as honey with everyone he meets. Now, here's the scoop: Kage is a special needs pup, and he's looking for someone who can be with him about 90 percent of the time. Storms, rain, and loud noises send him into severe panic attacks, and he's been known to chew through walls when anxiety strikes. Crates aren't his jam because of past storm-related trauma. He's also dealing with seizures, so he's on medication for that. Kage would thrive in a local adoption, and he's best as a single dog with no cats or small animals around. He's a wonderful companion for older kids, and he loves nothing more than cuddles and long walks. He's got the whole house training thing down too. His foster mom adores him and has prepared him for his forever family as best she can. Now, the ball is in your court. Remember, when you adopt Kage, you're not just bringing home a good boy; you're giving him the loving, understanding home he deserves. Don't shop, adopt, because Kage's life depends on it! Story
Mac is a sweet boy who knows what he wants! He does love to chase and play with animals smaller than him. Due to this we suggest that he does not go home to a family that has cats or things like chickens. Squirrels watch out! This little guy can move! Mac is a ham, you can't see it in his pictures but he LOVES attention :) He is good with other dogs and happy to be a friend or he could be an only dog and BASK in the undivided attention :) He is a lazy boy and does enjoy snoozing and spending time on the couch napping but at the same time can have his moments where he is ready to go. He is housebroken and does just fine in a crate! If he sounds like the boy for you then don't wait!
