Story
Winston is a bold, loyal dog who forms deep bonds with his people. Once he trusts you, he’s affectionate, engaged, and fully invested in his relationship with you. He enjoys interaction, play, and being part of his person’s world—and he thrives with someone who values connection, structure, and consistency. Winston can be cautious with unfamiliar people and needs time and space to feel comfortable. He does best with calm, respectful introductions and handlers who understand that trust is earned. When given appropriate space, he recovers well from stressful situations and is able to settle. He is best suited for an adult-only home with an adopter who is patient, confident, and dog-savvy. Winston is dog selective and does not enjoy every dog he meets. He is not a good match for homes with male dogs. With a proper meet-and-greet and slow introductions, he may be able to live with a compatible female dog, but this would need to be evaluated carefully. He does best when his social circle is small and thoughtfully managed. Winston is high-energy during play and activity but is capable of settling afterward. He is very food-motivated and already knows how to sit well, making him a great candidate for continued positive-reinforcement training. He will benefit from ongoing work on leash manners, impulse control, and confidence-building around unfamiliar handling. Winston is looking for a committed adopter who understands that strong personalities come with strong loyalty. In the right home—one that offers patience, boundaries, and clear communication—Winston will be a deeply devoted companion with a lot of heart to give. Winston is currently part of our behavior program, and adopters will not be navigating this alone. If someone chooses to welcome Winston into their home, ongoing support is available, including an at home-evaluation and multiple follow-up training sessions to help set both Winston and his adopters up for success.

Story
Sissy Sissy is a sweet, exuberant dog who enjoys being around people and engaging with the world around her. She has a bright personality and thrives in environments where she can feel safe, supported, and included in everyday life. Sissy does not enjoy the company of other dogs and is best suited for a single-dog home. She is happiest when she can be the only dog in the household and receive the attention and stability that help her feel secure. Sissy is well-suited for a home that values routine, structure, and positive interaction. She does best with people who understand that confidence and security grow over time through consistency and patience. Sissy is looking for a loving adopter who appreciates a lively personality and is ready to offer stability, guidance, and companionship. In the right home—one that prioritizes safety, routine, and connection—Sissy will be a loyal and joyful companion.

Story
Benji is a sweet, sensitive dog who is learning how to feel safe and confident in the world. He enjoys gentle interaction and does best with calm, patient people who understand that trust and skills take time to build. When he feels supported, Benji shows his affectionate, endearing personality and his desire to do well. Benji can become overstimulated during exciting moments and may get mouthy when his emotions run high. These moments are a sign that he needs help slowing things down and learning calmer ways to cope. With structure, consistency, and guidance, Benji continues to make progress. Benji is still working on building reliable bathroom habits and confidence around potty routines. This is an area where he will need continued patience, predictable schedules, and positive reinforcement. He has shown encouraging progress and will thrive with a home that can provide time, structure, and consistency. Benji is looking for a compassionate, committed adopter who understands that progress is a journey. In the right home—one that offers patience, structure, and encouragement—Benji has the potential to continue growing into a confident, happy companion. Benji is currently part of our behavior program, and adopters will not be navigating this alone. If someone chooses to welcome Benji into their home, ongoing support is available, including an at home evaluation and multiple follow-up training sessions to help set both Benji and his adopters up for success.

Story
Rusty Rusty is a loyal, playful dog who has been patiently waiting for the right person to find him. Once you're part of his circle, his sweet and silly personality really comes out—he's even been known to greet his favorite people proudly carrying a toy or towel! Rusty can take a little time to feel comfortable with new people. He tends to connect most easily with calm, confident people who are experienced with dogs and allow him to build trust at his own pace. Once that trust is there, you'll see a completely different side of Rusty. Rusty thrives with structure and consistency and can be sensitive to loud noises and busy environments. He needs to be the only dog in the home and is most comfortable when given appropriate space from other dogs. With a confident, experienced handler, Rusty can enjoy walks while calmly passing other dogs at a comfortable distance. Rusty also has luxating patellas, which our team is happy to discuss with potential adopters. Rusty isn't looking for everyone—he's looking for his person. Someone who understands him, appreciates the relationship that comes from earning a dog's trust, and is ready to give a long-waiting dog the home he's been hoping for.
