Story
10 year old 16 pound dachshund mix from Puerto Rico  Pepe came to us with a badly broken leg, horrible teeth and heartworm positive.  His leg was unable to be saved, but he gets around great on three legs. He loves to go for walks and has his very own stroller for when he’s rather ride than walk.  He is good with kids, adults and other dogs. He loves when his people are home and is an excellent work from home buddy!  He’s a wonderfully sweet boy who cannot wait to have a family of his very own. If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the DRSF Online Adoption form.My adoption fee covers all my (prior) vet care (adopter receives vet records).  For more information refer to the DRSF Adoption Fee page.If you have any questions about adoption or want more info, you can email: info@dachshundrescuesouthflorida.comJanuary 16, 2026, 1:14 pm

Story
Pina is a 1 year old female. She weighs 13 pounds. Pina is good with other dogs. She came from a hoarder house and is a weirdo. She’s not at all aggressive, but the inbreeding that happened in that house was hard on her. She likes to be pet, but gets scared of hands sometimes. Her eyes are structurally not correct and she’s been like that since birth. She can see, but mostly shadows and light and dark. She is crate trained and likes to know how things go, a strict schedule isn’t necessary, but her place to eat and sleep should be consistent. Sometimes she runs in circles, but she isn’t bothered by it She will need a patient family, but she is well worth it!
