Story
5/17/23  Our Mr KANE is crushing his goals over at board and train. This smart sweet 2 year old boy is described by his trainer as a kind and loving dober boy who loves to give paw especially if a nylabone is involved. He craves affection, loves going for long walks , and is extremely gentle with other dogs. No matter what the dog we brought out KANE always wanted to kiss or play with them. He would do very well with a female in the house. He is very clean in the house and in his kennel and not destructive in any way. He is a calm boy who likes to relax but has spurts of energy and is definitely treat motivated. KANE would do best with an experienced Doberman owner who understands the breed and their quirks. 1/28/23 Kane is good with other dogs, but very shy and unsure with people. He is still being evaluated and will need an experienced foster or owner. More updates soon.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). These dogs will always be supported by DRL. We welcome financial support for these dogs. Here are links to foster and adoption applications for those dogs who need a foster home or adoptive home. Story
4/31/23  It’s Saturday night and BUZZ is looking for his furever Saturday night date. He is a loving energetic 10 month old who has been waiting patiently for few months for someone to take a chance on him. He is a very sweet dober boy but as he is just a puppy he needs someone patient, kind and understanding of the Doberman breed. He is extremely intelligent and with the proper training is going to make an amazing addition to the right family. He likes other dogs but as he gets older is partial to the females. Unknown about cats . 2/27/23  We welcomed "Buzz" into our rescue this week out of Palm Beach Animal Shelter. He is very young and sweet but very active and needs training. He knows to sit and give paws. And yes we know his ear job is a mess but fortunately he has a adorable face to carry off the look. His face is that of a rescue dog that was in the WRONG hands and lucky for him we will find him the RIGHT forever home.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). Story
5/1/23  Another month is here and I am still patiently waiting for my furever family. My name is ACE and I am absolutely the sweetest Doberman mix you could ever meet. I’m told I am a Doberman mixed with cattahoula leopard dog but I promise you I am 100% purebred Lovebug. I’m just under 2 so I still have a lot of energy especially when I am first let out of my kennel run but it’s only because I have SO MUCH LOVE to give and am super excited to be with humans. I calm down within minutes and sit gently at your feet. I am super intelligent and highly motivated to please my human. I like most dogs unless they react badly to me. I try so hard at my meet and greets and am even good with some of the little dogs but they don’t seem to like me. I have been waiting a long time for my person; I keep watching all my friends around me go home and I keep praying my day is coming. I promise whoever adopts me will never be lonely again. I will shower you with so much love and affection. I like to be as close to you as possible but I listen really well and sit down when you tell me. I do need some training of course. I have been with older children over 10 and love them. No cats as I chase them. 1/29/23 So far, Ace has not shown any dog aggression or interest in cats. Like most dogs, he doesn't care for dogs with bad manners and would probably chase a cat if he was bored enough and it presented as prey. He simply loves people and what a great companion he will be. 1/12/23 Welcome ACE to the rescue! ACE is 1 yr old very sweet Dobie mix. His previous owner, who was heartbroken to give him up, said ACE absolutely loves his people and will stick by your side like glue. He likes to watch tv and his favorite show is Lucky Dog. He loves his chew treats, he is extremely smart and can be a bit of an escape artist so we would definitely recommend a home with a yard and high fence for him. He prefers to be the only dog but as he is new to rescue we are still getting to know him and may find out if he is ok with females. After meeting ACE we totally concur he is 100% love bug. All he wanted to do was kiss you. Lucky is the family who adopts this great boy.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral).
