Tanner was surrender to the rescue when his military family had to deploy. He is a very active boy that needs a big fenced in yard to play in when not inside snoozing. He is housetrained and crate trained. He loves toys and snacks. He loves to go on walks and chase balls in the yard. He is strong and would probably not do well around small childen as sometimes he acts like a goofball. But he loves to sit on the couch and give kisses if you let him.

Story
Abe is a very friendly, affectionate, adorable boy who loves to snuggle. He's scheduled and crate trained, and would do well in a calm environment. He has had a rough start in life and we're glad that his life turned around for the better since being rescued.Abe is good with some other dogs, especially if they are smaller than him and would also do well with older children. However, a home with no other pets preferred. He is the perfect size and that cute face and those soulful eyes will melt your heart! He is currently in a boarding facility in Augusta, Georgia and we would really love for him to be able to find a loving, forever home where he can get the love and attention that he deserves. Abe's adoption fee has been sponsored by a supporter of our rescue in the hopes of getting him out of boarding and into a forever home so there is no adoption fee. But application, references and home check apply!

Story
Memphis is approximately 1 year and 7 months old and weighs 65 lbs. He was found as a stray and never claimed. Memphis is a sweet boy who loves cuddling on the couch. He rides well in the car and loves to go places. When he sees his harness and leash come out he gets very excited. Once out the door he is so hyped up that he pulls on the leash. Memphis enjoys toys, bones and treats. He takes treats gently and knows the following commands – sit, paw, and down. He loves to hug so he will jump up on you to get one so homes with small children is not ideal. Memphis will run after a ball but has not mastered the return. He would rather you come to him. Unsure if he is housebroken, but he does not go to the bathroom in the interior part of his kennel. Memphis is current on all vaccines and neutered. He will be microchipped prior to adoption.

Story
Cali is a sweet girl once found wandering the countryside in a near by county. She was in a foster home briefly...then adopted, but returned because of her high energy level. She then moved to another foster home for several years as since COVID dog adoption are slow. She recently moved into boarding facility as her foster Dad lost his home during Hurricane Helene. Cali needs a home with a secure fence...preferalby a privacy fence and a nice size yard to play in when outside. She is very treat motivated, but because once out on the street she still tends to take treats roughly because overly excited about them. So no children under 12 years of age. She also tends to resource guard her food so does not need to be in a home with other animals that graze on their food all day. Cali will need to eat separately. She once had a best buddy Cooper, but was even wary about him being around her food, treats, and sometimes toys. She needs to be the dominant dog in the house to ensure everyone gets along..and not sure she would do well with cats or young children. Cali is very excitable and feels like a train if she runs into you. Having said all this...don't be afraid. She is a very sweet and playful girl. She loves hard rubber toys and she snuggles and gives kisses to the kennel workers.

Story
I was a stray puppy found in Richmond County and turned into the local animal shelter. Hands to Paws pulled me from the shelter and I lived in a foster home until I was adopted by a military family. However, their older female dog really did not like me very much. I think I was too much energy for her so the family gave me back to the rescue. I am now living in a boarding facility. I need a foster home or a permanent family to live with and love! I am still very puppy like and active! I need a tall wire fence or privacy fenced yard to run in and/or preferable an active family that would like to take me walking. I play with doggie friends at the boarding facility every Wednesday, but occasionally there are some other dogs that just get on my nerves….oh and when it is time to feed me…my mind goes back to when I was on the street and starving…so it is best to have a routine of feeding me in my crate and leaving me alone while I eat. But other than that I will be such a good boy to add to your family.

Story
Lil Tyke is one of a sibling pair of boys surrendered to HTP by their rescuer who found them on the side of the road. Both boys are beautiful dogs...and will be even more so once they gain more weight. They are very loving boys!Lil' Tyke is the leader of the brothers....often showing his little bro Rock how things are done. He is sometimes afraid of new things and experiences, but is getting better. He is crate trained and working on house training. He loves to run and play in the fenced in yard with his brother Rocky and foster dog brother Jasper. He is also learning to walk on a leash and wearing a collar and harness for the first time is some adjustment. He rides nicely in a car, but needs to be picked up to go in and come out of the vehicle. He is starting to learn that coming out is not soooo scary!
