Story
Hi my name is Curly and I have a great story to tell. I am a good boy that’s shy and unsure at first. People, car rides, and loud noises scare me. So I need a home that is quiet and 1-2 people at most would be best. I do great with other dogs, they bring me out of my shell. I know I’m not for everyone but I am the right one for the special person, who can work with me and go at my slow pace, who won’t get frustrated that the world is sometimes scary to me and I need time and help figuring it out. I really want to be loved and give you love, it will just take time, trust, and understanding. I am kennel trained, house trained, and like the backyard. Leash walks are not my favorite but I am working on that. Since I am scared, I like to be able to go in and out of my kennel when I am scared or just feel like it. If you want a special dog that’s not like everyone else, but will always hold a special place in your heart…. I am your boy! I have been around dogs and cats with no issues. I've also been around kids, but I prefer to keep to myself when little ones are around. I'm also crate and housetrained, neutered, heartworm negative, and have age-appropriate vaccinations!  If you're interested in adopting, please email your phone number to rockcityrescue@gmail.comAugust 20, 2024, 12:05 am

Story
Hi, my name is Moe! If you are looking for a special dog, you are barking up the right tree! What makes me special is that life started out a little shaky for me and has left me more nervous and scared than the average dog. With time, understanding, patience, and building trust I will open up and be the best companion you could want! As the saying goes, I stick to the 3’s. I need 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks of a consistent routine and time to learn it & 3 months to start feeling at home. At first, I am more comfortable with other dogs and people really scare me, so I would do best with an outgoing friendly dog in the house to show me how to feel comfortable and confident. As time goes on, I get more used to humans but would do best in a single-person home or just a couple (too many people or a lot of children will be too much for me). I like my kennel and my safe dark space. I will come around and hang out more when I trust it is safe. I am kennel trained and working on being better with the leash. If you are looking for an amazing but special dog who needs a little bit of a calmer lifestyle, I am your man!!!! Email your phone number to rockcityrescue@gmail.com for more info! Story
Hey folks! I'm Ross! I am pretty laid back approximately 9 year old dude (as of Jan 2023) that is just out here living life to the fullest. I spend my days snoozing alongside my foster brother or romping in the backyard sniffing all the glorious great outdoors. Hey... in fact, I would really enjoy a forever family that likes to do some walking outdoors with me. I've been working very hard on getting a bit more fit, and have about 20 more lbs to go before I reach my goal weight! So I would love to have my very own human companion and/or family help me. Let's get fit together! I am smart as a whip, I must say so myself. I kennel trained in like 1.5 days, and don't ever do any of my potty business in the house. I know the rules! I sometimes bark at new humans to remind them I am Ross the Boss, but I chill out pretty quick. I haven't yet been around young children, but I think relaxing with older kids sounds pretty cool. So what do you say? Am I the perfect doggie dude for you? Ross comes to you neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on core vaccines. If interested in adopting, email your request to rockcityrescue@gmail.com, and please include your phone number. (Note, we're not sure if he's been around cats before in a home, but he can be cat tested upon request)August 20, 2024, 12:05 am

Story
Friday is about 6 years old and I’ve had her since she was a puppy. She’s a huge sweetheart and very gentle with my little girl, unfortunately I don’t have the space that she needs. She’s very relaxed, doesn’t chew on things she’s not supposed to or go to the bathroom in the house. She’s a bit of an anxious dog though and requires some love and attention. She has lived with other dogs in the past with no issues but I think she’d prefer to be an only dog.

Story
HELLO FOLKS! My name is Holly, and I am a very sweet, 5 and ½ year old female German Shepherd mix. I generally like people and I do well with other dogs, but it’s best if I’m supervised when I am around them. You see, I do what the hoomans here at Golden Paw Rescue call resource guarding. I don’t know when or why I started doing that, and neither do they. They tell me that sometime in my life, I may not have felt safe and secure, so I got worried about my possessions. I may growl or bark or even snap when someone tries to take them. Since I do have this tendency, it’s best if I’m in a home with no young children or animals. I really need a home where I can have my own space to myself, for me and my possessions. I think that with my own space, where nobody else goes, and a regular feeding schedule, I will realize that I won’t be losing my stuff. Then I can relax and not worry about it so much. I am better than when I first got here. I will now trade stuff for treats or toys, if I need to. Also, the hoomans here have taught me that I must sit and wait for food or treats. I also know commands for sit, shake, down, load up, or kennel. I also walk well on a leash and have traveled in a vehicle as well, (although I may need some more practice on that one.) I am what the hoomans here call a larger sized dog person (61-100 pounds), and have had all my shots and am spayed. I’m also terribly beautiful. Just look at my picture. I look kind of like Old Yeller and I’m ready to go. So, there it is folks. I not only need a special forever home, but a very special person to take me there. Someone with the vision to see the dog I can be and the patience to get me there. Someone who has experience with dogs. The hoomans here say I am extremely smart and can learn what you want me to know. And in exchange, I can give you loyalty, gratitude and love for a lifetime. So what do you say? Fill out an application, come for a visit and you will see that I am that dog you’ve always wanted. If you’re the special person I’ve been waiting for, we really can get this done together. Love Holly
