Story
Do you have a needy dog who wants your attention all the time? Would you like to have a companion dog to give your friend a buddy? But can’t imagine having another dog battling for your lap? Looking to rescue someone truly deserving? Check out Rum Runner!   To meet Rum Rummer,  please fill out an application at  https://www.leeshorerescue.com/forms    Rum Runner is a neutered male Carolina Dog. He was born on 1/15/2021. He is  a medium dog, about 40 pounds. He has a medium energy level. This boy will want a fenced yard as he loves his outside playtime.   Rum Runner was stray until he was five months old. He is very dog social. He loves other dogs and gets along with every dog at the Adoption Center. He likes to have a dog companion to play with and to give him confidence. He has been fine with male and female companions dogs. He adores playing outside and is always up for a romp.    Rum Runner knows basic obedience. He can walk on a leash and is crate trained. He knows sit and down. He sleeps well in a crate. He does not love a car ride but does ride quietly. He has not shown interest in jumping out of his foster’s yard and stayed well in a 4 1/2 foot fence. When he is in a yard, he does bark vigorously at strangers.   Rum Runner was not touched by humans as a young puppy. He is very shy of being touched and does not enjoy it. He flinches away from hands. This deserving boy could be a great companion to another dog. He is not asking for a lot out of life. He wants to have a safe home with regular meals and a buddy to play with. After he gets to know you, he likes people although he will always want to keep a little independence. He probably will never be that guy who cuddles on the couch.    He currently lives at our adoption center in Spindale, NC and is ready to go to a loving home. The adoption fee is $75.00. Rum Runner is neutered, heart worm negative, microchipped and up-to-date with vaccinations, worming and flea treatment.    To adopt please go to the following link and fill out an application. https://www.leeshorerescue.com/forms   AASMay 30, 2023, 6:14 pm

Story
To meet Milo,  please fill out an application at  https://www.leeshorerescue.com/forms     Milo is a neutered male Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Black Mouth Cur Mix born 11/13/ 2018. He is a medium sized boy weighing approximately 43 pounds.  Milo is a silly and sweet boy who loves any kind of attention from anyone and everyone. He loves to go for walks and hikes. His favorite game is tug- of-war. Did you say treats? Training time is the best. Milo is very smart. You could train him to do nearly anything. He is even learning to run on a treadmill. That being said, he is also a giant cuddle bug. He loves nothing more than some tummy rubs and ear scratches, and to curl up for a nap with his head on his human’s lap. His other favorite pastime is an afternoon sunshine nap on the deck, laying completely on his back with his paws in the air. On his bucket list is trying an agility course!  Milo rides well in the car. He is house trained. He does not use a crate, but is never destructive when left alone in the house. He has a high prey drive and does not read other dogs’ behavioral cues well. Milo should be in a home with no other animals. He has medium to high energy, and would do best with an experienced dog owner who will be able to meet Milo’s needs for mental and physical exercise. He requires a fenced yard. Milo knows: sit, down, lets’ walk, heel, come, drop it, leave it, shake, off, place (which means get in your bed in the living room). “break” is his release command.  Milo’s adoption fee is covered by his foster family! He is neutered, microchipped and heartworm negative. He is up to date on vaccines, worming and flea prevention.  To adopt please go to the following link and fill out an application. https://www.leeshorerescue.com/forms    May 30, 2023, 6:14 pm
