NOTE: For more information about Sugar, contact Stephanie at Stephrauch@icloud.com Sugar is only about 6 months old, but she has had a rough start. Her previous owner declared that he "didn't like the dog" and he treated her badly. When we rescued her, she was very afraid. She is making progress with loving care, but she has a way to go. She is shy and retiring. She has no hostility, but acts very scared. She does allow her foster family to pet her head. She is not comfortable with a leash right now. But she is making a lot of progress and we feel certain that as long as she continues to be treated kindly, she will blossom. She does love to be around other dogs.

Bowie is a gentle, friendly, calm dog. He is affectionate and obedient. Despite having no training that we know of, he will sit on request and wait for a treat, which he takes gently from your hand. He is not a jumper or a barker. He walks nicely on his leash. At 2 years old, he is fully grown at 40 lbs, a good size for an indoor/outdoor dog. He would love to go on walks with you, and then curl up at your feet or on the couch peacefully, to keep you company.

Whiskey is a miracle dog. He had a condition in his back legs which caused him to be unable to walk. He was rescued despite what many thought was a hopeless task to rehabilitate him. After months of loving vet and foster care, Whiskey can walk! He needs a little help with a back leg harness, and he is not going jogging with you, but he can go for short walks. He is wonderful with people, loves children, and is good with other dogs so long as introductions are done slowly. He is smart and knows "sit, come, and (mostly) stay." Luvalie is estimated to be 3 years old (although her foster family thinks she may be younger) and weighs 55 lbs. She had surgery on her right leg, from which she has healed. She is housetrained and does fine with a crate. She is good with all dogs and all adults. She has not been around children, so there would have to be a meeting to see how she reacts. She is well behaved in the house - no jumping on furniture and hardly any barking. She does need help learning to walk on a leash, which she wasn't able to do while her leg healed.

Ruthie is about 1 year old and weighs 60 lbs. She is an absolute sweetheart! She is calm when she meets new people, does not jump or act wild. She likes nothing better than putting her head in your lap and looking up at you adoringly. She will sit for a treat and take it gently from your hand. She cannot get enough of people. If you want love in a compact package, Ruthie is your girl.

Dahlia is approximately 4 years old and weighs 38 lbs. She is a bundle of energy and needs a few minutes to calm down after getting out of her kennel and meeting new people. She would love an active family and a fenced yard with another dog to play with would be a plus. Despite her energy, she will sit and wait for a treat. She also loves to play with toys. She can throw a ball for herself and run after it. Unfortunately, Dahlia came to us with heartworms, but she is being treated. If you take her home, the treatment will continue AT NO COST to you, and then when she is free of those nasty parasites, your adoption will be finalized.
